Just install quick time player from the apply website !  Sony vegas will play .MOV files as well !

I had problems putting video into Sony vegas ...it only put the sound up!.....I was thinking that I should sell my Hitachi camcorder!

After seeing this video I looked into "codecs"....

CCCP didnt work for me...but I found that "prism video file converter" from NCH software worked! I had to download "APPLE quick time" first.

Then when I converted the files to "DV" it all worked well.

Thank you to all on here for your words of wisdom and help....I hope this helps some one.

Something to note, if your running a 64 bit version of Vegas you will need to install a 64 bit codec pack. Klite has one that works great.

@Kryptiiq That's probably from panasonic camera. You should download software from panasonic website, I think it's caled PHOTOfunSTUDIO. With this program you can download it from your camera and save it in format that is more popular.

@ajssproductions Mirrors are different download links with the same file on it. If for example the first site is down u can download the file from a mirror. If the first mirror doesn't work u take the second mirror etc. (sorry for my english, im dutch :D)

First I'd like to thank Sony for not including a codec for .avi files with Vegas, including up to Vegas 10. It's only one of the most common video formats. Then I'd like to thank the first 3 things I've tried: K-Lite, CCCP, and the free codecs demo for being completely and utterly fucking useless. Also like to thank the free-codecs demo for changing all my icons for hundreds of my movies to the icon for Battlefield 2 Bad Company. (easy to fix though). Maybe I'll try that divx crap.

Divx CODEC worked for me and I have been trying for ages to find one to work with my version of SVs! It worked for my cousin's sony vegas as well so I recommend that one for anyone with SV platinium.

i was able to install CCCP and divx without a problem but when it comes to mjpeg i always get an installation failure. can u give me a mjpeg codec for my OS ur mjpeg codec might not be compatible with my OS

also i have tried the four cc. didn't work shit for me. do u have any ideas about using four cc ppl. might be giving me the wrong instructions. but anyways when i open a file in it the extension that comes out is wmv3 is there i codec for that?
