Jaworski still has the record in my opinion. NFL banned shoulder pad hits in 1998 and of course did a lot more bullshit on protecting white QBs. P. Manning, who knows if that guy would even make it in 1980's NFL. Archie was tougher. Archie could run too. Manning played 200 straight. No way could Manning or Brady do that in 1980's.Look it up people NFL banned shoulder pad hits in 1998.
..RON JAWORSKI, THAT STUPID FAT-FACED POLACK. HOW MANY TIMES ARE YOU GOING TO THROW IT TO ROD MARTIN BEFORE YOU REALIZE HE'S ON THE OTHER TEAM? ..HEY COACH, HE KEEPS RUNNING THE WRONG WAY......
Ron Jaworski always has sumn bad to say about Mcnabb and Vick. I hate that racist prick! Vick / Mcnabb are 10 times better and jawarski sucks! hes nothing to write home about. I heard he used to be a qb, just wanted to confirm just how much he sucked
@atlmycity2 You really must not watch football. Ron Jaworski is and was one of Mcnabbs biggests fans. He has nothing but great stuff to say about Mcnabb and Vick. Are you Kidding me. Have you ever watch a game were Mcnabb or Vick were playing and Ron Jaworski was the commentator. He stood up for Mcnabb and Vick when others trashed them. Get your facts straight before you call him racist. Maybe you are the one who is racist.
Yeah you got a good point they did get a "runner up" ring and they did lose a LOT of NFC championship games so thats gotta count for something, lol. I love it when eagle fans try to say those "championships" they won back when JFK was alive are just as good as a superbowl! I fall right out of my chair when i read that comeback! hahahahaha
NFL Network Presents 2000's Philadelphia Eagles Missing Rings
McNabb "We dominated in the 2000's decade, 5 division crowns, 5 NFC Title games but look at my fingers, I have no SuperBowl RIng, but its ok cause I dont really care if Philly wins a SuperBowl, I just cant come through in the Clutch, I Choke, simple as that, I Choke in Big Games"
Andy Reid "Im surprised im still the Coach here in superbowless town, I hope they Fire McNabb first than me, I need the Bail out Money for my Son"
Let me be blunt, the Patriots stole atleast two of the dynasty rings. They taped the teams practicing before the game, an illegal action. It's illegal because it give you the distinct advantage. They should have beat the Eagles by allot more considering the 1up they had on the Eagles, only 3 points.
This guy is the worst commentator ever. I watched The Ravens Packers game last night. This guy is so biased against The Ravens. It is difficult to watch. Fire this poser. What a joke.
What a good guy is Jaworski, and I've always liked what I've seen of him, from his early playing days through the present (2009 as an analyst). It's interesting that, at least from the evidence in this clip, he was more articulate in 1980 than he is now. Also, though he's far from a jerk now, he seemed like a nicer and more pleasant person then.
@Kingbub09 Ron's the man when i was a kid i had his Eagles card that said on the back his nickname "the polish rifle" and i was able to find the same card recently in great shape for 75 cents... this time i wont let it go. RJ #7 big fan. he was classy then and still is today. unlike these flashy ingrates playing today.
@Kingbub09 No doubt. I found his football card I had from my childhood in a used toy store that said that on the back. I also had a RJ card that said on the back he could throw a football throw a carwash and not get it wet. My favorite QB ever.
JAWS got the eagles to the super bowl they may not have been the most talented but they were well coached and had THE # 1 DEFENSE IN THE NFL that's what got them there.
I wouldn't talk bud. He may not be a pretty boy, but his job was to play QB, to look like a supermodel isn't apart of the job description. And he's done pretty well for himself. He owns several golf clubs, owned part interest of the AFL's Philadelphia based team, and does color commentary for Monday Night Football. If you wanna call him ugly that's fine, just don't forget to add rich before the word ugly bud.
? Are you delusional, retarded, or just plain stupid? What makes you think you can see me? And even if I was fat, so what? What do you have against fat people? You must think you're perfection or something, judging how other people look. Stop wasting your time and do something useful instead of bashing people online.
There should be more shows like NFL match up with Jaws and Sal Paolantonio. I hate all these fantasy football people who don't know shit about the actual game. X's and O's are what it's all about
Are you kidding me? He BLOWS!! See him in that "80 Superbowl? He found Rod Martin 3 fuckin times!! This guy sucked and he sucks even worse as a MNF annoucer!! Get a life eagles fag!! hahahhaha
I love the OLD SCHOOL Disco....When I was at Ft.Dix N.J; while at Boot Camp,in the Army,I took a week end trip to Philly and boogied my ass off at the clubs.
What a thoughtful guy. It is refreshing to hear an athlete speak so well without giving the cliche "one game at a time" bullcrap. You can see from this clip that he was going to be successful in front of a camera. Nice work!
JDLombardi, that song was "Rise" by Herb Alpert. It was an instrumental featuring trumpet as primary instrument. It was sort of an answer to "Feeling Good" by Chuck Mangione. Both instrumentals climbed high on the Billboard charts in the late seventies when I was a kid. This would NEVER happen today. The American public doesn't have the musical attention span or imagination anymore to appreciate good musicians at their craft. It's sad. And hey, I'm a ROCK afficianado.

Cool man, or should I say "smooooth". You know what I loved about Rise? The way it kinda sounds like it belongs at the calm aftermath of a Japanese monster movie. Like with the main characters standing on a bluff looking at the sunset. I really dug the last few repeating ambient blasts Herb gives at the very end. it's totally like he's sending the jam outwards, over the horizon, during the fade out. I think that's so cool you gave a reply. I started playing a Fender Strat at 34, and I'm IMMERSED
I wish he still talked normal like this instead of the "hyperactive" toolbox he sounds like now. I love his work and NFL Matchup is one of the best shows on TV, but that persona is annoying, almost to Dickie V proportions. And by the way, it certainly is a schtick that was clearly never there before he developed in on ESPN.
how is he related to robert jaworski pro basketball player in the phils. considered the living legend. bec. he played in his 50's playing coach of ginebra gin kings of the PBA.
i loved him as my local qb growing up, and have gorwn to respect him more and more. but the best value of this video is in seeing that his current NFL persona is as fake as dick vitale. i dont know why he decided to complement his knowledge with a bizarre hyperactive speaking style, but this proves its a fake persona
I don't think the "hyperactivity" is a put-on at all. I have a 1981 Sports Illustrated article on Jaws, and in the article his personality is described as very jovial and effervescent - having a "boy like" enthusiasm.
I read an article about how, after the 1980 season (Super Bowl year), he was a little bummed about losing, but had more of a "We'll get it next year" attitude, and that he was just happy to have had the opportunity to play the game professionally (he kinda refers to it when talking about coming from a small college).
I think he said his only regret was that they actually didn't return to the Super Bowl while he was there...
Yep, the 1980 Eagles. Great season 12-4 under the leadership of Coach Vermeil (he just retired from the Cheifs this past season). Even though they lost the super bowl that year, great team.
