@brittanybaybeex33 yeah it really should have sold more, i mean 5 U.S number ones and almost every track (9/10) was number one at some point in one country or another, a lot of people think the album is too poppy, but for its time, it was original and the world tour was one hell of an experience

I think all of Michael Jackson's albums should be selling as much as Thriller. I think his work got better and better through the years. There isn't one song that he sang I dislike. Personally I am not as impressed with Thriller as I am with the History albums. I thought Bad was great but I think Invicible is awsome.

Thriller was Michael's "Nutcracker Suite". In that, like Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker, every single track on Thriller was a hit and memorable. However, I do like BAD better. That's because you could hear Michael's confidence, sexiness and swag in that album. Like he had REALLY come into his own. And he was smoking hot.

Bad is an awesome album I always wondered what slowed it down. I buy a new one whenever the cd gets flaws. I keep one in the house and one in the car. It will keep you alert on long drives.

even in the stores where I live you can easily find thriller, off the wall, jackson five and sometimes dangerous and HIStory. But the Bad album is rare.

Anybody pause on the Bad vid before they tear a "WANTED" poster off the wall? You'll see the pic of a guy with a beard and it says "wanted for sacrilege" and there's a number starting with "T"... Who is that guy? I think this marked the point where MJ confronted his adverseries. It was his last album with Quincy Jones. What happened?

Seriously all his albums are out of this world, each is good and timeless in its own way. I liked Dangerous best for a while, then Invincible, then History, lately I enjoy Blood on the Dance Floor most of the time (the messages are so cool now). But when I was 12-13 years old, I was not "a fan", but I had the Bad cassette and i tell you I had a player with auto-repeat that played both sides, and that Bad cassette got played again and again the drama...I'd fall asleep to it, always a part of me

Bad's the best album he made, in my opinon. To me, it eclipses all his other albums and should have been the one that skyrocketed instead. The only reason Bad didn't sell as well, in my opinion, is because mommy and daddy didn't want 11 year old junior to buy the album with him grabbing his crotch whereas they probably not only let their kids buy thriller, they probably bought one for themselves. Bad is a teenager's album and, yes, I was a teenager when it came out and I LOVED it!

Cool! Bad is a really FANTASTIC album! I love that album! But.. I can see why Thriller is the most selling album. I mean.. I listen to all of the song. I haven`t heard one song of MJ that I don`t like!!!!

BAD is my favorite MJ album and i agree that it should have sold more copies. I love BAD because 9 out of the 11 songs are written and composed by MJ himself, BAD had MJ's best tour and Smooth Criminal (IMO) is the greatest video of all time

I think that Bad is musically superior to Thriller, but that is not the reason why it sold more copies. Thriller is more mainstream, has something for everyone & appeals to most people's taste; that's why it was such a blockbuster and MJ himself has never caught up with it. MJ himself said that Invincible was better than Thriller - and I agree with him wholeheartedly. But being both innovative and mainstream at the same time is very difficult. There is no formula for that kind of success.

Yep Bad is amazing but even if you take and compare Michael albums, the time of release is also a factor, and Thriller was released just in time because Michael did a REVOLUTION in music. New dance, new style, very high quality records, black artist on MTV etc. His MUSIC was the greatest revolution not only dance. Thriller is a revolution.

You are very right!!! Most of The songs, well ALL of the songs on Bad album are Beyond Great!!! I mean ok, thriller is really good, it has some R&B feel to it, but BAD, has A Rock Edge to it and It should have selled More than wath was sold, and Still, It's the Secon Biggest Album EVER Sold!!! So Michael has The 1st place and the 2nd place!!!

i agree, its because of his plastic surgery and vitiligo, and i was suprised to when the 'bad' album didn't sell so good. I think it was because some of the MJ-haters and others where thinking he looked more like a women, i read about it, that's ridiculous because it was then when he was sexy and popular!
