  • HOLY CRAP! did u also have crosswinds?

  • Listen to that turbo prop spooling! What a monster!

  • The absolute best airplane in the entire world. Great video!!

  • Is there a McDonalds at the terminal yet..?

  • Ya scared the shit out of my mom.

  • That didn't look like it stopped!

  • GREAT! WOW, very impressive!!!

  • WOW that's short!!! I didn't even see the runway in there for the longest time. That's an awesome video.

  • my god dis z awesome! wth my instructor this is a defiantly a overshoot, up 2 what number u descend?

  • Whoa. Whoa! Whooooooaaaaaa!!!!!!!!

  • gratulation to the pilot

    greeting from bavaria/germany

    Hans

  • I love the Porter and the Twin-Otter. Great machines for this work.

  • I remember something like that in "Air America" with Mel Gibson

  • Now how about takeoff?

  • @stachowi

No problem for take off : on a mountain runway, the take off is only in descent: acceleration is fast, aircraft in the air in 50m...only the landing is a bit difficult but need a faster approach as on a horizontal runway...no error allowed, restart is impossible (to much climb)

I kow that but i practice mountain runways with my ultralight skyranger ...

  • Wow, nice flying!

  • i saw that smiling face!!!! i would have still been white knuckled!!!

  • That was as near a perfect landing as I have ever seen ... Those Porters are amazing planes ... The Pilatus PC-12 is a dream plane too.

  • I've jumped out of many of these and one of the best airplanes ever. The plane will beat you to the ground and picking up a second load.

  • Is that engine whining up in the air you putting reverse thrust on?

  • that was crazy

  • Really cool even if you don't like planes...Pilatus Porter

  • the real "Air America" (film)

  • oh also.....anyone who liked this vid....just might like some scenes from a movie called 'Vitus' excellent PC-6 stufff.

  • We fit 11 in a porter.

  • Stall warning horn on just at touch down, text book landing. Its how its done. No floating, Land and stop. That airplane is made for that sort of thing.

  • Man that's impressive, got to commit, no going round on that approach surely? How many hours flying to get to the stage where you could feel confident doing that?

  • go around ?

  • Gotta love the "whew, we didn't die" facial expression from the pilot.

  • Priceless expression on his face at the end :-D

  • camouflage runway... :D

  • Hold'er Knute, she's headed for the rhubarb patch!

    Nice flare.

  • lol sounds like stall...dangerous ;) but nice landing and nice terrain

  • How much coke can you lift from that runway?

  • Probably wouldn't go down very well in a muslim country!

  • @leofrankfurter loool

  • i seen shorters before.. but nice landing!

  • that's flying!

  • does he have reverse on that? beta or whatnot

  • drugs by the looks of it plenty coke but i hope is hi grade

  • a cessna, piper cub, cresco, and other planes can land very short

  • They don't carry any payload

  • sorry dude, full load it was..

  • @demusch They do too. You need to read up on them.

  • @demusch Wanna bet?

  • Where's the runway?

  • taking off must suck.

  • Either that, or be fun as hell.

  • Maybe....but considering the runway has a slope in theory it SHOULD help the pilot lift off the ground a bit faster. Depends on what type of plane he's flying in....all planes have different characteristics of STOL.

  • nice man

  • if i am not the pilot, i might shit in my pants coz that is a short landing...

  • woooohh .. that was damn short man

  • not that happy with the go-around options!!

  • a porter could do it, not sure about any other aircraft though...

  • well done =D

  • stall?!!!

  • Cool landing. Let's see a cool takeoff.

  • lol stall just before touchdown

  • That's just the stall warning tone. The plane doesent stall, its just nearly stalling.

  • ok thx for explain

  • I would not want to hear that stall warning any sooner!

  • beep beep hahaha nice job!

  • Omg, that was a brilliant touchdown for that steep dive before touchdown!!! Well Done

  • WOw - that must be fun to take off from aswell! Great Job!

  • I watched your other vid too , good pilotting! Not a whole lotta room for error, bieng elevated around the strip !!

  • Great approach and landing!

  • granda pouso, sem pista, meus parabens, grande piloto

  • wouldn't need 2 slow down!

  • amazing

  • Wow, like the shot in 'Air America'-only being in the passenger's seat! More Pilatus!

  • WOW I could hardly see the landing spot amazing!!!

  • That made me start sqirming in my seat and I was not even in the airplane. It is awesome what you guys can do with those planes. 280 meters and +20ISA WOW!!!! Please make some more videos there educational

  • correction, elevation 4000 feet, not 40000.. ciao,crazyket

  • without the GPS is the only way to get familiar with all the mountains.. GPS is AIDING pilots, those who trust GPS as primary navigational means are taking very big risks.. if it fails.. then what are you going to do.. a small advice; ALWAYS have a plan B and never put your trust into only GPS.. and to answer the question regarding the amount of slope.. 7% at this strip. 40000 ft AMSL, ISA + 20 celcius, 280 meters long. almost always slippery & also side slope. kind regards from Marc, the pilot

  • Without a GPS you would never find that place! Wow!

  • puta q pariu..q pelada da porra....se cravar o pé no freio...essa porra ainda pilona...tô fora..GO around!!

  • very nice demonstration of pilot's skills.

  • wow im impressed how fast it stalls. Im used to flying decked out 182`s big engines big tires. stall really slow.

  • DAMN.. I felt like I was gonna end up in the bush. lol I've been into many very small bush runways myself in Canada. But none with slope like that... is the slope causing the illusion of a high approach? Because it look like a high approach.

  • Up-sloping and wider runways make it seem like one is higher. Downsloping and narrow runways have the opposite affect.

  • Yes I know.. but I can't tell how much slope the runway actually has... just looks like a steep approach.

  • gaed almighty I wish I could have one of those....

  • one of those, like you say so easily, requires you to be a pilot before, and you can forget about this, better buy one of those bicycles first, LOL

  • that plane is so fakking awesome...!
