  • i recently stumbled on your videos.. and what i love is how when you look at the camera your eyes are like just purple (or whatever color you have on in other videos) and then you look down and BAM! it's just a surprise of color[: ha i just love that!

  • I can't believe someone would actually come up and tug on your hair like that! And especially if they had the intention of pulling a wig off.

I dyed part of my hair teal a while ago, and I can't believe some of the comments I get. "Ugh, why would you do that to yourself!"

My answer is always, "It's the same as dyeing my hair any other color. I did blue because it makes me happy! And the best part is, it's not permanent like a tattoo or piercing."

It's unbelievable how rude some people are.

  • subscribe!

  • That's tru about the blue black cause I have to do mine about every 6 wks, cause it fades to a dull shade.

  • You are my hero for hair and makeup <3.

  • thank u and I love the new way to put on the lashes....thanx again

  • im taking cosmetology at my higschool and we just started learning about hair color ahhh sooo many things to know lol

  • Talco powder works too

  • I have that and about to dye my hair with it. (The exact Jet Black ion)

  • Ohh ill be dying devilish soon. I dyed my girlfriends hair atomic pink and it lasted SOOO long. it was amazing. she got over 4 months from it! Great info. How did you get if over 10 mins? Bowls and clips are sooooo handy to always have. Great video!!

  • i was hoping you could answer two quick questions. i want to dye my hair cotton candy pink, and i know i'm going to have to bleach first. is there any particular product i could use to put moisture back into my hair? also, i use herbal essences shampoo, do you think i'll wash the pink out fast?

  • haha your pretty.. love your make up =D i'd be so happy if i could do that

  • I love your hair! :D :#

  • you're so awesome!

  • WHERE can I find that pink hair color of yours??? PLEASE tell me!!! I really want it :)

  • Amazon just look up "Special Effects Hair Dye Atomic Pink" It coems out to like $16.26 with shipping

  • thank you ^^ I really like the color! do I need to have my hair bleached before doing it???

  • If you want it to look bright like how she has it, then yes you need to bleach it first

  • i feel your pain. my natural hair color is dark brown. i've been dying my hair for about 5yrs. i recently went platinum. everyone that i know tugs on my hair to see if i'm wearing a wig. it hurts!

  • won't sulfate free shampoos make your hair greasy? I've been using loreal everpure shampoo and it does not do anything to clean my hair.

  • omg... My natural haircolor is the same pale dark blonde as yours lol I want to dye it light golden blonde :)

  • I just went to a salon to get my hair dyed blonde on the bottom and leave the top black. And man did they ruin my hair. Its still healthy but she left it yellow and white and patchy. I wish you were near me I would of asked u to do my hair. Your hair looks awesome!!!

  • "is that a wig?" *tug*

girl we are on the same boat

people need to learn some manners.

  • @SesuMatsui i agree! SO RUDE!

  • I'm a new subscriber and your foundation looks amazing and flawless! Love the make up!

  • Please don't think I'm hitting on u by saying this,but u r a sexy thing! I love the pink hair.Rock on! xoxo, Christina

  • haha... i love ur personality

  • whens your contest??

  • OMG I can't believe ppl touchyour hair to see if it is real.....

If you still have migraines you might want to try "head on" .. it helps me

  • a lovely look! thank you for making this world so much more colourful ;)

  • i was wondering where you got your l'anza products, i went online and couldnt figure out how to get it to the US. maybe im just missing something but could someone help please? :]

  • I get mine at salons that sell lots of products, like Trade secrets, or Pure Beauty

  • Comment removed

  • OMG! they have some new stuff that smells LIKE HEAVEN!

  • your eyes look yummy! =)

anyhow im usin l'anza right now too~ im not very experienced with other sulfate free shampoos. is l'anza the best?? cuz i've tried pureology and i think that sucks~

  • L'Anza is VERY good, if You're happy with it, I'd say stick with it. BUT it is really good for your hair to switch it up at least every 4 weeks. I usually have 2 shampoos and I switch out every other wash

  • This video is very Helpful for me ;D

I bleached my hair then dyed it blue.

I use Pantene for colored hair. I'ma

bout to check the ingredients to see

    if it contains Sulfate.

  • Yup, Pantene for colored hair does

have Sulfate in it. Does anyone know

    any shampoo/conditioner that doesn't

contain Sulfate that could be found at

    a drugstore??

  • umm just look at the shapoo for color hair then look at the ingridents to loo kif it has sulate in it? a 13 year old mind came up with that.

  • loreal came out with one recently called ever pure

  • Thanks! :D

  • Ion Color is okay, for me the color fades too fast. Try Wella, it's the same price and so much better quality.

  • yeah, I think next time I will.

  • A great tip for people who have damaged hair that isn't taking color well is to use a protein filler. They come in little bottles at Sally's and make your hair uber soft and take color but much better. They have colored ones (that are tinted) and neutral ones (to use with any color) but the neutral seem to work a bit better in my opinion. The best way to use it is to pour it on your hair, let it sit for about 20 minutes, and then dye as usual. Just my two cents :-P

  • I'll have to try that. Thanks.

  • Also using baby powder on the hair (rubbing it in till you can't see it) when it gets somewhat dirty is a good tip.

  • WOW! Thank you for loving L'ANZA! We are honored!

  • i have no intentions to ever dye my hair a crazy color, and we have totally different styles, but i could not stop watching! great job! very informative and presented well.

  • You and I have the same natural hair colour. Haha. And the same problems with people talking about roots etc. Bright colours for the win!

  • A friend of mine is going to have her mother dye her hair bleach blond.Right now she has the icky dark blond hair that I used to have (I dyed it auburn,to bring out my eyes more, but anyways) and her hair doesn't hold color well.I was wondering if you had any advice for her.

  • Baha, i hate having full pink too. It's nice seeing some regrowth in my pink. ;x

  • Batiste dry shampoo is amazing. in the UK its costs like £2. :) also a uk brand lee stafford from BOOTs is really good too :)

  • I get migraines too... You can put hot water bottles on your temples and on the back of your neck... It helps my migraines and I don't have to kill my hair lol Hope they get better!

  • does your rockaholic can weigh like, nothing?

  • um, no? But it's too much money! I just found out about Batiste, and it's SUPER cheap and they have TONS of smells! it's like 6 dollars at sally's beauty supply!

  • really, someone else told me that Batiste weighs almost nothing like my Rockaholic? so weird! but yeah, once I finish my can I'm deffinitly switching to Batiste!

  • You would be amazing with all black hair.

    I mean it.

  • during chirstmas '08 i had red hair and my bangs were green. immediately when i washed it the tips of my bangs turned purple. now my hair is platinum blonde again and much more healthy. now i want to do two or more colors so is there any way i can avoid the colors mixing?

  • you could wash the two color separately, but that can be a royal pain.

  • Thanx for all the info. . .

  • I ,like the fact your roots are showing it looks totally different and suits u x

  • The part when you sad that people go up to you and touch your hair , that's exactly what happens to me . haha . I started dyeing my hair when i was twelve too . :D

    I love your vids . :]

  • It really want to, not expectly wash, but just make it wet. I like to have wet hair. Then my whole head feels fresh. I know that it's just in my head. But make it wet is also bad isn't it?

  • YOu can do that if you want, but then you'll of course have to re-style it. you do whatever feels right for you. For me, it's difficult to restyle dirty hair.

  • Yes, in the end its worse to my hair, because I need to straightnen it every day. But I just like to make my hair wet. I use shampoo like: - shampoo - just make it wet - shampoo. It's hard for me because i dyed and bleached my hair to many times, and now I want not-dyed hair, I did'nt dye it now for 3 months, but the roots are after one day messy, and the rest of the dyed hair dry. So difficult, but i will cut al my dyed hair off in October....

  • Unfortunately, many shampoos have sulfates in them even many salon brands like TIGI or Redken.

  • Yeah, you kinda have to seek them out. L'oreal just came out with a line of sulfate-free shampoos that cost 7 dollars at target ^_^

  • I have almost black hair and i wanna go to a copper red , would i have to bleach it? thanks!

  • the developer you use to color your hair should lighten it enough, but I don't know for sure.

  • I would bleach your hair... black is stubborn to remove. Get any bleach and try 20 volume first.

  • Is your hair naturally black or dyed? If dyed, you will definitely have to bleach. If it's natural, it may work, but it depends how light you wanna go.

  • Have you tried the N'Rage dyes?

They're permanent dyes that bleach and color in one application. They come in pink and purple..they had a blue, but I think that was discontinued. They're supposed to last way longer than a semi or demi-permanent color.

You can get them at Sally's. I bought the purple but I haven't used it yet...

    Awesome tips! I'm really glad I watched this one. ;}

  • NO, I haven't tried those. I've had such good results with what I use/do and I've found that sometimes permanent dye fades just as fast as semi-permanent.

  • I've used these. Love them. They come in pink, purple, red, and blue. They do stay longer than semi-permanent colors and work really well and when they start to fade, you can just throw semi-permanent in a similar shade over it.

  • I got asked if I was wearing a wig too, but that person actually asked before sho touched my hair and gave me so many compliments about it that I didn't mind. ^_^ She was so sweet and said to my mum that she should be proud of me, ha.

Really like your videos btw, just subbed ^^

  • LMAO Yeah, I get people doing the same thing with my hair. I never had it happen when I had blue hair for a year though, but after I did the pink hair it was like everyone wanted to know if it was a wig. haha. I think your hair looks gorgous.

  • this was GREAT thank youu !! =D

you should deff. do a video on bleaching you hair i know ALOT of people could use that!!!!

    =D

  • BEST hair dying tip ever: use a protein filler, it distributes the color evenly so you don't have like an uneven amount of light and dark tones to your hair. my mommy has been dying my hair since i was like 15 and she always did that :) [she's a hair stylist]

  • Can you buy L'anza in stores or do you have to order it all online?

  • I buy mine at Salons

  • Have you tried manic panic dyes? I've been debating whether to get the SE atomic pink or the manic panic hot hot pink.

  • Manic Panic dyes tend to fade quickly on me. I say go for the SE!

  • "Oh no you did not just touch my hair!" This made me LOL! Love your vids, great info.

  • Bleaching out hair is an art.

    Great vid :)

  • Im fourteen and I've been dyeing my hair since I was like 11 almost 12 so I understand where you're coming from when you said there's a reason people go to school for hair.

  • how do you do your makeup its soooooo cool

  • how awesome! i use special effects also. it's the best hair dye i've use so far. Other dyes either fade quickly or they don't come out the same color as it supposed to be.

  • girl fuck every1 else your fucking amazingly awsome u rock

  • hi! I have a question about mixing colors.

I recently bought 4 boxes of loreal preference hair dyes(I have waist length, thick hair) but since they were on sale, there were not many left and I couldn´t find two same shades. So I bought one jet black, one black with violet undertone, one dark brown with violet undertone and one blue black. Haha, I couldn´t resist the offer ($2!!)Do you think it´s a good idea to mix them all?and if so, what do you think would be the outcome? Thank you

  • I mix colors all the time! my Stylist did it for me once too! But I really can't say what the outcome would be, but it seems like it will be a very dark, if not black -cool toned color.

  • It'll come out black with blue undertones more than likely, since you have 3 blacks and a dark brown.

  • Eek. I've been messing with dye for years and years and I've always heard you NEVER mix permanent dyes. You will come out with weird shades. Salon color and semi-permanent colors are alot different than boxed hair color. I know it's completely safe to mix semi-permanent colors though. This is just what I've heard so I may be wrong, but if it were me, I wouldn't risk it.

  • Loved the tutorial and didn't mind the video being long at all! Infact, I enjoyed it and appreciate your time. As always, you look amazing..pretty makeup=]

  • i work at Sally's Beauty Supply, we need more people like you to work there! i swear most of the people i work with have no idea what they're talking about. great job!! xo

  • LOL! And here I need a job, LOL!

  • and i'm like, "Oh no...you did NOT just touch my hair!"

lol girl you're the best. love your makeup and hair tips keep them coming! :D

    <3miss__Leslie

  • Thank you for mentioning how you wash your hair in the shower and for talking about dry shampoo. I've been wondering about this for a while as I too color my hair and was glad to get your input on it. Thanks for all the info and for another great video!

  • I honestly didnt think i could sit through a twenty minute video, but i did. haha, that was really helpful i'm gonna go buy that dry shampoo today =)

  • well, I'm glad you did. I KNOW it's a long video, but I really had a lot to cover, and I skipped some stuff, Like my bleach.

  • where do you get your bleach?

  • at sally's beauty supply.

  • Hiya, I have 2 questions :-) Do you have/( know where) a photo of you're haircut online? I love the cut but if I try to explain it to my hairdresser it'll turn out totaly different than how I want it.

I've got an oily scalp so I use dry shampoo a lot too. I've been wondering if dry shampoo is damaging in any way?

    Thank you you're a doll :-)

  • I don't have any pics of my current hair cut no. I did this myself and HONESTLY it's a hack-job. i do have pics of my old hair cut (from December) on my old blog vintageortacky. blogspot. com

  • Thanks for share your tips!!! I love your hear and this summer i wanna dyed in purple.... Thanks really... XOXO

  • ITA Special Effects is the BEST!!

  • kaye.. noooow.. how did you cut yo bangs?!

  • with a razor, LOL. It's too difficult to explain though text. and I'm not really sure I know who to even verbalize it. i'VE BEEN DOING IT FOR YEARS.

  • haha, i see. is it just a normal razor? or like one of those hair razor things? i've been using hair thinning scissors for my bangs every once in a while and then sometimes i'll over do it and end up looking kinda anime-ish. lol.

  • Thank you so much.

  • I LOVE DIRTY SECRETS!! smells friggin amazing!!

  • i have blonde hair with some brown in it and atomic pink underneath my natural hair color is dark brown almost black

i really need to redo it though >.>

i wash my hair in cold water and i'm amazed at how long my pink has stayed in - it's probably been nearly 2 months and my pink still looks pretty good

  • atomic pink is SO LONG LASTING!

  • yeah and i used maybe 1/4 of the bottle

    it is amazing! =D

  • u r soooo BEAUTIFUL and u have great eyes!!

  • aw, thank you.

  • I love special effects. My hair is dark brown naturally and I have never bleached/dyed it but the nuclear red shows up as if I had naturally blonde hair and stays in for over 2 months

  • Ugh.....:(

We Have The Same Colour Of Hair,

    And You Called It Ugly.....:(

  • i'm sorry. I really hate the way it looks on me! I honestly envy people who can pull it off.

  • ooh thanks:D

yea my hair is pin straight to so yea:P

  • i just went from super dark brown, to blonde. ive had to dye it three times to get it pretty blonde. but it still a strawberry blonde, what can i do to get rid of brassy ness? like the video talked about violet or blue tones..which should i use

  • That all depends on how light you are - toners only work if your light enough. You can also just try purple shampoo if you are a little bit brassy.

  • honestly, I've never done that. did you dye t or bleach it? you may want to give your hair a rest, it needs to recover from the damage before you do more to it.

  • why dyig ur hair from the box products is worst that seperated?

  • well, when you buy them separate, you get to pick the developer, and generally, there are better color options.

  • how does hairspray, pomade, and mousse effect the hair color?

  • I've noticed that hairspray seems to make my color fade faster, but I don't use it that much.

  • It's because a lot of hairsprays contain alcohols and other ingredients that can be drying, which causes your color to fade faster :)

  • I have that tint brush:) love the eyeshadow look, and great video. I'm a hair junkie as well, right now I'm stuck in my red phase.

  • I love this video! You are so much fun to watch and I really hope we're going to meet one day! Luv you to pieces!

  • Get Your Butt to Cali Mister sister. My couch has your name on it!

  • I love L'Anza! I work in a salon and this is what the stylist I work with recommended it.

  • Thanks! I was wearing a brown shirt just like this yesterday but it was just brown and wished it was cuter like yours!

  • Omg, I hate it too when people touch my hair.

    I'd be like, b*tch, don't touch!

  • apparently, if You have colored hair, you must also be wearing a sigh that says " please touch my hair...it's yours to inspect."

  • lanza is freakin expensive..that tiny leave in conditioner is for freakin 22 dolars here in canada(plus tax).......

  • i used the lanza trauma treatment...LOVE that product......my hair went through alot But using that trauma treatment leave in conditioner my hair didnt damange ever at all...still healthy and shiny!!

  • Lol....u started when u were 12..MY MUM WOuld have killed me ..like literally KILLED ME!

  • Oh my mom was all for it. and my gramma tells people I'm a real redhead...

  • Poor Natasha (myeyeshadowisodd) needs to watch this, Cora you should make her...after I watch her dye her poor poor dead hair :( It's sooo dead LOL

  • OMG ! I have pink hair too and people ALWAYS ask if I'm wearing a wig ! So annoying !

  • baking soda is also cheap and a good dry shampoo.

and if you have oilier hair, ( i mean within 24 hours of washing, it's already stringy) try some lemon concentrate to dry it out, but I don't recommend frequent use, because part of oily hair is overproduction of oils because your head thinks it's dry, so try a mild shampoo (Suave daily clarifying) and the first few weeks, it'll seem oily, but it will clear up and be more manageable.

  • the cheepest dry shampoo i think u can get is baby powder. just put it in and comb it out, u can go up to a week without washing your hair and people cant tell.

  • yeah....I can't stand that baby powder smell though.

  • ilove how everytime you blink i get that pop of color its so pretty!

  • I LOVE YOUR MAKE UP!!!!

  • you know, i don't really care to know about hair color care because i simply don't dye it but because you are so enjoyable to watch, i watched this :]

regardless, those were very handy tips & as always, your make up is hottttt :D

    can't wait for more videos ! <3

  • wow, thank you! I feel honored!

  • i like ur makeup its cute !!!

  • u r beatifulll!!!

  • esta chica es muy guapa

  • Love the eyemake-up, and a very helpfull vid.

  • omg I hate when people touch my hair and ask if it's a wig or extensions! I'm with you on that lol, I like having roots when I have a crazy color on the top.

  • you're so cute :)

  • Check out MY crappy video LOL

  • When you do the eyeshadow tutorial for the look in this video, could you please put which colors you used in the 88 pallet in the sidebar. You could use column and row numbers/letters to do a quick description. I have MAC, but more than likely, I don't have all the colors you are gonna use in the tutorial. I would greatly appreciate a brief description of the cheaper alternative. Thanks! :)

  • Part of the Point of that video will be to show the dupes, and it's for the 120 palette ^_^

  • Okay! Awesome. Thanks so much! :)

  • I think your hair looks awesome&unique. The reason I say unique is bcuz of how far up u start the black.that's my favourite part.usually I c ppl.start the underneath color at ear level or wutev.& I personally like the way u do it better.luv ur mu 2! <3<3

  • Don't listen to what anyone says, as long as you love your hair, go with it. people who leave rude comments are unhappy in their lives, just feel bad for them.

you make wonderful video's, with great information. love you mixed shadow colors in this video!

    .at

  • THANK YOU! you're so sweet.

  • i have platinum blonde hair :p im 17 i've been dying and cutting my own hair since i was little lol i love your hair btw :)

  • your videos are so informative! and im loving the hair and makeup<3 have you ever just dyed the tips of your hair? i was thinking of dying mine lime green after i get my hair done at a salon.

  • no, i've never just done the tips.

  • Oh wow, I didn't even know dry shampoo even existed. Awesome.

  • Honestly, your hair would rock with Black roots! When I went black and had bright/neon highlights, black roots looked awesome. I just used temp root cover in black, you can find at Sallys and sometimes Wal-Mart. Try it - you can always wash it out! :) Bet it would look great. ;)

  • Hm, I think i'll give that a shot.

  • holly smokes ! your eyeshadow is ammazing!!

  • Golly, I've made the mistake (actually I knew what would happen, I was just lazy) of not wearing gloves... I had to use toothpaste and this heavy duty orange soap to get the dye off my hands.

I need to fade as much as possible at the moment before dying again. Bleh. (I've had every color so far, been dying only for a few years now)

  • If you want to make your hair color fade, then whenever you're taking a shower, leave your shampoo/conditioner in for a loooong time. The chemicals should strip away some of the hair color.

  • also, you can use a color remover like color fix

  • I'm loving the eye makeup!

  • have you ever tried the brand "pravana"?

i know its hard to get a hold of if your not licensed but i dont know if you are or not...

    xo

  • omg, I know this one chick who used Pravana and her hair stayed the same color for 6 whole months!! It barely even faded...it was amazing. =]
