The Grateful Dead also had situations beyond their control affect their reputation and forced them to handle these situations in less than favorable ways. Phish trying to deal with mud from a week's worth of pouring rain is on equal scale as those good vibed people @ Deer Creek tearing the gates down. I highly doubt either band wanted to cancel the shows, but they did what they was best.

@musicenthusiast86 that isn't what happened, the concert was to happen in a massive open field, with enough space for as many people as possible. rain for a week had caused the fields to flood and got so muddy the stage couldnt be set up right, it kept sinking into the mud, and supposedly the entire camping and concert areas were unmanageably muddy so they cancelled it. But then still played (albeit crappily) for those who made to walk from miles away, leaving their cars on the highway
@nadamean3 yah......why don't people lay off. we get excited about Phish. that's why they sell enough tickets to put 80K in a field for three days. Not many bands can say they can do that. I'd be as pissed as her and would do the exact same thing, especially if I paid hard earned money.

Although I agree people like this wretched excuse for a human are irritating, annoying, and all around wastes of space, I've found worrying about them only ruins my experience at shows. As long as you're with your friends and are there for the right reason (i.e the music), you will have a great time everytime :-) So, for everyone here who posted that stated they will never go back because of people like this, I say go back because otherwise the slap-dicks have won.

When they told everyone to turn around all the friends we were travelling with got together decided that the best plan was to drive north of the venue, talk to the locales and find a back road in. No one lost their cool, it was just another mission and we got in no problem. People like this are a disgrace to the scene.

I went to Coventry. Austin to Montreal to Newport. We slept in a SUV for 18 hours. Got the news, turned around, drove to Newport, and got in fine. Smiles. Walked 4+ miles from parking to camping, then again. I was way to exhausted to be that vitrolic and hateful. Ran into great people on a big tarp about 100 yards out. She seems like a hater that thinks she can buy a knit hat, smoke pot, sell shots of Jager and suddenly be "a phan" giving away "hugs and love" Bwa ha ha.
Yeah I was pissed too, but hey ..it happens. I made the most of it, had an incredible time meeting people, especially this gorgeous girl from Europeon. The rain sucked but around 2 in the morning a chill cat came around w/ some of the most beautiful ganja I have seen.
Look at the super-ominous clouds swirling around as this angry young "hippie" loses her mind. This tour was terrible and I am so glad I didn't go to Coventry. The scene had degenerated so much until it was all about the Molly, the nitrous and the heavy dope. Summer Tour 09 has been so much cleaner, kinder and the music is the best it's been. Peace.

I just turned around and said I didn't know that I was just there to be cool. When they broke up there plague following started on Panic tour. 120 shows and I have to dress a certain way?

Although I agree people like this wretched excuse for a human are irritating, annoying, and all around wastes of space, I've found worrying about them only ruins my experience at shows. As long as you're with your friends and are there for the right reason (i.e the music), you will have a great time everytime :-) So, for everyone here who posted that stated they will never go back because of people like this, I say go back because otherwise the slap-dicks have won.

When they told everyone to turn around all the friends we were travelling with got together decided that the best plan was to drive north of the venue, talk to the locales and find a back road in. No one lost their cool, it was just another mission and we got in no problem. People like this are a disgrace to the scene.

I went to Coventry. Austin to Montreal to Newport. We slept in a SUV for 18 hours. Got the news, turned around, drove to Newport, and got in fine. Smiles. Walked 4+ miles from parking to camping, then again. I was way to exhausted to be that vitrolic and hateful. Ran into great people on a big tarp about 100 yards out. She seems like a hater that thinks she can buy a knit hat, smoke pot, sell shots of Jager and suddenly be "a phan" giving away "hugs and love" Bwa ha ha.

Look at the super-ominous clouds swirling around as this angry young "hippie" loses her mind. This tour was terrible and I am so glad I didn't go to Coventry. The scene had degenerated so much until it was all about the Molly, the nitrous and the heavy dope. Summer Tour 09 has been so much cleaner, kinder and the music is the best it's been. Peace.
