Go to system preferences and choose and go to startup disk then choose the hard drive! Then boot up time will decrease substantially. It helped me on my 27" i7 iMac from 1 minute all the way to 20 seconds.

another problem with mac is games, micro$oft is paying game developers to only use windows.

so i also recomend windows 7 loader 1.7.3

i have a small number of problems with this.

1) Macs (i'm gonna say iMacs, cause they're the best example) feature the latest and greatest hardware. Even the cheapest model is pretty high-spec. Therefore it should run perfectly fast enough (unless you're expecting to do something daft like game while you're rendering video).

2) You're suggestions are basically to disable all the OSX features. I have an idea. Buy a PC and use Windows XP,
