Experienced.

I have gentile neighbors in my building (Arabs, Christians and Muslims). I have no problem with them.

I just don't want to live in the midst of non-Jewish culture where the majority are gentiles and they set the norms. I ran away from that. I found it unlivable.

Here in Israel there are many people who fast for a whole day and do not talk for the whole day (24 hours) once a week. When they are doing this, they have a note in their pocket that says: I am doing a talk fast today. Everyone understands, helps them and no one makes them feel weird.

I think my responses made it clear that I do not wish to live among gentiles because in their societies, structured as they are; I cannot live fully as a Jew.

I simply recognize the fact that living fully as a Jew is so particular a lifestyle that it cannot be carried out fully anywhere but in our own Land and I cannot make the kinds of compromises that Jews in the Diaspora have to make.
