  • Thumbs up if you thought her hair burned off at 1:18 :O

  • wow thats some funky soul. :D

  • Very nice!!

  • I like the song...Who is this version by?

  • i love this :). im currently transitioning to natural hair and do have some bleached sections. im going to try this hopefully my color comes out as bright as yours

  • LOL I know people from other cultures think we are funny.

  • Do you notice if the henna has interfered with your curl pattern any?

  • you can see the difference.. this is a beautiful color on you my dear...

  • What song is this?

  • .. It looks the same.

  • @llovemyllife no it came out brighter and not as dull

  • madam i'm an arab we use henna alot here but we never ever use on dyed hair because it will turn orange itsn't not good because henna interacts with the chemical dying color

  • Looked good. I can def see a difference, the already dyed part of your hair which was already looking dull is now much brighter, the henna gave it much more luster.

  • @BluV8ynes88 thank you!!

  • I want to color my hair with henna instead of permanent color from the store and i see you put henna over your color so i see it is possible

  • That is so pretty!! They now sell henna already mixed and in a creamy form. I'm going to to try it and see how it works.

  • Cute!

  • @NakitaBenjamin2c if your hair isnt already dyed or a light shade it takes more than one application for it to show. Henna is also used as a really good conditioner as well. After I used it my hair felt sooo soft.

  • It looks the same as before

  • Never seen the tips at the end like that.... LUV IT!!!!!!!! Make your hair different than others... Nappy Journey

  • @lecifbaby i havent heard anything harmful but ill be sure to look into that. i havent used black however. only red.

  • You should be careful when using colored henna some contain ppd? it's really harmful for the body especially black henna! google the results it's pretty disturbing.

  • I'm sure those ends fell right off. Your not suppose to put henna on top of permanent hair color smh.

  • @the80sbabi Nope! My ends are still in tack! Thanks for your concern :)

  • @the80sbabi actually u can u just have to wait a week . She said herself its been 7 months. i did it on RELAXED hair thats even more fragile and its fine. and it has to be 100% real henna . Cause some henna dyes have metallics in them. Oh and it kinda sounded like u want her LUSH ends to fall off. TRY HENNA HUT!!! its amazing,.

  • @TheMiraDemure She obviously cut off her ends or trimmed them off because this video is old. Henna won't hurt relaxed hair but doesn't really go well with color and henna. I've tried henna before and don't really care for it I like to see my color with out being in the light.

  • @the80sbabi hm. i failed to mention my hair has been colored numerous times, almost to the point of breaking all off due to overprocessing. Yea she trimmed but im pretty sure she just wanted to cut it short and the henna had nothing to do with it.

  • @the80sbabi I keep forgetting stuff. Henna is all natural. its almost like putting mud in your hair. It will only break off if you go and buy box henna with mettalics and harsh salts. You have to buy real henna in its natural state (still powered though) Henna binds your split ends and the keratin. Which is what the hair strand is made of. Including the Cortex the medulla and the cuticle.

  • @the80sbabi i thought that you weren't supposed to put permanent hair color on top of henna. lol.. i've used box dyes a few times and have a tendency to read EVERY little detail. low and behold it said "... do not use over damaged hair or hair that has been treated with henna". just thought i'd add my two-three cents :)

  • @beezy1609 wwwoooo I had to read all your comments lmbo! I actually didnt know that you werent suppose to add henna over hair dye and vise versa. I havent had any breakage though. Outside the normal amount of shedding. I think I am going to chill on the hair dyeing for a minute though just because I dont want to damage my hair and have to go through a big chop all over again :(

  • @huney1023 noo! you misunderstood what i said.. lol. the henna will not damage your hair if its 100% pure henna (BAQ) or whatnot.. It can however make your hair dry depending on your hair... so you shoud deep condition hair after the henna treatment. idk about the henna used in this video though....

  • @beezy1609 oh okay lol!!

  • There is a purple henna?

  • swweet!

  • Is the henna PERMANENT ?

  • @jessyboo133 yes

  • Black tea stuns the henna color, it's usually only used for glosses, meaning you'll add in oils and other things like scents.

  • nice video...love the music...

  • @TheShyadrem No there isnt a type for differnt hair types.

  • hi i like the video what is your hair type mine is similar and I have no idea how to determine what mine is.

  • @keania523

My hair type I believe is half 4c and half 4b. Thank you for watching!

  • Yes Jesus! And I love the video.

  • @ClickClackbang415 I loooove that song lol!

  • What is your hair type?

  • Thanks. I am gonna look into them. Did not think Sallys would be the place to get it!

  • yea she is she comes to visit us at my church occationally i remember her from when i was little lol. she is Awesome. She was at the womens conference last year at ocbf. you should come this year Beth Moore will be bringing the word

  • thats my jam is that angela christie?

  • @ladiepink yes it is! I had the pleasure of seeing her live in Dallas. Off the hook!

  • Yeah next time leave it a lil bit longer, better yet section your hair into four, and work closer to the scalp!! Wrap it, and sleep in it, trust me it'd get the roots, you need atleast 6 hours for roots that are dark, at first it'd be extremely copper but that would die down a bit, also try the body art henna, the brick!!! It really really works!!!

  • That's beautiful. I had been looking for tutorials for henna because I'd like to color my hair. Thanks for sharing!

  • very cute. you go girl

  • that looks really cute on you.

  • @ddggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg

  • Hello I live in Maryland and cant find a store that has henna to save my life!!! Ca I get it online or can you tell me what kind of store I should be lookin for?

    Thanks

  • @ChocLadyAJ

I DO THINK THEY SELL IT AT SALLY'S

IVE BEEN DOING RESEARCH ON WHAT KIND OF DYE TO USE BECAUSE IVE STOPPED GETTING RELAXERS FOR ABOUT A YEAR 1/2 NOW AND WANT TO DO SOMETHING WHERE I HAVE TO USE AS LITTLE CHEMICALS AS POSSIBLE.. BUT TRY SALLYS BEAUTY SUPPLY I THINK I SAW IT ONLINE THERE

  • @ChocLadyAJ

I THINK THEY SELL IT AT SALLY BEAUTY SUPPLY

I LIVE IN MARYLAND AS WELL AND I RECALL LOOKING ON THE SITE AND I THINK I SAW IT THERE

  • Your hair is awesome...

  • very pretty

  • how much did your henna cost from whole foods? and how long did the color last?

  • @icw26 it was real affordable but to be honest I dont really remember exactly how much I paid. The color lasted for a few months.

  • i had no idea you could use henna on such dark hair! its looks absolutely beautiful!

  • @nilesblvd Thank you very much!

  • @nilesblvd

I have really dark hair too, and I colored my hair henna red some four - five years ago, and I wanted it dark red. Imagine red wine standing in the sun, how it glows from the light. That's what it looked like. Absolutely stunning effect. ^^

  • 4 hours is really short, u have to sleep with it and let it do its job for at least 12 hours if you want to get some good results!

  • Thanks Jan3. I might try it again soon.

  • Okay, you hair is beautiful! But I LOVE that song. I'm about to down load it now! LOL! I have a TWA. And I want to dye it, but I don't have enough hair to twist it like that.

  • u mean to leave the henna overnight after applying into the hair?

  • i've used the same thing exactly and i had similar results

  • LOL! The colors gone now. Dont want to but I think imma get it permantly died next time

  • heyy, i love the color of yr hair.. very pretty, well i wanna dye my hair with henna too, but wait, does it acually dye ur hair from the roots? like a solid color? as regular dye would,or does it look different?

  • Thanks for the compliment! The henna will dye your hair gradually over time. Its best if you leave on over night to get the full effect.

  • hi huney really liked the colour

u mean to leave the henna overnight in the hair?

  • Love the color! (Divine-Diva BHM)

  • 'ppreciate it Diva!

  • Yeah think im about done with it but thanks!

  • yeah that can happen with henna. If you add amla powder to your recipe, then it will help maintain your curl, but it also lessens the red of the henna too.

There are a few forums where you could research this, just to see how others maintained their curl when using henna. A good spot is Long Hair Care Forum or even Naturally Curly.

  • I should have read through, you had already said that. Goes to show you, how fast I was browsing through the comments.

It looks really nice. Did you ever keep up with the henna? Or was it just to try it out?

  • Just to try it out. I would try it again but I just dont like how it made my curls looser.

  • Very nice video as well. If you do use a very fresh henna powder, as mentionned before in the comments. Keep in mind every henna powder has a different time for dye release. Any where from 1-2 hrs to up to 12 hours, and the dye release will continue once you apply it onto your hair.

Was your hair two different tones to begin with when you used the henna?

    Happy henna'ing!!

  • Yes i had my hair dyed previously. Only changed the color that was already dyed.

  • The results are lovely. Love the contrast of the 2 colors. Thanks for the vid.

  • Thanks so much!

  • Wow, now that is orange. I use henna for skin, but have also colored my hair. My hair color, and texture are very similar to yours and I have had great results (reddish hues) with henna from Yemen. If I can make suggestions, use fresh henna, store bought henna is often old and sometimes not stored properly. Also let your henna dye release for 6-8 hours at 70F. This allows more dye content for your hair. Let the paste sit in your hair over night in a shower cap and plastic wrap. Cool vid!

  • Thanks! I dont think im gonna do the henna for a while because it changed my hair texture alittle.

  • Have you had any dark color or red dyes put in? They will affect how your color comes out because of how it sits on your follicles cuticle. I think it is a pretty color.

I don't have experience with Henna so I don't know if it is like other permanent colors but just a note for ya

  • I had my hair dyed previously and only the part that was already dyed was colored red. Thanks for the compliment!
