I was open about my Atheism in 8th Grade, and I took so much shit over it. Some bitch asked me if I didn't believe in God, I said no and she told me I'm "going down". Dude, the Bible tells stories that were originally passed down by word of mouth. Some of the stories may be a bit graphic, but life is rated R sometimes. For example, WW2. The Bible records these experiences from the stand point of a different culture than everywhere else.

I cannot accept the idea that we are sinners simply for being alive, or how someone can claim that I do not have morals because I do not believe in what they do. Yet Christians among others pick and choose what they want to believe from their book. If you overlook all the bad things the bible supports you obviously have morals without it.

@BlongBlarble The only thing all atheists have in common is the lack of belief in a god. there are liberal atheists there are conservative atheists there are smart atheists and dumb atheists. Science on the other hand is fairly straight forward , it;s a system designed to test reality and so far there is 0 evidence or theory for the existence of any god. Rely it;s that easy.

The bible was written over a period of around 4 THOUSAND years, by numerous different groups of scribes. It is also very likely that what is written in the bible came from even EARLIER oral stories.

Just want to point out the statement you made about Lot. Lot was not sent out to rape his daughters. I don't know why every athiests I've heard mentioning this part always thinks that it is that way. His daughters raped him, because they had no husbands and wanted to have children, so they got him drunk and proceeded. In addition, it is not saying, "thou shall rape and have incest". The event simply happened. The OT is more like a history book. The NT is what you would consider the "rule book".
