  • You have bad bedding. You need 5 to 6 inches of potting or ecoearth mix with vermiculate. And It has to be dry. It could be a wet molt. I'm that happened to your T.

  • ...now I'm scared my Nhandu Chromatus might have a bad molt as well.... and this video almost made me cry. XD

  • I need help.My Tarantula had a bad molt.I tried to feed her after 10 days. But until now she wouldn't eat and she is very sluggish unlike before and seems like having a hard time moving. It's been 3 weeks now and things doesn't look good for her.I've had her for 2 years now and I wouldn't want her to die.Any suggestions?

  • @komiks69 Although it's rather delayed since you asked I would think the best bet would be to put her in an ICU. My T. Stirmi Had a really bad molt and almost died from blood loss, he had to drag him self to even move. Took making a TP bandage to clot the blood and took an ICU to help restore his bodily fluids and movement. ICU's are amazingly simple and useful. Hope your T is fine. ICU's can be made with a deli dish/plastic jar just big enough for the T. Some papers towels placed

  • @deathsblessing around the inside and spray them down to keep them moist and keep the humidity high. Don't forget to poke holes in it figure most people know to do that. After you got it set up and sprayed down put in a small water dish and the T and let the T hang out inside for a bit till its vigor and stamina return n it acts more normal, Check on it carefully as once it does regain strength it may surprise you.

  • What was the name of the animal hospital you went to? Im having a hard time finding one.

  • I almost started crying D': It's amazing, though, that you have spider hospitals there.. I've never heard of such a thing!

  • aww, that frickin sad man, the song kills me at the same time.

  • :( maybe tooo dry

  • dude your tank was so dry im sorry for your loss but that was no doubt the cause i would of had my t in a icu so easy to make

  • Holy crap, such a sad video, dude i found my T laying on its back and with some webbing on top of it when i came back to my house, its my frist T (i found her on the road one day and decided to capture it) i have no experience with this awesome animals, so i just leaved her there, when i came back from school i went to check her out immediately and she was back on its legs again, i dont want to lose her, does this mean she's not ready to molt yet? what should i do?!?! :S

  • oh thats owfull. :( sorry about your tarantula mate. its really sad.

  • that por thing

    soz 4 your los

  • i am very sorry about your tarantula. In all my expereince this has not happen to me. It is nice to see another person like myself who loves their spider so much that they would take her to the hospitol. Rest In Peace Azriel.

  • Oh sht sorry... Thats sad... I already lost one of my praying mantis by the same death. It Was her last moult =(.

But i buyed another and it worked, and she's naturally dead... Too old...

  • oh man making me cry.. i just lost my p.irminia last night

  • damn

  • Very sad :(

  • SAD D:

  • oh no!! so sorry...... its always hard to lose a T...... i had one for 8 years and she never survived a moult..... very sad day.....

  • Hopefully it doesnt happen again but when you are sure they are molting and part way in, you can mist them from far above with water if you think they are having trouble and sometimes it helps keep the shell moist and therefore easier for them in the molt. Or raise the Humidity up a bunch if they are molting and you have that sort of control in your habitat

  • realy sorry man:(

  • :( sad mate sad

  • I understand how you feel. I lost my Acanthoscurria Geniculata (giant white knee) on Monday through a bad moult, she had one leg stuck and after 24 hours I amputated and sealed the wound, but she was too weak and died later that night.

  • you should've amputated the leg right when you saw the bad molt.

  • hey man i feel for you. i do think that the docs might be to blame for her losing the legs though. since its not their pet they would carelessly pull on her legs. i would have done it myself. but i respect you for doing all you could. kudos man

  • I don't care if any of you laugh at me but i cried. Sorry about your beautiful t. =(

  • pair of scissors, should have done it urself haha

  • I feel so bad for your loss man. I lost my 2 year old scolopendra gigantea A.K.A. Peruvian Giant Centipede in its molt I brought it to the exotic pet hospital but I noticed it was too late It already died his name was Larry RIP Azriel and Larry. I loved you Larry. I'll miss you buddy.

  • Ups...its a shame

  • aww im so sorry for you loss man!..i had 3 tarantulas (gramostola rosean) all 3 died while they were trying to molt :( ... and also because it was very cold in the other house :'( now i have another one he's really sweet i hope my new spider doesn't die in the molt process :(

  • ur so nice,

    rip little buddy:(

  • when my spider was molten i waited 3 hours til i helped her wiggle out.

than after that she always found better ways.

i had her for ten years , shes in my videos

even survived my house burning down on her.

i walked into the burnt house and dug her cage out and there she was buried in about a foot of sand.

  • BRAVOO!!!!! She has a Super nice owner!!!

  • i had a tarantula to once it molted ok but after it looked depresses it wasnt eating it went for 2 weeks with no food so i dint to see it die so i gave it back to the pet store im steel sad from 1 year ago

  • sry man, i feel with yuo,

its bad, when a spider die by molting.

    She was so helpless.. :(

  • aww man srry ;((((

  • dang that sucks id go crazy if my tarantula would die :(

  • :S SOrry dude I have a Murinus and I would not want it to die .. but It was your fault man :S because you didn´t have a look of the Humidity so . next time just control it

  • wait i have my tarantula molting at the moment and its not humid would that b a risk factor??? its inside its little house...

  • Yeap .. just buy a spray bottle and spread warm water into the terrarium just a little

  • alright cool thnx i just did it, mines like 1 year old, how long would it take it 2 finish...

  • A sad end for such a beautiful animal

  • this is actually very sad.. i feel sorry for it

  • i feel very sorry for the loss of your orange baboon tarantula. will you be getting a new one?

  • =.( i cried....

  • ;((

  • I almost crying :-((

  • uuummm it looks like u have too much stuff in ur tank like i didn't see a flat surface that it could have molted on..

  • you probably shouldnt have moved it =/ they're hardy creatures until something intervenes.

  • ya thats sad but if she is noticeably stuck in her skin than you should move her VERY carefully into a pet carrier and take them to an exotic animal hospital.

  • Very sad!!! the Pterinochilus is my favorite species too =(

  • :'( poor spider.

and i dont even like spiders :(

  • if you see your tarantula starting to make and untrusty molting platform move her gently to another spot. i had to with my pinktoe

  • It was too dry in your terrary that's why your spider couldn't get out. I know that murinus' habitat is pretty dry but when it's wet in terrary it's easier for spiders to molt.

  • I am really sorry about you're loss. But, this just means you have more experience. I hope you continue with this hobby!

  • ...yeah its defently been fun figuring all of this out. Ive been doing this for years now and this video just reminds me of what not to do...lol but agian there isnt alot of info for starters so you have to find out the hard way.

  • Yeah, but you still shouldn't give up on the hobby.

  • Now you are getting me scared. Right now, My chilean rose haired, flame, is also molting on an untrustful molting platform. she didn't start getting out yet, she is just sitting on her back. Oh man, I am praying!

  • sorry im late but you should be good, just remember most t's molt within 2hrs..just the premolt takes a while this video was a misunderstood spider for me at the time. Some experts say that some spiders actually forget how to molt the right way almost like a glitch in there dna.

  • lol Yeah, this one did have a good molt, and I will put up a video on it very soon. Thanks very much.

  • @IloveSPIDERZ Chilean Rose, G.Rosea, are very slow growers, their molt takes about 12-20 hours. I choose fast growers like my A.geniculata, onyl takes 4 hours for her

  • This was definitely a case of a tank that was not humid enough for the tarantula to complete the molt. That was exactly what I was thinking before I read any of the comments. I would have misted the tank but a wet paint brush is an excellent idea, good to know if this happens to any of my spiders.

  • That made me so sad. It's heartwarming to know you even made the effort to take her to a vet to try to help her out. Molts are extremely dangerous every time a tarantula undergoes one and sometimes (Like in your instance) they don't survive them.

  • surgery? in america you have vets that treat spiders? here in england i would get laughed at if i tried getting treatment for any of my spiders. i have a p. murinus. i think the tank was not humid enough. mjellyg is right a wet paintbrush could have saved her life, she got stuck from lack of moisture. but you werent to know :-)

  • rest in peace hope he did have a good life

  • fuck... im so sory.. she was a beutiful spider..

  • weird.. but it was sad :S i feel sorry o.o

  • hi there, can you help me with this one, my tarantula is not moving for 2 days up to now..is she going to molt or dying?..im so very worried!...

  • Well remember that tarantulas are a verry boaring pet..lol they might not move for a while the spider could be in what is called a pre-molt. They usally wont eat or do a whole lot for like 2 weeks then they will molt ...give em time....Also they usally will die with there legs folded under there body like a fist. So if you see him flip over with legs facing up he's probley molting.(depending on species.)

  • oh shes not moving really even i open the lid of the tank no reaction to her....even i move or touch her, still no reaction..no defensive reaction,...is she in a premolt stage???????...

  • i guess i should of asked sooner but what kind of T do you have?, and if you could send a pic or make a little video of your T in the state its in. Honestly if you just put a search in google for a pic of a dead T you will see what they look like dead but agin its hard to tell by what your saying.

Agin i would like to help but need at least a pic to go any further.

  • Is she on her back or right side up? If she is on her back then I would say that she is dead or dying. I had this happen to me once and it was because my spider crawled upside down and fell from the top of the lid. Make sure you have plenty of substrate and please add spagnum moss to the substrate to add softness and it retains moisture. Important for a molt which could have also been the problem.

  • A wet paint brush count of helped.!!!

  • Aww what a moving video. Poor murinus :(

Sorry for your loss. You did all you could.

  • yea after 6-8hrs if its not out its really bad=[ im sry

  • I'm sorry for the loss of Azriel. :( I have a baby P Murinus and I have now named it Azriel. :)

  • thanks thats cool of you to do that. The name was kinda an issue i had to think of a female that was famous and had orange hair...so i just happen to remember the "smurfs" cartoon and remembered that Gargomel's cat was orange and female so it worked ....lol

  • Thats awful. Sorry for the loss of your little one. :(

  • RIP... my condolences:(
