  • A GREAT POET

MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE IN HIS HEAVENLY ABODE

  • another gem of dying language in India. No possibility of getting such poet and listeners in coming years.

  • Chandermahan Ji, thank you for sharing a gem with us. Two stars that twinkled on the sky of subcontinent and the establishment has been very uncomfortable with, were, without any shadow of doubt, SAHIR & FAIZ. All the tyrants have gone to oblivion but the immortal words and the rendition of these both souls will always light the world of poor, sick & destitute

  • @Komalrani

    Always welcome...

  • a great poem by a great poet. my father know it all by heart one word to another.he had spent his college years with sahir sahib as he was friend of my grandfather.i got exited hearing his voice. of whom i used to listen so much from my childhood..

my grandfather has translated sahir sahab "talkhinyan" in which the same poem is there in arabic which was very much hit in the arab world.. and ABOVE ALL THANKS FOR THE UPLOAD.....

  • Sahir Jaise Log Roz Kahaan Paida Hotey Hein....?

  • Thanks for the historical facts which has cleared up a few doubts I had in my mind!Sahir was understandably upset at lack of recognition in Pakistan! his Nazm, "mere mehboob kahin aur mila kar mujh se* was a reposte to Faiz's "mujhse pehl si mohabbat mere mahboob na maang" of course imortalised by Noor Jehan! There were No takers for Sahirs Lament! I am glad he returned to India and so did Bade Ghulam Ali Khan Sahib, and was soon spotted and cherished/nurtured /respected by Maharaja of Baroda!

  • My out of words when Sahir saab uses his pen on paper , no one can modify ink like him , Hats Off . All his sonds are just A.W.E.S.O.M.E.

    Gumrah , Humraz , Waqt , Kabhie-Kabhie. " LOVELY"

  • is it right that he was moved to pakistan when he was on pech of his career because he was thinking his poetry not find his rigjht place in india????.but after some time he was passed away there.

  • Sahir was very loyal to India - he even went to entertain the Indian Army troops during the wars that India fought. He was highly respected and his poetry was very much appreciated by the India. A true Son Of India.

  • He came to Pakistan after independence but couldn't be recognized as the top poet since Faiz Ahmed Faiz took that title after he wrote the poem "Mujh say pehli si mohabbat meray mahboob na maang". After spending a few months in Pakistan Sahir went back to India.

  • Great work...The greatest poet of modern India......he never got the recognition he deserved

  • We miss you Sahar

  • Fantastic. I simply love his poetry

  • Is this Sahir's original voice? I assume but wanted to check..! Awesome recording.

  • Yes Dear. This is Sahir's original voice
