No one in the 80's could afford anything like that, infact i don't think you could get such big telly's unless you was a school teacher and borrowed a over head projector. Home cine film was mint and everyone enjoyed watching movies and watching the reels turn.

Hey dude.. I lived and gew up during high school in the 80's.. from 83-87

And let me tell you. I miss some of those days too.

No rap, very little, gangs were hardly ever heard of, when you fight, it was with fists.

Heavy metal ruled the world.

If you want to see more about the 80's check out some of the classic movies...

breakfast club , Fast times at ridgemont high , 16 candles , top gun , etc...

Unfortunately, nostalgia for the '90s is on the rise in 2010. :( Sonic 4, Donkey Kong Country 4, Toy Story 3, a Rolling Stone Book about the '90s, certain fashions this coming season, another Mariah Carey Christmas album, and Backstreet Boys touring again with NKOTB, really an '80s-'90s transition group. Seriously, someone needs to open up an '80s-themed RESTAURANT and a website mentioning '80s shows rerunning on TV . And the CDs already look antiqudated now that a '90s video would work now.

@mdufilho Those wood TVs were much more aesthetically pleasing than today's television. They looked like furniture and could be a nice focal point in the living room. Now we have these crappy black plastic ones that just look like stereo components. And even if they are flat-screen (with wires hanging all out and everything) they are still a decorating nightmare. I would rather have the prettier wood-encased television.
