This game had depth. The sheer amount of moves you could pull off with 2 buttons was amazing. That and the ability to punch forward and kick backward. It really felt like you were working people over good.

@TheXponentsInc actually midway was the maker of mortal kombat but when they made the home console games akklaim ported them to the super nintendo,genesis,game boy,game gear etc. that was only in the early 90s when mortal kombat 4 and forward came out midway started publishing them. one thing that akklaim did more often then actually developing(making) the games was publishing them. personally i hate the idea that the publisher gets all the credit when they didnt even make the game!

Still have it, still play it, still love it. No, it wasn't like the arcade, but it was less a downgraded port than just a really excellent game in its own right. I don't know if it was the best action game ever, but it makes the short list as the best of the NES Double Dragons, and is up there with River City Ransom in my all-time faves.

it's just cover art. people recognize her being saved from part 1. otherwise, it would just be another fighting game. double dragon 1 was the classic. it just sucked because of 1player only and you had to earn hearts. ridiculous. double dragon fixed all that but the game is not like the arcade at all. it just uses the name double dragon to boost its sales

there is only one game,ONE game that will give Double Dragon a run for its money. and that is Streets of Rage...becuz like double dragon,the co op fighting was addictive,awesome,there were weapons,and the soundtrack was just as good(if not better) than the double dragon soundtracks. i love both double dragon and streets of rage,but seriously...that would be one helluva close call to choose from...
