  • I wish they showed more of her feet, that's where the really impressive stuff is going on.

  • Who dances is Yolanda Gonzales.

  • for anyone who is confused as to why the irish dancers are in this number, it is because the woman represents fire and the men represent the early settlers who were scared but mesmerized by her flame

  • for some reason, the beginning makes me think of the gerudo valley from OoT

  • I would have prefered if they had left firedance to flemenco, plenty of time to see Irish in the other parts of the show. I dont like the attempt to mix both styles on the stage like that, just doesnt work in my eyes. I suppose its the build up of watching this beautiful women only for it to be disrupted by tall, sharp, soldier-like men overpowering the whole scene. Just my oppinion, I did step dancing myself for a long time so its not like im dissing it in any way, just dont like the mix is all

  • ah wow i actually love riverdancing, this is great ! she dances so bueatifly :D

  • oh my God..this number is really amazing..I saw it alive and still have shiver when rewatch it...she is fabulous!! I like her and, of course ,incredible Maria Pages!! They make the best flamenco I've ever seen..all I can say BRAVO!!

  • Maria Pages though a great dancer has this great ugly nose which is all you notice when she dances. Yolanda Sobrado is gorgeous and a very sensual dancer! I'd rather watch her dance than Maria any day.

  • Goood..But she's not Maria Pagés. must look when Maria goes down the stairs to see the difference...and everything else!!!

  • Her name's 'Yolanda Gonzalez Sobrado'.

    Thanks for "sigunat".

    :)

  • this is amazing. both versions are incredible. there's no need to compare. they r both wonderful in their own way.

i actually didnt know there was a version w. tap dancers. im doing a peice to this song and was thinking of having tap dancers for the more irish dance sounding part of the music. guess the idea has already been done . lol

  • I'm with tealescope original was wayyyyyy better I was watchin this thinkin WTF why so many n them blue shirts are so not a good look for them

  • I think these versions both are so different, that I can find the beauty in both of them. So I am happy I don't need to compare them that way.

  • It`s amazing ! wow <3

  • oh lovely! thank you, terracottaheavens!!

  • she is NOTHING comparing with Maria!

  • Hi! Please, I want know what is the music. Thank's

  • It's called Firedance. By Riverdance (or Bill Whelan)

  • Yolande is amazing i think that with the irish dancers she is even better that Maria Pages!

  • ilove it.. it is so beautifil...

  • WHO IS SHE?!?!

  • I love Riverdance! Fabulous steppers and a music that kinda makes you look forward to something good.

  • i thought no one could do this better than maria pages but, i thought this woman did an EXCELLENT job.

  • Lovely!

  • maann i wer so gern uf genf abe go da luege xD finds eifach hammer <3

  • i love this piece but i think it was better originally when it was maria pages and the male lead (colin or Michael) as created originally by michael Flatly it was more powerful and he and maria had such a great connection!

  • this one is doubed, probably if the original sound was recorded it will be more intense

  • nice, but there no need for the men, as good as they are to come on stage. the solo with maria pages is the real FIRE speaking strictly has someone who didnt know either dance before watching the two clips. those men took away some of her fire. she had better color shoes than maria pages, but thats about it. i love the serious look of flamenco dancers, however! a lot of other dancers have a vapid smile on their faces.

  • She's like Summer, trying to fend off her friends Autumn and Winter. Very classy. Riverdance is the lord of all dances.

  • This woman dances very good also the others, I love this music! I can't dance Salsa or what ever, but I can dance Riverdance (Irish dance)

  • This is not salsa - salsa originated in Cuba and Puerto Rico. This is flamenco, which had its roots in Spain, and they utilized this number "Firedance" to symbolize the unification of the Spanish and Irish cultures in Galicia.

  • actually thou it was perfected in spain... flamenco was first danced by the gypsy's that moved north west from the middle east. If you notice some of the movements are remeniscent of belly dancing.

  • Actually, Andalusian dancers, were already dancing a type of high art of dance before any of that arab and middle easter stuff came into the scene, a lot of that is exaggerated. The Romans use to love to have Spanish women from "Hispania" visit and dance because of the highly civilized art and culture in all of Spain. I have done years of study on Spanish dance and this middle eastern thing is misconstrued. Their is some influence but flamenco originates in Spain. Its specific to Spain.

  • used to live in Spain & did a little flamenco with castanuelos when i was little. :-)

  • precioso...unico...bellisimo

  • I think that she is physically more attractive than Maria Pages, but she is not as "passionate" and as poetic to watch.

Still, she is a very wonderful dancer. Great to watch!

  • I agree. This girl is very beautiful and graceful when she dances, but Maria has a raw intensity and passionate quality to her dancing that this girl doesn't seem to match.

  • I read in Maria's official website, that she eats sleeps and drinks flamenco... I think she literally walks around town with a flowing gown, a spanish fan and roses embedded in her hair at her everyday life.. kinda like buddhist monks or catholic priests

  • wow thats all i can say

  • What is women dancer's name?

  • Yolanda Gonzalez Sobrado y es una dignisima sustituta

  • trop trop beau on lache pa le regard!elle danse tro bien!

  • wow!I love it!

  • My high school band played this song. I had a relatively easy part, but playing 7/8 is freakin complicated as heck! And we did not go as fst as this.

  • Blibertyblob123

Is your band a marching band? If so what instruments play this music and where can I find the sheet music for it?

  • No, it was a concert band. clarinet and soprano sax played most of the melody and my band teacher got it online someplace. i hope my reply to your msge to me got through as it is more detailed.

  • I keep losiing the 7/8 as I try to count it out!! Are there random bars of other time signatures sprinkled in here, or am I just really horrible at counting 7/8? (That's been known to happen!)

  • My band played a different version of this piece last year. The counting is a bitch, let alone the actually rhythm. I feel you.

  • there are other bars of 6/8 in there too =D

you don't count this music, you just learned the note values haha.

  • Very late, but if somebody still cares I actually bothered to learn this song. And it's 7/8, 7/8, 6/8, 7/8. Pretty much the entire song, but it's easier to just feel it than to count. AMAZING song, can't stop listening to it.

  • Very very very very very beautiful!! :))

  • az riverdance vidyosu koyun lan arkadaş yollaya yollaya beynimi dikti

  • Işıklandırmalar süper. Dans zaten mükemmel.. Hatunun kostümünü de beğendim.. :) E Riverdance sonuçta tam not vermemek olur mu? :)

  • Wow! I must say that this is my favourite version of Firedance! I haven't actually seen any of the Geneva Riverdance pieces, so could someone tell me the name of this flamenco dancer?

  • The dancer is Yolanda Gonzales Sobrado.

  • i love riverdance

  • 10 times better!!!
