  • i remember this on tv when i was a baby!

  • I remember this, I was 9 years old and just stood in front of the TV in amazement

  • Yo, robbman, that is right. It was a Showtime Short and I saw all those vids back then. I loved the Jimmy the C . Hardware Wars, aww man, an iron as a space ship, funny stuff man, the reel to reel tape crawled all over everything, brings back memory's.

  • This is the ONLY version of Georgia to be sung Ray Charles.

  • Wow! Just searched for this on a whim and so glad I did...can't believe it was on here. The only time I ever saw this was I *think* 1981, when either HBO or Showtime (pretty sure it was HBO) used this as a "filler" in between movies, which is where I also saw "Hardware Wars" and some stop-motion short where this guy gets devoured by movie film. Anyone remember THAT??

  • I remember seeing this when I was in college back in the late 70s. A bunch of us went to the movies to see "Animal House," and they showed this during the trailers before the movie. It was great then, and it's still great.

  • Congrads on the oscar nom...

And it's cool that you're one of the few major animators who posts his stuff on his own YouTube account! Very cool!

  • ryan miller is gay

  • Even the American Flag in the background is displayed improperly. Should be to the 'character's ' right shoulder. But should we expect?

  • I believe I remember seeing this on the very first 20/20 episode.

  • you are correct

  • We used to play this short at the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the 8th Street Playhouse. Thanks for posting it!

  • First time I saw this was in college right after Reagan had won the election over Carter in 1981. We didn't think it was sad. We thought it was funny, expecially the part where the State of Georgia tossed out her wine glass. I always thought it was a farewell to Carter as he was now going back home to Georgia, for good. I thought it was pretty clever and glad to see it again.

  • Wow, I haven't seen this since '77(?). It made me cry back then, too:*(

  • How do you people DO this?

I'm tellin you, I fist saw this clip on my grandma's 12" Black n White TV,

    when I was 8 years old (1976)

Carter was just running for President.

I have thought about this for years,

and tonight I just took a chance.

    U R AWESOME 4 POSTING THIS!

  • The producers of "Jimmy The C" - Robert Grossman, Jimmy Picker, and Craig Whitaker - were nominated for the Academy Award.

  • thank you so much. I have been looking for this one for a long time. I saw this years ago on HBO and loved it.

  • We were telling our kids about this video earlier today! My wife loved Jimmy Carter when he was President and we first saw this video on "On TV", our old version of cable. When she saw this, she cried like a baby! Seeing this video sure brings back some great memories!

  • Sweet!

  • I've been trying to describe this to my kids! Glad I found it.

  • Jimmy Carter came up in conversation at work today. It made me want to look for this on YouTube. I saw this during a school assembly in junior high back in 1976. The students loved it. What a great flashback!

  • I just can't get over how cute this is! Please don't take it down!!!!

  • My mother told me about this back in 1976 and I've waited 31 years to see it!

  • well this is interesting! lol!

  • Thank you for bringing back my childhood!
