so basically we are all going to be connecting to a "cloud" being the internet which not only connect us to the world but provides all the rendering/processing for you. this will not only bring a whole new market but it will destroy pc sales, gradually.

No definitely do not require Gigabit LAN, although when connected to a workstation PCoIP technology can make use of high bandwidth when available (other technologies like HDX 3D are limited in display frame rates and quality due to the limited ability to drive bandwidth when needed and bandwidth is available.

Is there anyway to get a beta version of the new VM View 4? I am in the industry and was hoping to test it out before the release date. I was thinking about purchasing one of those Samsung PCoIP monitors to test it out with.

PCoIP technology was developed with real networks in mind including built-in network monitoring, off-load and acceleration, dynamic quality, fair bandwidth sharing, build to loss-less imaging, and specific optimizations for high-latency and low bandwidth networks.
It is not surprising that you have not seen the optimizations they are not widely available. Stay tuned a lot more detail to come shortly.
For those of us struggling in the real world with a multitude of remote sites and ISPs and telco "partners" that do large buffer-based "zero-packet loss" services resulting in mega - latency, could you please share with us the bandwidth and average latency of the network connection in this demo? I have heard that PCOIP does not perform too well over the wide area, and on the face of it, viewers would need to assume that the network this demo is done on is a high-speed local area...
