David is quite a dancer and a performance artist. He is a well respected teacher as well. I have had the pleasure of seeing him dance live and on dvd's and have the up most respect for his skills as a dancer and a instructor.

Humorous? I've never seen David before, but some of the Turkish guys are amazing. Men have been "belly dancing" for ages, only recently have they stopped, mostly because of religious pressures. Dancing of all types is often discouraged now in the middle east.

Lets not be ignorant and study a little more midde eastern culture and Im prtty sre youll find men in the middle east bellydance too! there is nothing funny about it, its just something very common in their lifestyle

It is difficult to not do bellydancing "feminine" like, as it originally began as a female dance. Male belly dancers are normal, and they are just as talented as female belly dancers. It is less common but in no way is it strange or wierd or funny. Be respectful. This is his life, work, and art.

And do not try to attack me, I've done a research project on bellydance and I myself have been bellydancing for almost 2 and a half years.

He is a really good dancer! This video is in NO WAY comedic! It might be funny to those who are uneducated and lay. But to people who are knowlegable and respectful they will see a person performing a dance with poise and precision! DaVid is very talented and this was a great performance! The person who uploaded this video for "comedic" purposes is obviously a tard! :-)

You ought to be ashamed of yourself for trying to make fun of this dancer...for your information, Middle Eastern dance encompasses both sexes, it is just that in the West men do not bellydance as much as women do.

Also, this dancer is fantastic...technically sound and a brilliant performer.

Men have every right to belly dance, just as women have the right to do any dance they desire. They generally take it very seriously and train hard and do well since they have stonger muscles. However, this gentleman has a very femine style which turn some people off including myself. I like to see men take the belly dance and make it into a masculine form.

y2takerredmachine, the ironic thing is that you posted this thinking it was humorous but it is seriously good. This is a really nice modern Egyptian style dance to a very classic and beautiful piece of music. The dancer has studied with Egyptian dancers and knows what he is doing. Perhaps whatever concept you have of "belly dance" is simply not correct.

I don't think it is comedic if a man "bellydances". In North Africa and the Mid East, it is common for men to "bellydance" (a misnomer created by westeners). After all, Raks Sharki is a social dance. Check out Amir Thalib, Tito, and Tarik Sultan for good dancing.
