How to play Xbox 360 on a PC monitor (HD)

i have a sound issue.

i connected my xbox to samsung syncmaster 910t

now first of all, it plays the games at a very low resolution

plus

it has no audio input

how can i get the audio?

Can someone like freaking help me! I plug in my hdmi to my hdmi to dvi which is connected to my monitor. Then i plug in my cords for sound to my speakers but when i turn on my xbox, i either need to have it without sound and picture, or with sound and without picture! PLease help!

@LooksLikeIdiot I would recommend going the HDMI way if you can, because I have DVI, but I wish I'd have gone with it instead of VGA, my LCD monitor has shadows and it's just not quite right, very distracting.
