what a song congratulations to all involved in this performance ,emotional but a fitting tribute to probaly one of Ireland's greatest patrioits. thanks .
Tommy's daughter told me at a Schooner Fare / Tommy Makem Christmas season concert around 2003, that Tommy listed his wife as lyricist / composer due to a difference of opinion with his publisher at the time of publication.
I hope young musicians who like Irish music understand the debt they owe to Tommy Makem. There will never be another man like him. We were lucky to have one.
I will never cease to miss him. We'll not see his likes again.
