I'd recommend people check out the pro-human rights organisation Jewish Voice For Peace, which works to defend human rights of both Palestinians and Isreali citizens. I'd recommend people check out the pro-human rights organisation Jewish Voice For Peace, which works to defend human rights of both Palestinians and Isreali citizens. There is media which is far right and there is media which is far left and their respective popularities swing like a pendulum throughout the course of history. Both are equally biased and dangerous. I personally wish that everyone would analyse every event objectively and under it’s own terms but this rarely seems to happen. Most people seem to need to be on one team or the other.

You seem to think that this is some sort of crazy idea but it’s always been perfectly obvious to me. I often hear and read about how great Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez are when I am in Ireland. Seems people these days just pick and choose which dictators are cool and which aren’t!

Obviously there is a relationship between an individual’s political orientation and how they feel about the Flotilla incident. I am not saying that this is true in every case but it is true in enough cases for me to have mentioned it at the beginning.

You see, I am not pro Israel. I think they fuck up majorly again and again and I think they need to get out of the West Bank, but just because I'm not pro-Israel that doesn’t mean I’m necessarily going to allow myself to be spoon-fed the Palestinian version of events every time either. In the case of the Flotilla it is clear to me that the Turks onboard were responsible. It’s still a tragedy, but if they had dealt with the situation more sensibly no one would have died.

In fairness, I’ve backed up my opinion a lot better than you have yours. You have supported your opinion with no facts whatsoever. My opinion is supported by actual footage from the boarding, the admission of some passengers that conflict was always on the cards and the fact that several of the dead Turks had publicly revealed that they wished for martyrdom. Even the BBC agrees with me. They made a documentary about it.

Hopefully anybody who watches this will be made fully aware of the dangers of having Tom Cooney in a public debate. His outrage at the (perfectly valid) criticism of the Israeli attack of the humanitarian aid flotilla shows ignorance and an inability to listen to the viewpoint of others. I don't even fully agree with either viewpoint but I'm still willing to listen to both sides instead of just researching one side without entertaining the facts about the other.

Funny. Seriously though; it has pretty much been proven that the navy guys were attacked with improvised weapons and t's always a bad idea to attacked armed soldiers. If the Turks hadn't attacked then no one would have died. Fact. There was only passive resistance on the other boats and no one was hurt. Even the BBC (a traditionally leftist and painfully politically correct entity) came to the conclusion that the soldiers acted in "self defense".

How could they plan to kill IDF soldiers - their sole motivation, according to Israel - with bits & pieces found on a ship? No, just like your comment, Israel's story doesnt hold up to scrutiny. The fact is the IDF murdered 9 peace activists in international waters. Whether it was premeditated or bungled, I don't know, but that's the only fact.
