A very generous interview, wonder if an interviewer in LA could get this much candor out of the original Sax Maniac. I want that Terminal City CD! btw, had the honor of being alto player in his horn section for a US mini-tour in 2003.
A really nice guy. Musically, after spending the last few days listening to Michael Jackson, I do find the band a bit awkward. Wonder if people realise he probably influenced Nick Cave and the Birthday Party, both musically and in appearance?
I saw him about 5 times in the late 70s or early 80's, mostly in DC. Incredible and very energetic shows, albeit that it takes a special ear. Persaonally, I love it. I have everything he put out on vynyl.
i think he meant to say AFTER '75,not before

I've never seen James with another woman since Anya died. She was a legendary figure in the glam/punk/no wave. Someone should write a book about her.

Of course he is a genius. Not really a man of words, but why should he be?

Yeah yeah. You were late 70s test tube babies. Take your pinky out of your ass.

This guy is amazing! Film noir and James Brown influences combined into one record? I've got to get myself some of that...

Contort yourself one time....Genius!

I agree with you, CliffRichardsMustDie. He knocked me out and was under appreciated. Contortions made Talking Heads sound like bubblegum music.
