The arcade version was based on memorization of simple moves, so I guess for the SNES version they wanted to retain that type of gameplay and also make it a platformer at the same time - - since they could not do a full motion video version like the arcade.

I beat the game the first day I got it YEARS ago on my SNES; If you can't memorize enemy movements after the first few deaths, then that's your fault. Also; You do realize in 'Energize' mode, you can blows things up with your laser, right?

All in all, I found this game quite easy to beat after I died at least 1-3 times on each level; Memorizing the enemies moves aren't at all as hard as your making them out too be.

And I don't know if it was the second or third level but I was in a little ship moving rapidly--that level I never passed.
