@fergal001 Absolutely. In my Collective Soul - Shine cover (one of them, anyway) you will see me using it for this purpose. I have the PA setup, but then have the amp positioned so I can hear myself without introducing feedback.
Maybe I'm crazy but I prefer the sound of an acoustic coming from a PA system more than these acoustic amps. They always seem to sound thin. I also don't like the sound of new strings and all the acoustic amps I've tried make that new string sound. They also sound too compressed. I like old school acoustic tone can any acoustic amp produce a similar tone to Neil Young's "Harvest'? They just seem too "Hi-fi" or is it just me? Maybe my ear is bad? No, I have stellar ears, lol

Hey man i was wondering because i have a condenser mic and the way i understand from everything i read up on this little guy has everything on board to run that through without having to have anything else is that correct
I own this exact amp. I do play out with it on occasion if the room is smaller and fits a 50watt sound. . However, personally, I would say that this amp is predominantly best utilized for home or self-studio work. It puts out a really nice warm tone with an acoustic guitar ( I play 3 different acoustics into it), and they all sounds great. It also sounds true running an XLR into channel 2 for vocals. Overall, a very nice amp considering the acoustic amp competition.
Hi mate thinking of buying one of these amps , do you think it would be good enough and loud enough for a acoustic soloist playing in bars or pubs????
@azb24 Hi im planning to buy this amp??? I play at church... BTW i play a takamine ef360sc do you recommend me this amp for my guitar and for the use that i need? Thanks!
@Tudge12 It is only 50 watts, so that could be a tough proposition. It does have a direct-out in the back for connecting to a PA for more power if necessary.
There's a high pitched ringing to it....feed back...
So many people are negative about this amp.I like mine but for some reason a also bought a Roland and have left this one behind, though I can't get rid of it.
I was leaning towards the fender acoustasonic, but the more I hear this amp the more I feel like it's the better choice. It doesn't have as many effects or ooo-hickies, but amazing sound quality. Marshall truly is a top amp company...
Very well presented. Almost like a demo in shop, with you doing exactly as I would have (strum / test effect / volume etc.). Thank you for taking the time to do this presentation (and for the level of video/audio quality).
I am not sure about your comparison with Roland. Had AC-60 and it has really different and much clearer sound, in my opinion. But thanks for the demo anyway. Interesting amp for its price.
absolutly woarldsless demonstraition...;You can talk and talk but nothing ever gonna happend....okey now i see that you have a sound tone. Well lets see if this want me too buy it......
Again very helpful...Did you try any of the Fender acoustic versions? A bit hard to compare with their inhouse comericials...I like the balanced output......Thanks again for the details....
hi. im looking to buy marshall AS50 R. would u recommend it? i want to play at home mainly or at times in a small gathering with family n friends. i m interested in this 1 is coz i want to b able to plug mic as well. i hve a sm57 mic. so could u plz guide me if i should go for it or not. thx.
As far as I know, the AS50R has been discontinued (unless you're buying used). The AS50D is the only one they still make. Either way, for home and small gathering/gig use, this amp is awesome. It is easy to use and sounds great.
@azb24 thank you so very much for answering to my query. yes i wanna buy a used second hand AS50R which is in pretty new condition. I see that both look pretty much the same. would you still recommend me getting it? cheers.
I have one of these amps, love the thing, just wish there was more EQ control but for the price I can't complain. However, I use my telecaster through just as often as my acoustic, gives it a unique and clean tone, especially if you use the reverb (tastefully). so yes, RetroReactiveZ, you can use your Strat on it, just don't expect to sound like Hendrix.
Great videos, very helpful. Is their an output for headphones on the AS50 or 100? I'm considering either of these amps but just wondered re the headphones for practising etc.
There is a 1/4" Line Out on the back of the 50, but it isn't emulated, so it probably wouldn't work well with headphones. I'm not sure what the 100 has.
how well does it work with the Nic pluged in as well. I am looking to buy one of these in the next week or to so your video has been very helpful. Thanks, Si.
That really depends on the application. The 100 is larger, has more power, and more features. I liked the 50 for the simplicity and price, but if you need more power or features, then the 100 is good.
I shoot video with a Flip UltraHD. All of the audio you hear on my videos is straight from the mic on the camera. No additional equipment or editing is used. It is a great little camera.
When using the reverb did you turn the ch1 button off.

@fergal001 Two guitars or a guitar and one mic, as far as I know. There are only one set of controls for the second input.
