  • He's genius!

  • That is why Islam. Christianity and Judism forbid this type of money business, strictly forbidden, if only we wud have noticed!

  • The political whores are protecting the wolves that have stolen our wealth, while simultaneously removing all consumer protection regulations that got in their way. All you smarty pants out there;tell me how to start a trend that will bring us into an ideal economic system that is fair and just to all.Idiots and liars, debate inflation vs. deflation vs. stagflation, while the truth is staring us in the face: Deflation to zero is the answer. If the goal is liberty, what could be better than free?

  • @christophercredit the status quo has always been self interest in the form of corruption, cronyism, favors, looking the other way...u know the drill.this is true world wide, everywhere.know it,and own it.it is still in most every way,an every man for himself world where u get away with all, and or whatever you can with the smartest assistance u can find and buy.nothings changed folks.stay vigilant, involved in all affairs that concern you,and know that the "rules are being bent against you often.

  • The problem is these assholes are making/earning/ no stealing through taxes these thieves do not work, killer money as the kill us they need to be eliminated now.

  • I got another truth for you, try this on for size. The entire Oil market is controlled by a computer, another words, Oil doesn't go up and down in price because people are buying and selling Oil, it goes up and down because a computer is controlling it to do so. I'm a scientist and discovered this 4 years ago, and now I teach the "code" for Oil and how to easily take advantage of the "code" by trading it yourself and making virtually as much money as you want. Google "Oil Trading Academy". David

  • @OilTradingAcademy so how many billions are you worth prove it and i will follow

  • Hong Kong only have 5% Unemployment, which is already high. We only pay 17% flat tax on everything. No tax on alcohol below 30% by volme. Hong Kong goverment is actually so well run we had average of 4 out of 5 years with high surplus and actually got tax rebate, we end up paying about 10% tax only..

  • For all the USA has done for this man, why is he not back here helping us with his vast wealth and knowledge?

The East is going to feel our pain in less than a generation.. there kids will be just has lazy as ours have become.

Entitlements are an economic curse of wealthy nations!

  • @mtggod

Money has no conscience. usa is all about money. usa has no conscience.

  • @mtggod wtf?

  • Don't the far east get most of its money from the west from making manufactutured goods for us, we we all go bankrupt who will the far east sell their products too?

  • The average income for say China is going up, their local market is growing.. hes not saying that US and UK will go and become poor, but whats hes saying that Asia is coming and coming fast...

  • Yes he is saying exactly that buddy. The only reason things have not catastrophically collapsed in the West is because the banks are on life support "zombie banks" Just wait till the back up generator runs out which is very soon. Probably months away. If China looks to its own then this will compound the crisis that is coming. One way or another we will experience pain like never before and there is no way out. I wish this was bullshit I really do.

  • China can't look to its own. It needs other countries to do well enough to buy their goods.

  • themselves

  • I have listened to and trusted Jim for many years now and am so thankful I did. The West is Cooked and soon I am going east.

  • I agree with Jim Rogers alot. However, 45% of the Forbes World Richest People 2009 are in the USA so im a little confused.

  • Yeah and what does Forbes define as wealth......? sharholdings/values etc

and what percentage of the US population do they represent.......?

    Fuck All.

The system is over, just look at how much perceived value has been wiped off the stock market and how quickly it has happened.

    Are you still confused??!!

  • let's say there are 10,000 rich people on this planet and about 4,500 rich people living in the U.S. but the population of the U.S. is 300 millions.

    4500 vs. 300 millions

don't be confused. u need to look at in term of the number of people, not in term of percentage.

north korea is one of the poorest country on earth. i am sure 10 rich people live there at the expense of 33 million people. that 10 people include Kim Jong iL and his generals.

  • 1,000,000 in assets is rich for most of the world, and 7% of Americans have that.

  • and all those assets are paper based and they are value on the dollar. but once the dollar collapses the wealth will be gone.

  • @baigandine and the other 93% know who stole it from them.

  • Banking bailout = Welfare for the Rich!!!!

  • Yes it is. In the 70's it was Lockheed and now it's the banks.

  • The USA is FINISHED.

  • Net even If everyone who made that claim was actually shorting our currency instead of just venting steam.

  • New Job - Make Money Flipping Domains On The Internet

  • "A weak currency is a sign of a weak economy - which is a sign of a weak government." Brilliant.

  • Then why does China have a weak currency? Oh right, they are cheating.

  • If anyone wants to learn about Sweden's banking crisis, start by Googling "Swedish banking crisis 1992". When Jim Rogers says that Sweden forced the incompetent people to go bankrupt, he is referring to the Swedish government's taking ownership of a few Swedish banks, and wiping out the private shareholders.

  • Which bank in sweden failed during the 1990's? Which companies did "go under" during this time?

  • Isnt the sterling backed by silver or gold, and shouldn't that help it?

  • Many people I come across have this misconception that their currency is still backed by something. All currencies today are just backed by one thing - HOT AIR.

  • Also, this is just a testament to the fact that how stealthily governments all over the world have ripped off their people.

  • Why does Jim keep saying that the politicians are "making mistakes"? They're fucking us ON PURPOSE!!!

  • nice pink shirt, 25 cents.

    rich man but cheap man

  • Asia is the way of the future, he's right on that,, but i think he's miss-estimating some things,,, china's momentum is undeniable, but i think they will face a lot of problems which may set them back Plus, in 1801, Britain was the dominant military power,, in 1901 the US already already ruled the seas and had the most military muscle, in 2001 china may have an amazing growth record but its military force is totally dwarfed by the US's_that in the end is what matters in the geopolitical stage

  • 1901 the US already ruled the seas? That's nonsense. Britain was the number 1. 20 years later, however...The same today. The US are still number 1 militarily, but 15-20 years from now, China will be number 1.

  • It would be remarkable indeed if China became the next United States without a few downturns along the way. Expect a few economic downturns in China.

  • What if Jim Rogers is wrong about China's future?

I know China hasn't neglected to learn HOW TO 'fudge the numbers' from their european influeces.

Some news articles put unemployment in China closer to 200 Million rather than the mere 20 Million being reported by the Chinease Gov't.

The US Government fakes it's economic data: CPI, PPI, & M3 without question.

If things are so good in China, why double the bailout effort?

China has potential, but will it also fall from within?

  • 20 million is not the figure being reported by the chinese govt.

  • Nelkwie, you're probably right.

It wouldn't be a shock if 20 million is too modest a number for the chinese government.

  • Whatever happens to China, US/UK will be a lot worse.

  • I have been living in Hong Kong for the last 20 years. I hate to burst your stereo bubble guys, the truth is we are seeing more and more poor brits and yanks hard labour workers low income earners in Asia as they have no where else to go and see this is the future. This is just the begining... Western Pride come with a serious price. Jim Roger is one of the few who understand...

  • @hkrainman

Its funny you mention that, im heading to South Korea to teach English. Your right, western pride has its price. Which is exactly my nation is wasting money & lives in that sinkhole known as Iraq. How is it in HK, I would love to visit someday.

  • Hold on, hold on, when the Koreans took their pain, the Russians took theirs etc, they could still count on a ravenously consuming US to purchase their consumer/oil products. If the US were in depression, would they have bounced back so quick?

  • I agree. Are we overlooking that the Chinese use slave labor to export cheap stuff to Americans? I mean, if China "increases domestic consumption," doesn't that mean freeing their slaves so the slave keeps enough of his own labor to consume something? That defeats the purpose of having a slave. Things can get bad for us, it doesn't mean it's going to be gravy for everybody else. Other governments like to scapegoat the U.S. and say that we cause all problems in their country. Not quite right.

  • Have you heard of the Chinese labor law which has been passed by the CCP? Read about it, the corporations weren't happy, but the government passed it anyway.

  • Rogers is my idol. He is a slick bastard. If I had his millions or billions I would just bang asian prostitutes all day with that money

  • give us a little spin around your pad jim you slick son of a bitch, i bet he's got about ten little short skirt asian housemades waiting on him hand and food. I like this fuckin guy

  • we are iving in unprecedented times.....US went off gold standard and politicians of other countries accepted to hold $ gleefully and printed money like anything ...asian countries seized the initiative and devalued their currencies to get' rich'

now the complex game of cards breaks & nobody has a clue what'snext?

paper money paper gains paper losses paper reserves-nil nil at game over.

BS point- oh no other currency can replace $

I can takeover fed and do what it does with my laptop,Howzzat?

  • Obama is clearly out of his depth. ( which is the kiddie pool )

  • 19th Century British Empire, 20th Century US Empire, 21th Century China Empire. Each time the newest empire becomes the premier and reserve currency by default. Remember US went through terrible problems to becoming the world power in the 20th century.

  • i agree, The US is no longer the worlds oilconsumer

  • Gordon Brown and Obama...Talk about the blind leading the blind. A world new deal...I wish they read a history book once upon a time.

  • I don't agree with Rogers on his outlook on "creditor nations", as he is not taking into account, that some or most "debitor nations" will either be inflating their currencies and/ or will go broke.

The current crisis is a credit crisis. In such a crisis you don't want to be neither a debitor nor a creditor.

  • who is the interviewer?

  • Listen closely to what he tells, what he is saying in a polite way, oh heck just tell it like it is, "the crooks got rewarded and continue to be rewarded with tax payer's billions".

  • China could use Western peoples for assistance with their efforts to advance technology. How ever I think that its better to move to Russia and or Europe for a choice over America. The US in the Urban cities will not be a center of jobs any longer, unless agriculture moves into the city. I have been working on concepts to use skyscrapers as indoor plantations. We can engineer plants short and able to produce large amounts of food indoors. Temp control and Lighting will make the finest.

  • how old is this video interview ?

  • OMG... he's not wearing a bowtie... this doesn't feel right

  • lol

  • If you are a young person with no ties and can move around, move to Asia. There is not a better move you can make at this point, otherwise you will be mired in your lifetime by strife and struggle.

  • yes this is the "death of the white race".

  • Time to get a tan at the beach.

  • that's me : no ties & young ! well said : that's what i'm preparing to do now , first , the vasectomy !

  • My kids are learning Mandarin by tutor. I cannot speak a lick of it, and would not dream learning how to WRITE Mandarin, which is a different ballgame altogether.

  • I was under the impression China wouldn't allow anyone to move there?

  • I love how he quoted Gordon Brown there.

  • This summer I am too planing to learn mandarin chinise

  • you might wann learn how to spell chinese first
