  • thank you !

  • @B44WDC You are welcome! Thank you for stopping by!

  • omggggggggggg. that must be alot of oil!!! can i have some??

  • @ashram97 Thanks for coming by! Happy New Year!

  • Have you ever injected your turkey with your seasonings? There are a ton you can just buy in a store and I know you could find a way to make some really yummy ones Oh it is so yummy and in a wierd way how is it not fun to poke a turkey and fill it with seasonings haha!

  • @Twistedcresent I have not injected my turkey but I know of the products you are talking about. This seems to work just fine. Thanks for coming by! Happy New Year!

  • It looks like making a fried turkey requires using a lot of oil. How do you discard that much oil or do you reuse it? Thanks.

  • @BubbaJohnIsKing Yes it does. That was a 5 gallon container of oil. I guess you could reuse it but I do not. I make this only once every 3 years - approx. In the US you have to discard the oil at one of the toxic waste facilities - where you get rid of batteries, paint, etc. Thank you for stopping by! Have a great New Year!

  • @pastryparrot1 Thanks a lot for the info. Have a Happy, Healthy, and Prosperous New Year.

  • @BubbaJohnIsKing You are welcome. I wish you the same!

  • Thanks. I'm trying it tonight Looks good

  • Amazing!!! I would need to have all the utensils to do that here (Spain). I´ll definitly look for this in my next trip to the US!!!! Best whishes for 2012

  • @ruiz1707 It will change the way you eat turkey. Once you have tried this you will never want to go back to roasted! Felices Fiestas! Que el 2012 sea fantastico! Thanks for your continued support!

  • They thought it was the best turkey ever. my dad wants to create his own blend of seasoning to inject and deep fry turkey every year now. Once again thanks and Happy 2012.

  • I tried this recipe for my very first deep fried turkey on Christmas day and it turned out PERFECTLY!

    Thanks!!!

  • @john2llm Haha! Thank you for coming by! Have a great week!

  • What is "deep frying oil"?

  • @idunnoproductionzz Deep frying oil is an oil that has a very high smoking point and is used for deep frying. Thank you for watching!

  • @pastryparrot1 What I meant was what kind did you use? Like Vegtable?

  • @idunnoproductionzz Oh, sorry! I used peanut oil but vegetable would be fine. Thanks!

  • Used this vis for a guide last year and turkey came out fantastic! Frying another tomorrow and watched again today for a refresh. Thx!

  • @ani1mal7 Yay! I am happy this worked for you! Thank you very much for letting me know! I hope the second one was absolutely fantastic!

  • @karlosGuz07 I sure hope it did come out deliciosisimo! Thanks for watching!

  • So did the oil make a difference?

  • @Supadave7 I am not sure what you are asking but thanks for coming by!

  • Thx for the info

  • @warriorhero52 You are welcome! Thanks for watching!

  • Found this on another deep frying video:

How much oil: Put the turkey into the empty pot, fill with WATER so the water is just covering the turkey. Remove the turkey and mark the water line. This is how much oil you'll need.

  • @scarebearbonnie Thank you very much! Happy Thanksgiving!

  • how do you determine how much oil you would need in oder not to over flow the pot?

  • @916kills Thanks for coming by! The above viewer is right. You need to fill the pot with water after placing the turkey in it. Make sure it is covered completely. Take the turkey out and mark where the water is left. Empty it, dry it and then add that much oil. Happy Thanksgiving!

  • Watched this video last year to learn how together a turkey and it helped a lot in me frying my first turkey for thanksgiving. All my family and friends loved it. Thanks! Doing another fried turkey this year.

  • @OnerBash Awesome! I hope it comes out fantastic! Thanks for letting me know!

  • The seasons you use, can it be use for just regular baking?

  • @6urlnl3lue Yes. It will work great for a roasted turkey. Thank you for watching!

  • IVE TRIED IT ROASTED, FRIED, AND GRILLED . GRILLED IS THE BEST IN MY OPINION.

  • @playboy305 Thank you again for coming by!

  • Does peanut oil work better than vegetable oil? What temp does vegetable oil need to stay at? Thanks!

  • @bedward85 Peanut oil has a very high smoking point so it is ideal for this. Canola oil is another good choice. You need to keep the oil at 350 to 375 degrees, Thank you for coming by!

  • Thank you so much I've been wanting to try this for awhile, thank you!!! ;-)

  • @rogue67211 You are welcome! I hope you make this and it comes out fantastic! This is by far my favorite way to cook a turkey! Take care!

  • What do you put in your seasoning if you don't mind me asking?

  • @rogue67211 I rubbed this bird generously with garlic salt, pepper, paprika and cayenne. Thank you for coming by!

  • Try putting the rub under the skin next time. Way good!

  • @steveyagerfilms I will. Thank you!

  • Question: letting the turkey set on the counter for 25 minutes doesn't put it in risk for bacteria?

  • @steveyagerfilms It does not. You need to get this to room temperature so it will cook evenly and fast. Thank you very much for coming by!

  • Deep frying a turkey barefoot nice lol

  • @slrg13 Thank you very much for coming by!

  • so you know, say appetit like this "Appetee" dont pronounce the T at the end. Love your channel I just deep friend my first turkey last week from how you do it.. Thanks.. so there you help me I help you LOL

  • @htsxyfitblkm Great! Thanks! I am happy this helped! Have a wonderful day and I will practice my French!

  • dont you deep fry things in trans fat?

  • @theotherguy245689 You want an oil that has a very high smoking point for this. Your oil has to be really, really hot in order to cook this correctly. Otherwise, you will end up with a greasy bird. The high heat seals in the juices and the skin does not allow the oil to penetrate into the meat. So, peanut or vegetable oil is what you want. Thanks for coming by!

  • ilikethisvireo

  • @prateranita Thank you!

  • @prateranita why does my turkey come out rubbery

  • I got mad watching this because this got me so hungry I can go Hannibal lecter on my wife next to me as I write this.

  • @Rali272 I read this to my husband and he was laughing hard! Please refrain! Lol! Thanks for coming by and watching! I appreciate it!

  • @coronapeacock Thanks for the tip. Have a great week!

  • What do you do with the oil afterwards?

  • @JogBird I take it to the dump. Thanks for coming by!

  • DAM i want some :D

  • @XINIX100 Thanks for coming by! Happy 2011!

  • wow, i have prepared my turkey the wrong way already. I've done injected and rub my turkey down already and forgot to put the turkey in the pot with water first to get my oil fill line. Now what?

  • @johns2dev I hope this came out fine! Have a wonderful 2011! Thanks for coming by.

  • @pastryparrot1 it came out perfect i just used the oil fill line that was on the pot. even though they say never to trust it. and i had no problems at all. it came out right and tastes really good. thanks alot. happy new year.

  • @johns2dev And a Happy New Year to you too! Take care!

  • I'm gonna try making this for new years!

What else can i coat it in?

i never made deep fried turkey before or tasted or heard of it until this year.

and i live in the south.the deep south.

And boy it looks better than the beer brine turkey i did for thanksgiving!

  • @Forman6 I wouldn't add anything else to this rub. It is pretty good as is. Good luck with your turkey! I hope it comes out great. I love deep fried turkey. It is the best! Happy Holidays!

  • is there a certain type of turkey that can only be deep fryed. or can i use any kind of turkey. because i heard people say don't use butterball and etc. just trying to find out.

  • @johns2dev You can use any kind of turkey. Thanks for coming by!

  • Oh yeah!

    Member guys!

    no frozen turkeys!

Your oil will spill all over you.

  • 3/4 cup garlic salt, 1/2 cup black

pepper, 1/4 cup paprika and 2 tablespoons cayenne

Thanks for coming by and good luck to you!

  • @pastryparrot1 thanks

  • im gonna try this for the first time. but i am going to skip the injection part. and just rub it down. tell me what kind of rub you use in the video again. thanks.

  • That was what i was intially thinking but i inject the turkey the night before. The breast comes out perfect, thighs and legs come out undercooked and the skin comes out completely black and charred. I was thinking that next time i would let the temperature settle at 350 degrees for a few minutes then put the turkey or put the turkey in at a much lower temperature 250-300 and slowly let it reach 350.

  • @romeo1775 That is a good idea. Good luck Romeo! Take care!

  • PLEASE HELP. Every time i fry a turkey it starts to blacken not even halfway through cooking. Ultimately resulting in a completely black Turkey. I use 12-14 lb birds and use both injection and rub to marinade. Once the peanut oil is at 350 degrees i put the turkey in for 3 min per LB and it never fails to burn. I fry my turkey with a masterbuild propane fryer kit. What am i doing wrong?

  • @romeo1775 Hi Romeo! My first thought was you were using the wrong oil but you are not. The only thing I can think of is your marinade. I think you might be injecting the turkey in the breast and thigh area and not letting the liquid absorb. You have to let it rest for a good hour - preferably in the fridge - so that this does not happen. Maybe you could try frying one without injecting it at all. Try brining it the night before and drying it very well before you fry it. Hope this helps!

  • People please...........if you have never tried fried turkey..........PLEASE DO !!!! They are without a doubt the tenderest, most flavorful turkeys I have ever had.

  • Just wanted to let you know that I tried your recipe with the exception that i injected my turkey with marinade before adding the rub... Turkey came out juicy and delicious. I got nothing but compliments from la familia.... Thank you so much for the tip!!!!

  • @omar3799 YES! I am so happy to hear this! Thank you for letting me know! Have a great weekend!

  • Can you brine the turkey before deep frying?

  • @4DECO1 Yes you can. Just make sure you dry it well before putting it in the hot oil. Thanks for coming by!

  • oh whatever.. anything deep fried has way more fat...

  • Love the french tips!

  • Should i bake, fry, or smoke my turkey this year? Which is better?

  • @aLilBitOEverything Sorry this is so late! Any of these sound great! Which did you end up making?

  • I've deep fried a few turkeys, but never thought about seasoning it. I am going to try your mix!

  • @TheKstafford Awesome! I hope it comes out great! Happy Thanksgiving!

  • @Theoneandonly5811 Another great tip! Thanks! Happy Thanksgiving!

  • A good tip for frying.. just when your oil is ready, and you are going to drop the bird.. Turn the fire off, until the bird is submerged, then turn the fire back on. Just an extra safety point.

  • @kidnoz Great tip! Thanks so much! I appreciate you coming by!

  • Do you ever brine your turkey ?

  • @silentfades Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. You really don't need to brine it when deep frying. It comes out very, very moist. Thanks for coming by!

  • @pastryparrot1

Thank you for your kind reply

  • @silentfades My pleasure! Have a great week!

  • Great job! Really helpful. Thanks. Question: What is the deal with brining, and is this suggested?

  • @dinah259 Brining will hydrate your turkey and make the meat really moist. I always brine my turkey when I roast it. However, when I deep fry it I usually do not because the hot oil seals in the turkey's juices and it cooks very quickly. This keeps the meat tender and moist so I don't find it necessary. Thanks so much for coming by!

  • How big was the turkey you used?

  • @bonnierightnow I believe it was about 12 pounds. Thanks for coming by!

  • When your husband took the Turkey out, I was very impressed by the care he took with the Gloves, but can't figure out why the Heck he was bartefoot?

  • @pudentane777 Probably not the safest thing to do! Shoes are highly recommended! Thanks for coming by!

  • @pudentane777 I noticed that too.. i was like wow

  • thank you i think out of all the videos yours is the best : ). when you said frying oil is it vegetable oil ? my family and i want to fry one but the only thing that's holding us back is the peanut oil is to expensive : /

  • @chavoya972 Thank you so much for your comment! I appreciate your support. A lot! You need to use an oil that has a high smoking point. Safflower oil, Sunflower oil, and Canola oil are some good choices. Peanut oil can be very expensive! I agree. I hope this helps. Good luck with your turkey. If you decide to fry it you will absolutely love it! Take care!

  • what a cougar.. :D

  • Looks good..I always use peanut oil and I use injectable marinade also...after cooking I place mine in a large dish and cover with foil for 20 minutes...you can do this if you are driving to someone elses house and it will stay hot for 45 minutes to an hour

  • @steveyodog That is a great tip! Thanks for coming by!

  • peta

  • @Rescueswimmer85 Thanks:) It certainly is good stuff!

  • I got caught rubbing my turkey and tried to season my cavity with a carrot, but i found that it didn't explode in the oil because it was dry. Last time I did it a little wet and it just spurted everywhere.

  • You have an amazing voice

  • @IIROOKTII Thank you very much! I appreciate you coming by! Take care!

  • Your info. is great! After much research; I just purchased a Butterball Electric Turkey Fryer fr. Ebay & we have used it twice & absolutely love it! I did a small Turkey 2 weeks ago & yesterday cooked a chicken & we are hooked! So easy to use. Clean up is much easier & the results are fantastic!! • i didn't realize it was so dangerous

  • It can be so it is important to follow some safety rules. One big no-no which was pointed out to us by a friend is Peter should be using shoes and long pants! It certainly is worth it though! Thanks for watching!

  • Nice video Its going to be my first time so I want to do it right!!!!!

  • Good luck! I think you will like it! I would encourage you to wear shoes as you could burn your feet. Don't do as Pete did! Take care and happy cooking!

  • looks gooood :]-`.`

  • What deep fryer did you buy -- any recommendations? They're pricy so I'd like to buy a quality one!

  • Once you deep fry a turkey, it's the way you want to do it from then on. Moist & full of flavor. Plus, once your neighbors know you fry turkeys, your street cred goes way up!

I do so enjoy firing the fryer up and makin' a tasty bird!

    Great video!

  • Thanks! I agree completely! Nothing like the results of a deep fried bird! Thank you for watching and commenting. I really appreciate it!

  • This looks delicious. Thanks for the recipe.

  • It truly is! Thanks for watching!

  • What a beautiful looking bird..! 5 stars for Peter's tye~dye shirt and bare feet...

    Love it...

  • Hahaha . . . thanks! I'll let him know!

  • 10 stars! Thanks to you, I believe my friends and I will be trying this in a few weeks =].
