great casting, really brilliant, most of the vids i've been watching of sand casting aluminum were pretty stupid, i was thinking of casting a flathead for a briggs and stratton... but not quite sure how to do it.. btw what is "foam"
The better the foam the better the casting, no pours that might fill with plaster and have to be touched up with grinding. The foam is cheap stuff, less dense than say cooler foam and even less than packing foam.
I can make about one clean pound of aluminum out of 40 pop cans. The head is 16 lbs so 640 cans i guess. Did you know one recycled pop can saves enough energy to run your TV for 3 hours!
amazing I hope my projects turn out that nice

What kind of foam do you use? Does it completely burn off when the moleten aluminum is poured in?

That is amazing! Did you use sand? Or was the slury enough?

2 coats of plaster slurry and then pour sand around the item. I used an old back massager to vibrate the sand into any voids. Very LowTachi ;)
