  • Every time I watch Mushishi, I feel like I'm seeing it for the first time. That's what makes it special.

  • I show this clip to people whenever I talk about this series. And my sis who hates anime is willing to watch one episode of this with me. But how do I choose only one?!

  • @duddledeedo Perhaps Tanyuu's episode?

  • @duddledeedo show her ep 21 lol

  • @nactan I showed ep 21 to my 7 yr old sis and she totally flipped. She's afraid of the series and even cries if I say that there are mushi in her bed. Well, I do it to her only when she gets super annoying. Still fun to scare her. (I'm so bad...)

  • @duddledeedo have you tried explaining to her that the whole point of the episode is that mushi are not evil? it's a tragic tale of two species trying to protect their children (spores in the case of mushi) portrayed with exquisite sensitivity. it even comes out and says so in some of the most touchingly honest lines of dialog i've heard in anime: "it's not our fault" "it's not ours either" "soo ka, then we have no choice..."

  • @nactan I think she's still too young to see it like that. But it doesn't matter anymore, she doesn't want to hear any of it now. Maybe when she's older she'll learn to appreciate it.

  • @duddledeedo yeah, she probably is. i feel kind of responsible. i admit i intended to spook her a bit, but i didn't know she was 7.

  • @nactan oh no, I started to work up through the series from the beginning and got to ep 21. Your post came a little late :p

  • @duddledeedo thank god. heh, then i'm not sorry if you're not. :P

  • @duddledeedo I convinced a anime hater with Monster by Naoki Urasawa. :)

  • @derBene Oh, after you mentioned it, I went to check out the series myself. I'm totally marathonning it now ^^

  • @duddledeedo Good to see that you like Monster. What I didn't like, is that you scared your sister with Mushi-shi. How is that going to help anyone?

  • @derBene Well actually my first intention was never to scare her with this show. I genuinely thought she would love it and tried to make her see the fairy tale side of it all, all while reassuring her that the mushi were NOT an evil force but a neutral element of nature.Things just went awry after a few eps that took a turn for the creepy... *sigh* try as I might, she never wanted to finish the series even though I reassured her it was all abt nature taking its course. Now she sticks with Bleach.

  • @duddledeedo Yeah, Mushi-shi is a good series in it's own way but I have to say it leaves with a lot of questions. That's even hard for an adult. Take care.

  • @duddledeedo I'd go with Sui's episode (2nd I think, the one about the second eyelids)

  • @thedeadserv the thing is, she already knew about that ep, and I wanted to show her something new, so I went with the first ep -- which I think is a great introduction by itself..

  • @duddledeedo heh, fact is, any of the first few, does just fine :D cause it's still on the "introducing the concept" stage hehehe.

  • To describe this AMV... now where's the phrase I'm searching for... ah, there it is! 1:40

  • It's hard to grasp the entire beauty of both that song and Mushi-shi, but you seem to have done a remarkable job of doing both. Well done.

  • Very nice editing !! WOW

  • illusion ...

  • Fantastic!!!!!!!!!

  • Very nice. Ginko indeed had a beautiful mind.

  • This is what AMV should look like. Well done.

  • sugoi

    *w*

  • Absolutely amazing video!

The music goes so well with the feeling in Mushi shi

  • wow, this is really really really well done, great music too. I have to wonder how many hours this took to make :P

  • This is seriously that kind of AMV with which you could go to a friend and say "so you're wondering if you should watch Mushishi? I think you'll agree that you won't need to wonder any longer"

  • Really really amaizing

  • You might have posted this two years ago-- but I just had to comment. THANK you for this. Truly lovely pairing of music and scenes from the greatest anime I have ever seen.

  • Gorgeous to look at...the music is heavenly and the scenes you used danced ballet with it. I was moved. Can't explain it. Beautiful job!

  • Out of all the AMV's I've seen of mushishi this is one of the best! Nicely done! I really like it.

  • This IS one of the most beautiful animes out there. And this music is beautiful; it fits the anime so well. Wonderful job with the AMV <33

  • wonderful

  • 2:34

This is my favorite moment in the whole anime, and to see it here with this beautiful music...

    You win 42.

  • This is simply amazing.

    I love it..

  • you are correct, mushi shi has some of the most beautiful artwork in anime so far and probably will ever have. along with some creepy. The landscapes that it portrays, at least 1 each episode and a new ordeal with each scene, it is a shame they ended the series, i am hoping for a season 2 or a continuation in the manga. and btw, i love the amv :D great work.

  • The director did say they are wanting to create another season if possible, so there's certainly hoping ^_^.

  • @yincira I think our best hope is that they see us paying for it, buying it. That gives them the incentive and the finances to produce a new season.

  • This is one of the most beautiful things I've EVER seen... I applaud and worship you simultaneously!!! So pretty...

  • wow, that was, well wow, i'm practically speechless, that was so beautiful, i definitely need to watch that anime now

  • perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow.

  • nicely done!! so cool!!

  • around 2:50 i started tearing up...

  • Superb amv of an excellent anime, this deserves millions of views.

  • Amaizing in every way. You made it perfectly without using special effects.

I can't stop replaying it! xD

  • :O most epically amazing amv ever! wow! top amv in my mind :D that just made my day :3

  • wow you did a great job. it´s very beautiful <3 i love mushishi

  • Beautifully cut, and the movement in the scenes always matched the pace of the music. : )

  • simply put: beautiful. masterfully done.

  • One of my favourite animes with one of my favourite songs :D Good job.

  • added to my "Only Awesome AMVs" playlist :)

  • This is a simply stunning AMV. You wouldn't happen to have a download link that you would like to share with me so I can watch if forever and ever, would you?

  • Sorry, not at the moment.

  • Ohhh,i'm so proud of you right now, this is one of my favourites anime, its so relaxing and has an wonderful concept.Thank u alot(and the music fits perfectly :D )

  • And now I take a deep breath and everything feels right in the world. Thanks, bro. ;w;b

  • It reminds me of the reason I love anime. :3 Excellent job.

  • A very great AMV! Horner's music is fantastic and fits quite well with the Mushi-Shi scenes you've chosen! :) But as a German I always must laugh when I here the Anime is called Mushi-Shi. xD Germans will understand me. ;)

  • Te editing on your video is fantastic! The build up at the beginning with the fades to black add a great sense of anticipation. 1:07, is well done. So is 1:17-1:18... 1:21 is where the fun really begins. 1:29-1:36 are really well set too and begin the climatic aspect of the song with the crescendo there all the way to 1:55. Personal favourite? But 2:05 - 2:11. Oh, the scaling piano sets the mushi coming out of her eyes majestically. When in fact in the anime is kind of freaky. Well done!

  • Brilliant. One of the best AMVs I've ever seen.

  • This, is beautiful.

  • Never seen the anime, but it's super cool the way you reversed the song to fit the video.

  • Eh, wha? I didn't reverse the song, I just switched the second part with the first part and then arranged the footage to fit that.

  • Yes yes that's what I meant to say. XD

  • oooooh i love that amv!!! you've picked the best pics and matched them very well!! the music fits too :) why has it got so few views? i think it's the best amv since ages!

and i love mushishi! how did you come up with the idea to mix it with a beautiful mind? ^^

  • Not sure, I'd recently heard the music again and was looking for something to match with Mushishi anyway, and it just fit right away, as the sound reminded me of the Mushi and their movements.

  • its a shame the reality its worst.. money upon life.

i think someday something is ging to happen with the planet.. kind what happen on ff7 the planet is getting sick. of us, and right now u can see it on news huracanes. ..i hope someday the humanity gets more concius before its too late

  • i am in love with this anime.there may be none, but do you know any other animes that are similiar to this one??

  • You could try Kino No Tabi or Haibane Renmei? They have similar calm and somewhat out of reality atmospheres.

  • may I suggest Mononoke?

it's a pretty unknown show and it's hard to search for it, but it's really one of the best anime series ever ; )

and it has the same concept as mushishi. don't be frightened by the optics, it really is the same...

(btw, it's a spinoff of the series ayakashi)

  • Perfect!

  • Mushishi remind me of "orgone" concept, "bion", "somatide", "microzimas" ...

  • are those shows??

  • No, they're biological/energetic understandings.

  • Pretty AMV. Well done ;)

  • Thanks ^_^

  • quiet a beautiful video, very well synchronized. precious images with a good choice on music.

  • Thank you :)

  • I actually haven't seen the series, from the images it looks very interesting, do you mind telling me a little bit about it?

  • I can try. Mushi-shi's hard to give a specific genre, but it ties down on psychological drama. Mushi are a type of primordial life that occasionally interacts with the regular world and a Mushi-shi is a human who has the ability to see these and travels around helping people who come in contact with them, in this case it follows Ginko (the white haired man). Each episode's a standalone story of the people he encounters doing his job, highlighting various aspects of the way humans are.

  • Well is no little thing, now I definitely have to see it, no wonder the images are so precious. It seems like the job of a shaman. If you can tell me more about it I'll be grateful. Thank you for your reply and for the beautiful video.

  • It's something like a shaman indeed, but the Mushi aren't exactly like spirits. They rarely have sapience and some lack sentience altogether. They are closest to the "water of life" and are a side of nature that humans generally aren't aware of, but is vital to their existence nonetheless. Neither good nor evil, just nature; life and its value is a recurring theme, among many other things. There are some traits that can be described as magic, but never entirely.

  • I like it, it's soothing in an eerie way :)

I liked the parts near the ending the best

  • Eerie soothing....then I managed to capture the mood of the series ^_^

  • Ayup :3

Didn't they have this anime on Gaia? I recall seeing it somewhere

  • Yup, they had the first two episodes in their cinéma.

  • Ah, I thought so :3
