  • So?

I have a pattern much like the pelton, but fully sealed and rotory like,

I could send you schematics if you can read line drawings?

"most peaple I talk to can't" The new school CAD guy's that is?

    What do you say?

If yes? Private message me and we will exchange emails.

  • What 3D tool did you use to create/render these? Can the models be exported to work with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tools like FLOEFD and FLOW-3D? Do you know / can you use / have you used either of these CFD tools?

  • TO buy?U think u can sell that?

  • @1966zaim

Sorry? What do you think about it?

  • @1966zaim likely selling his ABILITY TO CREATE models more than selling this exact model... i don't know if the engineering is 100%, but the models and animation are well done, good job!

  • if u know what u are looking at, is it a nice vid :)

  • Look at this; production and development of water turbines:

    TURBOINSTITUT (EUROPE-Slovenia-Ljubljana)

  • good

  • this rocks!

  • TY....nice one dude.....

  • ECXELENTE VIDDEO

  • como se llama la canción ?? la necesito!!!

  • ''Prelude 2'' del compositor Dustin O'Halloran

  • my uncle had an accident where he fell down a set of stairs and sustained a head injury, now he has brain damage and now he cant stop calling people pelton! that is my story of why my uncle says pelton, or fuck you pelton/

  • what an idiot!

  • mate i have an assignmnet and need to draw a francis turbine blade, casing etc how did u do it? wat program ?? any help would be much appreiciated thks

  • Beautifully rendered! And helpful--we're considering micro hydro (at least, I keep begging my husband...)

  • That was deep. Music sounds like it is from a tragedy movie or something.

  • How to download this video?

  • sexy. what where these models built in?

  • Some constuctive comments from someone whos spent time inside these things:

Pelton buckets are wrong, sides shouldn't be parallel.

Francis has way too many blades on the runner and not enough guidevanes - typically 19 and 22. is also too wide and short.

Kaplans are rarely built with other than 4 or 5 blades.

    Otherwise cool.

    nice music.

  • Sorry... I was only 17 when I did it...

I made it for school project...the matter of this project was not the video,it was their funtions... So, the video was only suport of explenation...

    Are ther more problems?

    bye.

  • Haha, no thats about all i can see for now. Pretty good for 17yrs old.

Look at manufacturers websites such as koessler, gilkes, geppert, vatech andritz or voith-siemens for lots of good photos/brochures of this sort of plant. Keep up the good work.

  • Thank you! It helped a lot while studying about it :)

  • Thanks ;)

  • Awesome

  • this is pure beauty thanks! It helps me relax

  • Great animation, music is a bit chilling but sounds good too... still dont dont know how the francis turbine works though

  • Who play this song???

  • Dustin O'Halloran !!!

  • very niccccce

did you do it by SOLID WORK programe

  • wow!..great animation man!... where can I get an animation for a MICHAEL BANKI type turbine??.. these type of turbines are not frequently used and its hard to get some info.

  • Thansk! But I don't know anyting about this type of turbine..srry!

  • Thanks for uploading man! Very visual assembly!!

  • what is the song?

  • Thanx for uploading this!

  • There is one enormous mistake made on the Francis turbine in this animation. The spiral case here has a constant diameter, instead of changeable diameter on real turbines. The constant diameter of the spiral case will decrease the efficiency of the turbine, produce a lot of noise and cavitation.

  • Sorry, but the turbines are not the important thing in this video, the 3d animation is the important thing! Well, thank's!

  • It's really difficult to make a not constant diameter in francis turbine...

  • Yes it is. It's even more difficult to calculate the right shape of the runner and the spiral case due to get the maximum efficiency. However, using the CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) technique nowadays, the designing of a good turbines is getting much much easier than in the past.

  • @igoriliev16

There is one even bigger mistake. The spiral case and the guide vanes are the wrong way. The water should be introduced on the opposite side. The way it is now, the whole runner is rotating the wrong way.

  • Good stuff man. Was searching for something like this cuz i have a mechanical engineering exam today. Would have brilliant if you had somehow shown the parts moving which wouldn't have been too much extra work, would it? Anyway, try to post a moving version; i mean, with the runners moving and stuff...

    Again, good job.

  • Could something like this power a car without needing gasoline?

  • LOL!!!

If you have a high pressure high volume water source available in your car....

  • Sorry, i meant to specify mass transportation vehicles, say the length of a bus but the width of a tank? i dunno, i was just curious. Not compact ones for personal use.

    Is it impossible?

  • It wouldn't be practical at all, as you would have to carry your high pressure high volume water source around with you (Heavy..), or have some crazy hose system setup.

So yes, a water powered turbine directly powering a moving vehicle is impossible.

You can have an indirectly water turbine powered car. (ie: electric car charged with hydroelectric power).

If you want a turbine powered vehicle get a gas turbine, although you might find it a little impractical.

  • I was just speculating, I'm by no means an engineer, just a curious person. It all seems pretty interesting. Thanks for the response.

Yeah, in my mind what i was thinking would have been as wide as a 4 lane road, dunno how long. SIlly youtube vids making me think of such random things.

Impractical doesn't mean impossible! gimme that at least

  • muy bueno ta chevere

  • Fantastico video.

Ojala me lo hubieran explicado asi en clase.

  • Es una buena representacion grafica.

  • I am a Hydro Electric Station Operator. I am looking for an animation of a rotating Francis Turbine. In your project, do you have just the "water wheel", rotating that I could get as a single animation? If you do, I will figure out some way of contacting you.

    Thanks.

  • hi!! I ' m studyng engineering and i fall in love with your animation! and the music??? how is the name of song??? fantastic!!!but... so...are you an engine?

  • no.. i'm not a engine... it's a project for my school...

The name of the music is dustin o'halloran, prelude prelude 2

  • and another information...whic program did you use for the animation?? How can I get it?? is free?? thank!!

  • muy bonito!

  • esta molt be. la francis es la turbina que mes apareix a les industries textils de catalunya, veritat???

dubto que aqui tinguem un riu bastant regular i amb bastant desnivell per a tindre una pelton.

    dew

  • es el meu treball de recerca!!!

he fet tota una central 3d.

  • uauauaua!

Que ben parit! I quina música més guei!

    Enhorabona nano!!!
