  • Micron adjustment: the heads are placed 1:10,000 the width of a hair from the platter no human hands can repair a HDD you should have payed drive savers 100$ per cdrom of recovered data what a waste

  • Dirty girl lol

  • hoooooome

  • After sucessfully transplanting the heads, and getting the data off the bad drive, I would say you probably qualify as a brain surgeon!

  • You went through all that trouble to make a dust free box, then you AVOIDED TO WEAR GLOVES?

YOU DO KNOW your skin is sloughing off thousands of skin particles every second right?

To point of clean rooms is mainly to capture human skin particles, in case you didn't know.

  • Umm, replacing the heads? No... that can't be done by hand. They are insanely delicate and small and prone to damage. You'd have to take off the servo arm from the hard drive in order to access the heads on the end of the servo arms.... How did you do this!?

  • I was originally going to use a similar method with my clean box, however I thought that the air that would get pulled in from the outside wouldn't have been very helpful due to the exhaust fan setup you're using. I've decided instead to have an air ionizer that instead pushes clean air INTO the box which can then disperse OUT of any exposed holes, such as around your arms, meaning I could remove my arms at any point without worrying about dust dislodging and getting sucked straight into the box

  • I just watched a 1:25 minute video of some annoying guy with his hands in a fish tank with some glad wrap and cut rubber gloves talking crap

  • i'm going to try this out. my computer is running so slow. will this fix it?

  • When one of my notebook hard drives died, I tried the freezer method. Wrapped it in a plastic bag, connected to a case, wrapped that in plastic, let it freeze for 2 days.

It worked! I got all the data off that I wanted. It was still running fine 2 hours later.

On one of the forums, a guy said he replaced his hard drive heads on a table. The platters did not immediately turn to rust. He got all the data off. He wrote the clean room idea is pushed too much.

  • Only Chuck Norris is able to make backups with this.

  • The Hard disk was fuctional after that? regardless the loss of data and where can someone find spare parts for a Hdd?

  • @knighttemplar6

just use another hard drive. Get a cheap one and take the needed parts out of it and then put them in the dead one.

  • yes he is an idiot. cleanroom wanabe.

  • GIve me an upside down aquarium the parts and straight forward instruction and let me at it.

  • This is extremely interesting. I love how people treat hard-drives like humans now ;) Lmao.

  • Is this the face of terrorism?

  • you lucky dog u got an Asian girlfriend i had a Filipino girlfriend once they r very good at anal sex and sucking cock , mine used to suck my cock dry when i cum she would suck the last drip of cum from my cocks head, i bet your girlfriend sucks your cock a lot that is why u so happy

  • @80sbreaker Go post that shit on youporn or xhamster.

  • ant-dust-box funny...how it seems dust is made up from dead skin cells

  • nice work!!!

  • . What happened? I take it you dont back up files? Or you buy old HD's looking to rip off information to run ID theft? Is that how you afford your lifestyle? I herd about people like you. Yeah people you can buy old HDs and rip info. You can even sell the info online. Like credit card numbers and stuff. This guy is acting like he is doing nothing wrong but what he is doing is bizzar to a technician.

  • did you use a plat exchanger? or did you just change the IO interface

  • my hard drive is an external HD, maxtor 1.5 Tb it fall down side from the stand position after that it makes sound like keek..keek for every two seconds, my computer is not recognize as external HD. i would like to know is it possible to repair the HD

  • @jikjill sounds like you may have damaged the head! if it fell while the drive was running and turned on then you would of damaged the platter on the hard drive! when the hdd cant read information it copies bad sectors to a P-list to avoid reading for future use! so its trying to scan at a very high rate and cant read the drive at all! The platter is probably scratched and would be just worth throwing it out and getting a new 1

  • i have a 1.5 hardrive that i bought recently but it felled the same day, now i wanna recover everything but also i want my hardrive back:( i think im just gonna return it and thats it, but i like the idea of the box, but im gonna try see if its the card or the inside:( thnks for the vid.

  • How does the anti dust box work?!

  • it seems even your wife is having fun watching this...cool =D

  • "I am..." DIRTY GIRL?

  • thats so awsome thats exactly what i need lol

  • It just goes to show.. never trust your data on just one hard drive! I've made that mistake before also and lost data that I was never able to recover.

  • cool vid but.. no.. gloves..?

  • i bet you thisw fella has no friends and defo no girlfriend. get a life

  • Its his mum.

  • whats the point of this .......his skin is not coverd and we all know where most dust comes from right.....our skin

  • Eh, you're an idiot. People are so stupid with cleanroom BS when it comes to recovering HD data. You're looking to ge the stuff off the drive and onto a stable media, not manufacture 10,000 super reliable storage devices. YOURE GOING TO THROW IT AWAY WHEN YOURE DONE!

  • @YourMom863 If dust gets on the disk, just gently spray compressed C02 on it & your good!

  • @YourMom863 yeah exactly thankfuly for me a drive i can coppy everything too but its simply a mater of getting it done i cant aford to pay an arm and leg to do it

  • Please don't make any more videos.

  • totally agree wit you

  • yeah , never heard about fish tanks specially made for such a thing,,but whaddiaknow.. thats almost air-tight ! and your gloves must be nanoinch thick, or are you ruining the HD's?? oh, you Are ruining the HD's,, damn,This ain't high-tech,, this is the highest-tech.

  • I wonder if any flakes of skin from your hands got on the plates.

  • HDD have a breathing hole and that hole has no "filter" so a machine filled with dust most likely will have those dust particles inside. HDD is not so much prone to dust but more to static (damaged PCB of more specifically weak signal amplifier), and during removal/replace of heads the problem is scratching, tightening screws (correct torque) especially on the head. Skin flakes is your least worry, but on a professional environment you should be careful for better probability of recovery.

  • it does have a filter moron

  • Apparently you never opened an HDD. So, use the little english words that you barely know carefully.

  • whoa what a freakin loser, apparently u never had sex so shove ur words up ur ass.

    get a life.

  • @scanboltron without gloves he just defeated the whole purpose, hand dandriff killed the one out of the two drives he tried to save.

  • How the hell did you guys like this!?!?! Fuck this guy! Hes immuture, and did say anything about hard drives...Fuck this shit!

  • why the hell did you make a such stupid box?

  • Why waste our time like this? Please don't make any more videos.

  • Looks like a fish tank.

  • You rock!!!

  • Not Bad, not bad,

Not quite ready for Prime Time....

But You've definitely got me thinking..... Thanks Guys and Gal

  • Frankly the glass box is a smart idea, but it has its limitation, i.e. limited space, limited hands movement, limited angles of view.

I'm thinking to design a clean box/space where at least I can put my head and hands inside.

  • @harbime if you put your head in are you going to wear a condom ?

  • I would still not use that hard drive if I were you. By the way, you should have wore gloves.

  • The object of the game is to transfer data immediatly after replacing the heads. That's why I hooked it up using USB. Both hard drives are pretty useless after this, I know :). I washed and scrubbed my hands beforehand but I know... I done this twice with this setup but only saved data from one... :'(

  • @mhuizing I believe @rhonamitratara suggested to use gloves to prevent static electricity to damage the HDD, not for dust/dirt...

  • @mhuizing friend, ignore the insults! I need guidance. I have a seagate hd and I will try myself to effect the change of heads, which hint to use to safely remove and replace? And excuse the bad English, I do not speak the language very well. I look forward to. and thanks

  • @mhuizing As you said yourself, so I retrieve the data, both the new and the old hd will be garbage, but I Intereco by the data. I appreciate any help that.

  • Ohhhh great! It's wonderful and I could like make this box in Plexiglas. Do you have some advices for make it? Have you a technical web page where you describe how you made it and how replacing hd heads? It's could be very useful for who want repair hd alone!

    Thank you!! bye!

  • I tried using plexiglass but in the end it wasnt transparent enough. I would suggest using glass. In fact a glass-fitter can make a customized box and drill holes too. You need two holes; one for the air to be exerted (bottom) and one for clean air coming in (filtered) at the top. Make sure there is an access point for cables. I suggest using the inner works of an external USB storage system so you can hook it up to a PC while the case is open to extract data.

  • @mhuizing well there are several kinds of plexiglass

    some more clear than other

depends for which reason you need it
