  • REally cool area. I was there in mid october and the trail was only open to the main area where you are at at 4:40. They had a 1000 acre fire in there so most of it is closed. But that is one of the best groves of Redwoods anywhere. Not many tourists since its well hidden.

  • Thank you SOOO very, very much for posting this. I grew up in this area and haven't been able to go home in many over a decade.

Thank you for taking me there for a few mintutes with this video.

    God bless.

  • Ahhh, very familier with the area, I've not been to Montgomery Woods though. Yes, Hendy Woods is off of 128 over between Philo and Navarro. Thanks again for posting!

  • Is that Hendy Woods by chance? I grew up in the Ukiah/ Boonville area, and am trying to place this. Sure miss my Redwoods!

    Thanks for posting!

  • This is Montgomery Woods on Orr Springs Rd. which is off State St., just north of Ukiah. Hendy Woods is the state park on route 128 southwest of Ukiah on the way to the coast, past Booneville as I remember. A beautiful Redwood Forest as well.

  • thanks for posting...

a few years back I thoroughly enjoyed these woods...and Orr Hot Springs. I am planning a return trip sometime.
