  • A little less speed and a little more care would do the trick.

  • @metteholm75 A little less speed??? Why ? Who said this rule. It s a good tempo. Richter, Gould, Ashkenazy Mac Gregor plays it same tempo or faster except Rosalyn Tureck (slow) and Tatiana Nikolayeva (Slow medium).

  • don't advertise your ignorance, its a performance of little character, only professionals will 'get away' with NO DYNAMIC RANGE ON A BAROQUE PIECE... but amateur quality, myself included, you are expected to add a convincing fugal structure hence 'shades of air', where are the peaks of the phrase, where is the episodal sections which need to be Pianissimo, otherwise in an examiner's perspective your performance shows a lack of understanding... i can asure you i know what i am talking about...

  • dont play monotonously add some character... little shades of air, you would not get over 85 with this performance

  • @SnyderMarkWilliam: Shades of air? On a baroque piece? Why don't you come back when you know what you're talking about

  • great job, as for phrasing, its was perfect, Bach never put any phrasing in his music and the dynamics are terrace. What you do with Bach is you put your soul into it, and it will come out great..

  • Nicely done, ignore the people saying the phrasing was wrong; it's a technical excercise, so as long as the notes and timing are good, Bach would be proud. Also, better to play it flat and well than with too much vigour and mess it up! xD

  • excellent ;) i played that fuga too.

  • -The first 4 notes should be legato, next, 2 notes stacato, ... I think subject in Bach's Fugue always have something interesting, we have to find down the characteristic of each subject (ex : dancing or singing).

  • not really... although the most common way to play is like you said, this can vary.

  • he made some mistakes, but thats not one of them.

  • You never accent the themes, that's a pity.

In addition I'd play the first 3 notes of the main theme play legato (f g f) and the following two notes staccato (Bb d).

But nevertheless it was very good, as far as I heard there were no mistakes!

  • he's just pressing buttons... no interpretation or art involved in this version.

  • couldn't really hear your themes...!

  • oooooo, you're phrasing is all wrong!! but it's soo good, i give you props for memorizing it, i did the prelude, and now i'm doing the fugue and i can't for the life of me memorize it, although i haven't really tried.

  • very nice job this Fugue is not easy play well

  • Well played thx~

  • nice job!

  • actually, the first 4 notes should be articulated together, then the other two separately , but nice job!

  • actually... its really open to interpretation.

bach didn't write any articulation directions as he was a teacher, and his music was for his students, not for performance. so he would be right there with them when they were playing it.

any book that says something like that is clearly edited

  • ooo very nice counterpointing, the theme stayed true the whole way, great job! ^_^

  • Great! I liked it very much
