  • Why is the Andromeda Galaxy in that picture?

  • 2 Tim 2:23-36

Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. And the Lord’s servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.

  • Many people have to cry out when seeing the universe via Hubble. They have to defend their rejection of a creator when it's staring them in the face! A picture of the universe testifies so loudly of a creator beyond man's limited scope & wisdom! Some men will not believe even if one were to come back from the dead, like Jesus who is still living after the Romans killed Him on a tree! The church leaders killed Jesus and put a huge boulder in front of His tomb which he escaped to live forever!

  • Flvplaya2000

Chistians minds are open god gave us an open mind

But an atheist mind can only go so far

An atheist mind goes as far as these galaxys you see

A Christian mind goes further then the galaxys before the " bigbang" and to the point when god created this universe

Christians are way more open minded

Sadly atheist can't see past the " big bang"

  • 1at of all u must be stupid to think all of this appeard on it's own 2nd of all the "big bang" theory is just rediculous. I'm sure scientist could come up with something better

What put that big ball of "spinning mass" there scientist are dumbfounded by this question

  • 1st of all god is a joke. no offensen to believers, but it's true what a crock. 2nd space is massive we dont truly know the actual size, hell there are still some things we still dont even know about our own planet. 3rd your an idiot if your think there cant be life elsewhere, I mean look at all the amazing and wonderful things on our planet from all the different speices that are here now. 4th I dont care what you think about what I have to say.

  • im just throwing this out there but for us to be able to see the big bang the universe must have expanded faster then the speed of light?

  • @THEROLLINNGDICE99 we would be able to percept the very first electromagnetic radiation (light) yes...... im kinda starting to get a grip of the actual unvierse and so on, cosmology.... deep stuff, but way more interesting than astronomy I say.....

  • this show sux so much i had to say itagain

  • Hahahaha Omg.... Is this really a SHOW!?!?! hahaha wat a shity host this is funny: "There . are uh. almost 15,000 thousand...uh million stars in each galaxy."

    "Yeh....Das a lot uf starss"

  • Its gotta end some where, And that's the big bang where it started witch hasn't even reached us yet O_O

  • 156 billion light years across that's just estimate by scientists the actual size nobody knows. It could be way bigger than 156 billion light years, in astronomy 1 light year is = 5.87 trillion miles long . If you calculate 156 billion x 5.87 trillion = 915.72 billion trillion miles long or 915.72 followed by 19 zeros. I bellieved the size of the Universe is infinity it means there is no end.

  • NO, the Universe is 156 billion light years across, not 78 billion light years.

  • thats the visible universe, the total universe could be infinitely big

  • how can it be more than 13.7 billion light years across if it's no older than 13.7 billion years...

  • doesn't guth's theory of hyper-inflation explain that the universe expanded faster than the speed of light due to the 4 forces of the universe (gravity, electro-magnetism, strong nuclear and weak nuclear) being 1 super-force during the very beginning of the big bang?

I could be wrong, but I think that's it

  • that'd make sense, i guess you explained it relatively well. can't say as much for that bendix guy though...

  • 13.7 billion years old has nothing to do with the size of the Universe. Go to w w w .space. com it will tell you the size of the Universe estimate 156 billion light years wide.

  • You know, with all of those other galaxies, it's kind of hard not to believe that there's no other life out there..

  • lol the guy holding the mike talks like hes high off his ass.

  • watch?v=JkxieS-6WuA&feature=channel_page

This is what I am talking about

  • Even Sir Issac Newton, one of the greatest minds to ever live on Earth, recognized that in thia highly precise, mechanical and clockwork universe that we reside in, had a master's hand.

  • So u see religion n science do go 2gether n r neither better than each other

(please dont criticize me harshly, im only a high school student n im still learning : D)

  • I don't think anyone is disputing that our consciousness (or soul) will continue to exist beyond life, but some people have just been brought into christianity from an early age and never really questioned it, which can lead to them finding solace in their faith and not having the courage or initiative to expand their minds.

I'm not saying any religion is wrong, but noone should allow their faith to dictate how they live their lives. That's just my opinion though

  • actaully catholicism n science go 2gether from a paper i read in class that

1)thanks to the holy spirit's gift of knowledge, we have discovered many scientific discoveries about the origins of life, evolution, n the universe

2)some things in science can't be proven n explained by facts n logic, which means they're probably created by a supernatural being, such as God.

  • Woah the beginning time...big bang...imagine that...

    -Portalfreak

  • As proven in quantum physics by the best scientists today, there are 11 paralell universes and the mass that gave origin to the big bang came from huge collisions between 2 parallel universes into our universe ( wich all 11 lives alltogether but in differente dimensions )

  • check your facts on that, because that is still a theory, it has not been proven, its a theory in the making

  • Brother this has not been proven yet, it is only one of many versions of string theory, there is about 5 or 6 acknowledged versions to string theory. The one you quoted is strong but still theory.Project CERN is trying to prove one of the versions of string theory to be true, I personally agree with he 10 dimension version as it collaborates with my religion Islam perfect as God stated there are 7 heavens above us, consider heavens being dimension and we living on the 3rd, 10th being 7th heaven

  • Worst video ever. Prepare or don't film.

  • Sadly Christians and ignorance have to spoil the wonders of the universe and science for the open minded people who live in reality.

  • Lol, I'm christian, and I agree with you.

  • I'm Christian but I'm also an aspiring astrophysicist. Not all Christians are close-minded.

  • Hubble Uzay teleskop

  • galaxy wallpaper re giden arstronot varmı?

  • Why do religious people (mostly christian) always have to butt thier heads in and say something?

  • @Zonemagorgo To save you from a mystifying hell! You probably don't even know why Jesus prefers to remain invisible? Want proof or are you always on the defensive complaining about the light exposing the darkness within you? Check out Miracle on the Mountain video on my site...A true missionary's prayers bring instant rain for a tribe dieing in Uganda! Answers to desperate prayer are a proof of God's existence including nature's proof of a creator. You didn't come from a pool of chemicals!

  • I don't know, why do you get to butt your head in and give an opinion? If you don't want opinions then turn them off or quit crying. It

  • 'faaasssscccccinaaaaaeeeeeettttinng'

  • Thats Soo Kool

  • The universe is more than 150 billion lightyears across. It took a picture of an almost microscopic amount of space from the naked eye and almost all of those galaxies were completly formed.

  • whoa ... that made me think a whole lot. i got confused lol...

but now i understand hmm takes time

    wow thats amazing

  • they dont know the size of the universe the universe is infinite

  • i think he means OUR GALAXY is 78 billion light-years across.

  • uhm no, our galaxy is ~100k light years across

  • the universe existed before the big bang! as i watch on science channel, the universe expands right? well after a few 100 billion years, Dark matter starts taking over, which will reverse the pattern, making universe Come back, crushing eveything back into 1 tiny little atom, then... BOOOM it starts all over again, it's called the cycle of life. get used to it. and they proved it on science channel that our universe is starting to change.

  • I would like to pose a question. Do you think we will ever know all the mysteries the universe has. Of course I'm talking about these learning about this after we pass on. Just food for thought. I actually believe if God exists and we are his creation, that he must care enough about us to reveal these things... What say you...

  • God doesn't care

  • Somewhere out there there is nothing, not even space.

  • prove it !

  • It is the void between Nancy Pelosi's ears.

  • haha and an 'accident' created all of this? for some reason im going with God here. and for big bang believers, where did the one or two atoms that created the universe come from?

  • Where did God come from?

  • God is a made up person that helped human being explain the universe during the dark ages.

  • in my religion, thats where faith comes in. but if u dont believe im not gonna force you to.

  • Stephen Hawking said that the question 'What was before the Big Bang?' which is the start of time, equals the question 'What's north of the North Pole?'

  • "haha and an 'accident' created all of this? for some reason im going with God here. and for big bang believers, where did the one or two atoms that created the universe come from?"

For some reason you need a reason for the atoms, but not for the God? Why is that? If God could have existed forever, so could the universe.

  • beautful and humbling. Just like the Being that created all this out of one thought.

How we forget thee in our sickness and ignorance.

  • terrible commentary, but the idea is good.

  • god does exist and he created everything you see in this video

  • Prove it

  • Can you prove he didn't?

  • prove that he didn't do what, sorry?

  • He didn't what ? of course he didn't , what ? sorry I didn't .. you and you didn't ..me.

  • very interesting.... fasssinaating.

  • That is faaaaascinating!

  • 78 billion lightyears across. That means that if our own milkyway would be 1 meter across, the universe would me 780 kilometer across.

78 / 14.7=5.3 billion lightyear expansion per human earthyear. wrong or right?

  • It's unimaginally big is basically the only good answer.

  • In 1995 it was a deep field picture with about 3,000 galaxies but, in sept. 2003 it was an ultra deep field picture taken with 10,000 galaxes in it. lol Peace.

  • That is Its 78 billion light years across.

  • Wow!! you learn something new everyday!!The universe is 78 Light years billion across.

  • lol, they look like stoners :)

  • hahah wtf? these guys cannot be serious hahaha this is the worst video ihave ever seen

  • if you guys rehearsed then this wouldnt be a bad video and buddy we are 156 billion light years in diameter not 78billion and some of most of those galaxies do exist and mickeysears that makes no sence you cant look at a whole veiw of something if your in it thats like saying you can see our entire earth by standing on its surface :]

  • lol no we aren't, at least not based on the most recent information.

  • you guy's didnt had anything prepared ¬¬

  • No, guys just seem very surprised :#

  • When you look out into space, they say you see millions or even billions of galaxies. Also the farther out you look, the farther back in time you'll see. I have a different thought. I think there aren't as many galaxies as we think. Yes we are seeing back in time so I think some of those galaxies we see is our own Milky Way as it appeared millions and billions of years ago. Maybe we are seeing our Milky Way several times but just farther back in history.

  • Light particles travels out from our galaxy. We know that even light bends around a gravity source. If our light particles were bent enough to be reflected back to us, wouldn't it be possible, we could be seeing ourselves from different angles at various stages of developement times each showing up as different galaxy images? Imagine some of the many galaxies we can see are the same ones but earlier versions of themselves the farther away it appears all the way back to their original dust clouds

  • yeah i spose, remembering that everything is moving and rotating at an incredibly fast rate our perception of things could easily be flawed.

being just our galaxy or ours and various other matter around it?.. i spose this is extremely possible. is this just an idea or and educated idea?, i mean i "think" i am well informed on space but im not an expert

  • also have u thought about variuos constructions of these galaxy's

  • If you think about it, seeing the actual big bang would not be possible because we are actually inside it. So the big bang would be all around us where ever we look. The only way to see it isif we were looking at it from outside from a great distance.

  • Take a ride through Hubble's space with the wizard at "The Edge Of Forever And Beyond The Infinite Universe" at gergie2

  • research from a paper in Physical Review Letters (2004) puts the size of the universe at 46.5 billion light years, not 78 billion. the hubble deep field was taken in 1995, the ultra deep field wasnt taken until 2003.

  • thats so crazy, we might be able to look back to the beginning of time and we're close to getting there

  • the image was taken in 2003 not 1995. and we don't know how long the universe is.

  • Not so. As a matter of fact the beginning of time is all that we can see; time begins now. The big bang is not something that happened, but something that is happening...or conversely the big crush (that equal and opposite reaction).

  • we will never be able to see the beginning of time cause the edge of the visual universe is moving away from us at a speed faster than light.therefor it can never reach us.the galexy's we just seen will one day be to far 2 see!

  • The beginning of time is all we see... time always begins now. the big bang is not something that happened, but something that is happening...either the big bang is happening, at any rate, or the big crush as equal and opposite reactions go.

  • Not really true cause this photo is the universe over 10 billion years ago!!iI can see it just fine.

  • RoFl... i don't comment much... what a noob...double posting...

Yes, you can see it just fine... right now. Regardless of the relative age of the light, the moment at which you observe it is the beginning of its being. The universe does not exist without an observer.

  • not true. sure the universe is expanding but its not going that fast yet, not even close. and the leading people in this area are getting big bucks to look at this kind of thing . but we will only be able to see as far back as the universe cooled to the point that matter could radiate light. anything beyond that is still down to maths. its funny how all the billions of yeas is pretty well understood up to the first few millionths of a second

  • true. but in the first 10^-43 seconds, the actual laws of time and space were being contructed, so that current physics breaks down at this point and maths doesnt work. string theory hopes to supersede that and not only predict all the way to t=0, but give an actual reason for the big bang.

people who dont find this stuff fascinating really shit me to tears. they'd rather watch funniest home videos. good to see theres people with vision out here in youtube.

  • thanks ighfee, but art there many different string theory's? its been a while since i saw any good documenterys on it so im a little rusty.but i like the membrain idea of wave like structures peariodicly clashing together causing multiple big bangs with many universes

  • well according to 'the elegant universe' by brian greene, branes may well be the cause of the big bang. if strings are what they seem on paper and some, like the graviton, are not nailed down to our local brane, we may even be able to communicate with other life on other branes by sending strong gravity waves. as if our own universe wasn't enough eh! lol now they think our may be one of many in a multiverse, or 'the bulk'.

  • oh, the many string theories i think you're referring to was when they had 5 of them. edward witten developed m-theory to bring them together into one single framework. so there's now only one string theory, free from anomalies.

the BIG problem with strings, is they are so small (the planck length actually) that there is little hope of ever seeing one directly. they have to think of a way of either observing the string directly or by detecting its presence in ways predicted by theory.

  • interstring, yes.

    does it matter, yes

but how does it change anything`?

what more can we do now that we couldnt do befor here on earth exept the fact that we can se alot of stuff what does that stuff tell us? nothing or is there another thing we are looking for, if we find other life

    then what?

    i just want to know

im nit saying lets not find out,

    im saying what then?

  • well, it inspires mankind to reach out and explore. if the moon wasnt so close and etailed, we never would have went there. space exploration is in its infancy now, and we probably wont even send man beyond the solar system for the next 500 years, but we will eventually go. and it'll be based on the science we're building now.

  • remember, man just didn't go and set foot upon the moon one day. it was centuries of physics that eventually got us there, the moon landing was just the culmination of all that effort.

  • I think the technology was already there it's just that they don't wanna show it right away.

  • I found it intersting I'll give it 4 stars

  • YOU ARE MORONS,Dont Waste our time.

  • Fifteen hundred thousand million?

  • lol thats awsome fucking idiot the end of the begining of time lmfao

  • i love this stuff but that guy had his numbers way wrong lol

  • agree

  • Haha they are so high.

  • we are? News to us.

  • This is really cool.

  • That was cool!! :D
