Nice the new 560 ti 448 core is a great gaming card for the price. I heard the same thing it was almost as fast as the much more expensive GTX570. I'm still rocking my 4870 but I don't do a ton of modern gaming. It's nice to have something that does DX11 though like this should handle the modern games just great!
The 4870 is definitely a solid card (I was pulling 60 fps on sonic gens on 1080p with some of the settings turned down, which still beats out the console counterpart). I wonder how this thing will run wii games on the dolphin emulator. I've heard that dolphin/pcsx2 are more cpu dependent, but hopefully I can pull some good fps (wii games look fantastic in native 1080p. I want to try out mario galaxy in 3D (another nifty feature in Dolphin).
I was looking into getting a 570, but the prices were too steep (350 bucks for the evga model). From my research, it seems like the best buy is to wait out three generations before upgrading to get the most bang for your buck.
@Treasurefan02 Ive got two of the Classified versions running in SLI and their awesome. I'm from the UK and it cost me £240 per card and i can run anything well above 120 FPS (well, maybe BF3 isn't above 120 but its pretty damn close).
If anyone is looking in the market for a GTX570, i say dont bother and get the 560 448 Core as it benchmarks the same if not better than the 570 AND its cheaper. Win=Win.
lol, I've just been lazy (that and work has been eating alot of my time). I still plan on uploading my Q and A response video very soon, I apologize for the crazy lateness ^_^'
Welcome back from your short little break. And definitely thanks for the heads up about this unit. I'll take it into consideration whenever I finally get the chance to start building my computer.
Would you consider the unit a top of the line ? Or more of an alternative piece ? Now do it functions best by itself ? Or do you have to have another unit to work with it ? Is there any cons ? If so, is it a major con, or minor con ?
Thanks, it's good to be back. If you plan on playing slightly older pc games, or emulated games (psx, saturn, dc, mame, etc), I'd say the 4870 is a better buy. If your goal is playing the latest games, this card or the 570 series are the ones to pick up (especially once the Kepler cards come out which should decrease the price of the 570). This card is more midrange (currently the 590 is top of the line). Nah, this card does great by itself, although...
...you can run two of the same cards in a SLI format to get some really meaty gains (pricey though). Cons would be:
- my hdmi port on this thing doesn't work, but I'm still able to use one of the dvi ports via a hdmi to dvi adapter. Surprisengly, 3D still works through the dvi port. I'm checking now to see if DTS-HD MA audio works as well.
Ill just wait til the 600 series comes out >.>
