Impressive but it looks like an SU-27 or mig-35 is more agile or maybe the Russians are better at aerobatics

Uh no, nothing like the SU or the Mig-35. They do have thurst vectoring but lets see how good they move without it.

Needs two things: higher thrust to weight ratio (1.25 : 1 would be nice) as well as thrust vectoring.

Saw it in Paris air show 2009 and loved it.

i love the sound of the F/A-18.
I think its a worthy replacement for the F-14, though the lack of the AIM-54.
