I drive a stryker... Not an MGS but one of the ICV's for 2ID 4-23 B co. I hate these things.  It's a death trap. They break down constantly, RWS always has faults with our MK19 mounted on it. REALLY wish we could get something better over here on Ft. Lewis.

the Stryker is not very movile, it can go on roads and flat surfaces but not in extreme terrains, and its gun is useless as a infantery support. We seen serveral Strykers rolling off extreme cliffs in iraq since is not stabile in extreme offroad,

look at bmp3 it can go anywere and it can even drive in waters and its turret is far better.

@gsava3rd Apparently the engine used by the Stryker family of vehicles is extremely quiet, in addition to being a wheeled rather than tracked vehicle. It's probably why they said it's stealthy: the low-noise generated that is claimed these vehicles have would allow them to maneuver in areas with low visibility without being heard unless they get close or starts firing.

The Stryker is good for assault but do not have adequate armour against rpg. It should be made a tank cum apc like the merkava 4. Waste of material if just use as armoured car. 3 road system is good enough, the vehicle is too high and not stable when firing it main gun. Its worthiness shall be known if used in Afghanistan or Iraq.

It's a Swiss design, even the Canadians are using it (LAV-III), it performs well, and does it job superbly.

One of the guys I worked with wanted to feel that kind of chill on his skin, left his glove off for 10 minutes and ended up with mild frostbite. 6 months was plenty long enough for me in those conditions let alone 2 years.

And yeah, if you're to survive that kind of climate, you need layers, because there's no such thing as modern weather gear. How do I know? Because I've lived above the arctic circle for 2 years and have undergone arctic training with the Swedish Arctic Rangers. But please, you're probably an expert in this matter, go ahead.

Arctic conditions my ass. He's wearing a thin jacket, a wool hat and a shirt underneath. When you're in the real Swedish Arctic where it's -30° celsius, you can't have any skin showing, you need layers and layers of clothes and there's more than an inch of snow. If this is the American version of arctic tests, no wonder the M1A2 Abrams and the M3A3 Bradley performed so poorly during the evaluation tests in Sweden and Norway.
