I grew up an S&B fan and have watched this show from the mid 80's and on. I can't say a bad thing about L&L. Obviously the viewers bought into what GH created. It's kinda like a husband when his wife isnt feeling up to it and says no and he doesnt take no for an answer and he penetrates her anyway. The wife might still love him and forgive him and they stay married (he doesnt do it again). Laura didnt fall in love with Luke because she was raped, she was drawn to him for other reasons (maybe not all good).

It wasnt that Luke was good looking it was the chemistry between Genie and Tony that was the appeal/ Also in real life in Genie and Kin shriner were an item and around the time Luke and Laura started and Scotty and laura broke up. Kin and Genie split up too. It was a difficult time for Genie too because they lived together and she was so young too.

4kane, you had to be there to experience Tony and Genie for the first time and see the incrediable chemistry, he was not the greatest looking guy but the charisma he had was through the roof.

I totally agree. It was the way he looked at her. I mean talk about loving someone so much that you're almost bursting, that's how it always seemed to be when those earlier episodes of the 2 aired. He loved her beyond everything and anyone else.

I'm happy these vintage GH moments are on youtube. Now we can relive the moment over and over again.

Yeah I so agree AniLuta, the way he looked at her took my breath away, ha ha, that is what I try to defend on my soap forum when they talk about Luke and Tracy, he will never ever look at someone else the way he looked at Laura and still does, the chemistry is unbelievable, that is why I am believing this stuff they are trying to pull with him and Tracy, I will take him and Laura years ago over him and someone else today anytime, they were my youth.

I can remember as a little girl watching soaps w/ my aunts not being able to comprehend anything, but I can tell what love is and it was plain on his face whenever he saw or was with her. Scotty really didn't deserve her, but look needed her.

They rank as #1 as my all-time favorite couple and right underneath them is Bo & Hope of DOL.
