Shit can loads of front line worker jobs, call it "organizational change", then implement "Appreciative Inquiry" programs to keep the remainder your overworked and exploited work force from complaining.
I'm sorry to hear, socksumi, that you had a negative experience. I've seen Appreciative Inquiry actually transform leaders, management styles, and even the direction of an organization. Generally the feedback of people I've known who have gone through an Appreciative Inquiry event is overwhelmingly positive.
How do justice and equity figure into 'Appreciative Inquiry'? This applied psychology is about management attempting to impose their self serving whims without dissent---lest front liners we be accused of negativity. A.I was used to increase power and control for the corporate elite. This exact scenario unfolded in my work place to justify the destruction of careers and livelihoods of our loyal font line staff.
What if management are a "systems" weakness? Are they EVER considered irrelevant?. Nope--they get to continue to dictate, and force their change and dirty deeds on everyone else under their employ who will pay for their mistakes. The powerful never do. The worse that happens to the CEOs is they walk away with golden handshakes and huge severances while the system crumples. The US auto industry is perfect example.
Sounds like something the "Borg" would say. "Strengths" translates to... obedience to whims of management. They will benefit from your strengths. CEO's will line their pockets with the product of your "strengths" (as they have always done) while you subsist on your meager wages. But don't forget, you are serving the 'Matrix', errr.. I mean the system.
I've been through this cultist BS and I've seen the results. It's now quite transparent to me what this is.
