I was here! Ag Hall is still standing, but hasn't seen a wrestling match for many moons. Hogan and Friends show was there recently. A group of friends and I would be there every 3 weeks, year round. We even knew where to go afterwards to meet the guys. I have photos from this match!
Hulk was trying different ring attires it seems back then. He wore a white sniglet, then blue tights, then trunks. If we only knew then what would come later.
well I havent ever seen a man sustain so much accumulative concussion syndrome in one match as this Valdez guy. Someone really should have told him how to fall.
The only time I ever watched wrestling was during my high school years (78 to 82) and now I love revisiting the matches via YouTube. Ken Patera was my absolute favorite....not to mention I had the teenage-hots for Fred Blassie!! (Yeah, I know; most people think I'm insane....different strokes for different folks!)
Saturday mornings, WGHL Channel 17 Philadelphia and a bowl or two of Count Chocula. GREAT stuff, lovely memories!!
this match determined who would be the biggest star of the 80's. Its too bad we werent seeing Harry saying "Well you know something Mean Gene? Me and my Valdeziacs are takin our vitamins Brother!"
Check out the guy at ringside wearing glasses and a lab coat - that's the infamous "Steroid Doc", Dr. George Zahorian, who almost brought down the WWF in the early 1990s.

Valdez makes Lee Wong and Sylvano Sousa look like Lou Thesz and Verne Gagne...

Between the years 1979 to 1982. That's when The WWF was at it's best. They taped thier tv shows in Allentown, Pa. and Hamburg, Pa.

If only Valdez had won, then he could have had his own reality show on VH1 some day...

The former Terry Bollea faces the awesome challenge of the formidable Harry Valdez. Fear Harry Valdez . . . yeah, sure.
