im greek and i do my duty in a lst warship in early 90s like that!we have five similar ships(kriti,rodos,kos,samos,lesbos-syros) .i am very surprised with this video.thanks for posting
My father was one of the troops that was rescued by LST 325 in the English Channel on Dec. 28, 1944 after the troop ship HMS Empire Javelin was torpedoed by a German U-boat. He took the only known photos of the Empire javelin as it sank, and also some shots of LST 325.
Hi!! My Dad is actually working on the ship as we speak!!! He worked on it 2 years ago but it was mostly PR. This time he is working. He was an navy engineman during vietnem ( 1964-68). I love hearing his stories over and over, from the past and now from the present. How exciting!! I cant wait to show him your video when he gets home. Thank you for the video!!
As a crew member of LST 325, I want to thank you for posting your fine production work on our LST 325. All of us are very proud of 'our' Gray Lady from WW II. On behalf of all of us from the 325, "Well Done"
Hey, you're very welcome Bob. I believe I may have talked to you a bit while it was stopped in Moline, IL. I know I talked to a tour guide named Bob anyways! Yeah, it took quite a bit of time for me to decide on the order of photos and audio...I was hoping it was alright! Thanks for the comment! I have another video as I passed the 325 on a Riverboat, it's on my old account...you may have seen it already, but it's usually the first "Related Video" on the right side. Thanks again!
