hi, well I speed up the video once I finish recording it. and yes, you can do that in Camtasia studio as well as in other video editing programs.

1. start painting with light colours or only in black and white (later add colours) and end up adding darker and very dark tones. 2. use reference pictures. 3. do more traditional paintings using acrylics and watercolors instead of digital art at first :)

the lineart and colouring all are done by me :) it was my first time recording so i had some trouble recording first minutes of the painting, so it isn't recorded exactly from the begining.

sorry that it's so fast, but it took me quite a few hours to make, so i can't make it slower or it will exceed 10 minute limit that youtube has :(

if you want tips or help you can always send me a message.

this work was done using cs2, though photoshop 7 will be ok too, it doesn't really matter which version you are using. it's all about the skills, not the program :)

what brush did you use?

a paint brush, airbrush, or something else? did you use anything to blend the shadows and highlights like the smudge tool or softening tool?

just wondering because I suck at doing things like this...

i use various of brushes. my list is big.. :)

though i find the basic paint brushes to be most comfortable to use.

no blending tool was used for this painting as i started painting from light colours.
