Everyday my guinea pigs do that to each other! One of mine always puts her head to the other ones rear end and chases her, I don't know why though. Mine are definitely female, are yours?
They sniff each-others backsides to tell if they are friends. A guinea pig who gets on the others back, usually digs her teeth into the other guinea pig, and puts her full weight on her, they do this to prove their power and who is the dominant one. Sometimes they bite, and squirt another guinea pig when they are angry, or trying to show who's in charge. I have 2 female guinea pigs, so I have experience.
@Cartmanvb Well you see she is not doing this to "entertain" She wants to know why they are doing this. The people who would normally be trying to watch this is if their guinea pigs are doing this or if they are answering her question.
@parentefam6 Mine never have. When I put a new girl in with one I'd had for a bit, they just poked each other's noses for a while, then came to some sort of agreement about ten minutes later and worked together to pull their food trough off the cage wall. Mine might be unusual, though.
Guinea pigs "poop" two different types of feces. The first type is hard and generally larger. The other type is smaller and softer and is meant for them to eat. It contain recycled vitamin B and other minerals they need for normal digestion. Every once in a while, they can completely discard of it to eat it, but most often, it has to be eaten from the anus.
you don't have 2 females together the black one is clearly a male if you look closely in this vid you only spot it once he has a white bit showing on his bum thats when he brings his balls down he makes a noise called the motorboat a female does not sniff a females private area for that long the black guinea pig is a male and is your ginger and white one pregnant? because her belly sticks out alot on one side i have 7 guinea pigs of my own i studied on them so i know what im on about
You, my girl, have a case of mistaken identity. What you think is a black female, is actually a black male, and more than likely, your little female (the brown and white one) is pregnant as she's got a very big belly, not a slim one. Also, notice your black one is larger than the other, meaning that most likely, this is a male. The sniffing the butt, is probably him seeing if she's in season.
@dontask996 not necessarily... females hump eachother too... ours did, and they were both females... well the one that humped was (died last friday) cause she had babies once.
@dontask996 Actually, I have two female guinea pigs, I know this because I can see their nipples for feeding babies although they don't have any, and they still try to do this. It is just dominance.
@lalujustice Male guines pigs also have 2 teats at each side the only way i found out i had 3 males is from feeling on there abdomen for a long thing inside them!!
sniffing butt, is how they "greet and meet" and know each other. Give them some lawn grass to eat. And by the way they can jump over those little fences if they really want to. See: "KARATE PIG"
if ones female and ones male the black one is trying to mate beacuse hes licking here butt and that means that he wants to mate with her but she dosent want to but if it isent then it must mean that hes mistaking for a girl
Guinea pigs assert dominance by doing this - they will fight until one can mount the other one - asserting his/her dominance over the other, thats all :)
You could put some toys or food in the cage, it's very boring for them like this. Also maybe some hay or a piece of cloth, the ground must be cold to their feet :)
Most other mammals would draw blood from each other. Two cats would literally scratch each other half to death. Goats headbutt their rivals endlessly.
This domesticated and docile animals (bred to be that originally) can't fight for shit.
@SteveSpicerPortsmuth Don't say that. Guinea pigs CAN fight. They can bite holes in eachother. They can scratch and harm eachother. They are HERBIVORES! don't expect them to be evil minded war machines. They are just rodents. But yes, they CAN fight. that was just a dominance video. If it was a real fight then they would bite and scratch and fluff up and hold their chins up scratching each other. It was just a name for the video. You'd not be much "Appreciated* if you just recorded them bleed.
my guinea pigs were fighting over night for dominance first they started like @KoFDee said than they bite each other we didn't see it but we saw blood around in cage
@JazzyPuppy67 hahaha you're brutal. you are probably overweight yourself but you are not too worried about over feeding yourself. You are 14 years old stop trolling the internet thinking you know everything.
Guinea pigs like most herbivores like to eat eat eat.. When there is a shortage of food they might eat the same food twice if you know what I mean. So my advise is to provide them with food and water at all times. Herbivores have to eat huge quantities of plants to get enough protein. A cow is a prime example.
They look remarkably like the two that I fed to my python yesterday.. I wish I could pick up those two ugly things and give them a reason to squeak. They won't fight when they're being digested inside a reptile's tummy.
They aren't fighting there just following each other. when they fight over dominance one will walk slowly and waggle there butt a little bit and start making a really deep growl. You can tell when they do this because it's like no other sound pigs make.
Plus I feel sorry for these pigs they have no access to grass and such a little area for them to play in, poor things.
@KoFDee I don't think that's a permanent home. it looks like a "get some fresh air" area because there's no food water or hay. Plus don't assume that they don't get any grass because you don't live with them nor do have you been to their house im pretty sure :/
@KoFDee Yes, that's true. My two boy guinea pigs have done that. Turns out that the one that was swaying and making a purring sound wasn't the boss. And yes, I agree on the space.
@RainDropz1000 They were fighting they were mounting each other and making a rubling noise if she knows they're male.. They are so there's no sense of them mating and I also have a video with really los rumbling and a big fight :D Mounting for males if like them trying to jump on top of one another It wasnt much of a fight tho and alot of the noises were scared noises and mad noises
@RainDropz1000 they are fighting my 2 guinea pigs bite and flip on eachother but guinea pigs dont want another guinea pig taking over it's stuff so it pushes the other out of it's way.
