I deeply agree with your music analysis of this piece. I had never looked at it that way since I was at University back in the 1970's. The unresolved 7th's intensify the Emotional Loss of the Protagonist - Climaxing w/the High G, then closing the finale w/the final 3 block chords..

Any one who can take the high G at the cllimax of this lied earns 5*****! Bravo.
A better audio engineer would have been in order for you as well. You have a clear bariton voice keep it up!!!!
