Fox have made many Simpsons games. Some good, some bad. I will go on record and say that this one was one of the good ones. Though there is not much replay value.

I also think they should do another Futurama game. Not as a shooter but as a Point 'N' Click adventure.

Wish they made more simpsons games like these, i liked playing road rage because you could explore the areas and i liked hit and run because you could go into some of the locations and walk. But the last game i didn't enjoy as much, if they made a game like this with better graphics and missions still but you could go inside more buildings and walk around and controll which character you wanted in an area on free mode. I wanted to controll lisa in springfield on hit and run but you can't t.t

Actually, it's not really a game, it's more or less just a tour of springfield full of simpsons trivia. There are little mini-games & puzzles in it. The developer went out of business shortly after the game was released.

Wow, this brings me back. I spent a year of my life working as a 3D artist on this game. It was developed by Vortex Media Arts for FOX interactive. We used the old dos version of 3D Studio, modeled the entire town, the pre-rendered it for the game using a custom rendering plugin to make it look cartoon style. I had fun working on it. I got paid to watch hours of the simpsons for reference images so buildings could be constructed in 3D.

There is probably many problems why it doesn't work for vista, one may be that it was made to run on WINDOWS 95!

You have 3 options:

1. try using DosBox

2. buy a 486 computer

3. use windows 98

at the time the concept of this game was really exciting and cool, but this is way before they really had the games they have now as well as the technology. Playing 3D games in the 90s were so cool and you couldn't wait to even just try it which is why a game like virtual springfield was so awesome at those times. But when the 2D genre dropped, Virtual Reality became outdated if it didn't have the graphics behind it and thus became a fad of the past.
