  • not for everyone, but I'm thrilled, have done 2 so far like this ;)

    thanx...

  • .....how...the...HELL......does someone figure this out?????? REALLY!? this is SOOO much detail for this!! (Thank GOD i have a Toshiba-Samsung!)

  • i got a question if u use the ck3 probe 3 do u need to do all of this now?

  • I know you do not want to loose the views for this video but you should upload a new auto track warning and letting everyone know that this is a very outdated video! And should not be used anymore!! Or at least an annotation and note in video description!!! I get to many drives that was destroyed by this method that will never play a game because a newbie tried to flash there Xbox with this video.

  • learn to focus your cam

  • @TheSooostoned Yeah you do, but this obviously is not a good starting point.

And what's with the evil bitch? You must be one of the many illiterate morons who mistake the 1 in my name for an l.

  • @TheSooostoned It's close to impossible if you're a fucking novice. Good lord, you are stupid for attempting this.

  • wondering if you ordered the new probe 3, no cut, no solder and crap, i used it, but my xbox seems to not be flashed correctly.... do it al over again, anyone too scared to do this,or do not want to buy the materials, contact me for flashing ur xbox!

  • 4 of the dislikes broke there xbox

  • the jungleflasher tutorial says to do it a different way.. it says you only need 2 cuts and it has you placing the ground on the other side of the board.. i have the 83850c and i need to get my drive keys which way should i do it??

  • So it for sure works for the 83850c as well?

  • I haven't kept up with the modding scene as of late, does the LT firmware still work with the latest dashboard update?

  • thumbs up if you burned yourself with a soldering iron.

  • i purchased my xbox elite with a lite on drive pre-flashed and its bin great , but now with the new ap25 patchs for games like nfs acb, and fable etc doesnt work , so i have a few questions

    1. since i wasnt the one who flashed it how can i retrieve the orginal key (firmware ) also i have no idea which route they took to flash it , any one have any comment on what i should do ?? thanks hopefully i can make more sense of it all moving on 2 the other parts

  • I wish this was in better focus i cant see anything.

  • great tutorial but the focus is horrible, gave me a headache watching the whole video

  • i cant belive it i thought i had a benq on my xbox i wanna flash i knew my other one a lite on turns out both are lite on :@ am so fucked gonna have to send it in

  • What size/kind of wire are you using? Where did you get them and your switch?

    Thankyou

  • what wattage soldering iron do you use ? Heard that too high will wreck the board

  • Can You please inform me what tools have you used on this one? for powering the dvd for example and things You soldered to the board. You would help me a buch if You told me these.

  • Heyy man i just need what kind of wires you use ,this is where I'm stock

  • Can you use an exact-o-knife to cut the traces?

  • You Broke iT..!

  • this guide would be much more helpful if you would actually let the camera focus

  • How do you remove the sticker from the drive?

  • Will this void the warranty?

  • i have a 93450c but i don't want to flash it at all i just want to get the key so i can flash my benq drive......Do i need to do all this just to get the key ??

  • @Swiper360 Yup :(

  • im trying to flash this drive, before soldering it would come up on the pc.. but it wont be able to flash, so i did all the soldering and added the switch, cuts and a 22ohm 0.5w resistor..... but now when i open up dosflash, when i turn on the xbox my computer will stay frozen until i turn my pc off, this pc is pretty crap tbh its got 2gb ram lol anda 30bg hd, (its my mums pc but shes got a sata link in it(pci controller card) have i fu*ked up on the soldering or do i need to buy a new faster pc

  • Just had a thought shooting steel, I know you said its easiest way, I think for me personally I dunno about anyone else but would make alot easier if we could actually see a very clear video/image of the exact places we need to cut/scrape. Like Im not sure if youve noticed but it goes a bit blurry when you zoom in a bit. Still I appreciate your efforts big time, Just I think Id have a little bit more confidence if I could see perfectly, especially with this sort of thing.

  • Majorly disappointed my new xbox has this drive :/ Damn it. I don't have the ability to do this.

  • Easiest way, Sack this I will just spend 60 quid on an older second hand console with older drive in. Ive flashed my 7 series, I flashed my mates 8 series no problem without the need of using my probe, So I hooked up my elites 8 series drive the exact same and it wont read, Im guessing its a version 2. But too much hassle for my liking.

  • @ukogmickey

You will have to learn this to flash ANY new drive....I did not say easy.....this is the best that can be done as of right now ....sorry man

  • @hackingjungle No worries thanks for your help though yeah ! Its just a lot of people dont have the money to be scratching and soldering the PCB of the drive. If I had a few spare xbox`s then be all good but they dont come cheap. Like I said I will just buy a second hand older model and hope and prey its not either of these nightmare drives. Taker it easy man and thanks again.

  • What Type Of Wire Is That You Using To Make The Jumper?

2nd Question Is Did You Solder The Resistor To The Toggle Switch Along with The Other Wire

  • @KanyeJohnson

kynar 30 awg wire works fine but just about any will work for you....keep it simple and small....should not have any problems if you do visit Hackingjungle and post your question

  • shit that looks scary. The way he just scratched a huge fat line. It doesn't have to be that huge right? Just over the trace?

  • @Eamon

the fat line I scratched was the trace....only the trace

  • i dont have any connectivity kit, can i use my xbox 360 to power the drive

and do i need any home made probe or something

  • @MMMMDSFMMM369

you need the kit to do this

  • hi i want to ask you that do i need to connect the three wires like laser ribbon and other 2.after soldering and to read the drive.since i saw other tutorials they donot connect the three wires while using urs method.(i donot want to use probe method)

    thanks

  • great tut worked great withjf1.7b,good quality video5/5 , i powered my drive thro xbox

.but still i can't remove my via drivers

  • Hi, I have checked the wiring and track cuts so many times, even metered them out one at a time to ensure definitely no mistakes.

DOSFLASH states its an unknown flash type and cannot identify the flash, it can NEVER get the drive into status 0x72.

JF - my system hangs if I switch drive switch to ON, but JF sees the drive fine with switch OFF, but stays in staus 0x51 / 0x52 even after power cycling the drive.

  • @vishwa7777777 You probably have a winbond type flash (I have read that dosflash cant do these). You must use JF for this. If JF is hanging, you need to remove your via driver from system 32/drivers folder. It will be called something like viamraid.sys, vraid.sys, etc (google for exact names). Reason for this is windows likes to auto install for you. Once you do this, the hang should stop happening. To get 0x72 in JF, follow the JF tutorial instructions *exactly*. If you do, you will get 0x72

  • @vishwa7777777

come to hackingjungle and post up man we will get you through this

  • Can you use the xacto knife to cut the traces also (without the drimmel)?

  • @TeamRekon xacto will cut the traces without a problem man ....no worries

  • hey do I need a connectivity kit or can i have the board hooked up to the xbox power ?

  • @potvins you will need the kit

  • is this the MRA hack? and does this work with 74850c?

  • @Nicsor49 it's a variation of the MRA and yes it works with the 7000

  • wow i hate the liteon

  • @dodgevipercool ....LOL

  • too much work... use a razor blade to make the cut and a fiberglass pen/brush to get to the copper... takes like 30 seconds max...

  • @coedshowers ....so many ways to skin the cat

  • I'll wait until there's a safer and easier way ;)

    Nice video

  • @NinjaOnFireee first thank you.....I do not think that there will be a safer way anytime in the near future

  • @hackingjungle What prevents us from dumping the key through software only? If there were 'Magic keys' for the other drives, surely these ones have them. I doubt that Microsoft repair goes through this stuff every time they get a red ring console...

Keep up the good work!. I got lucky, I have a 360 with a 7000 series. Built a probe with spare parts I had lying around. Fun holiday project.

  • @hackingjungle is there an easier way right now? all i have is the CK3 and Probe V 2 lol. but honestly, i really dont wanna scratch, solder or whatever. i just flashed the 7850 liteon lol. and i almost screwed up that. almost ended with a bricked drive due to a lite-on erase fail (jungleflasher won't recognize it anymore and openening the drive with the CK3 doesn't work anymore) but thx to the fact you can barely brick that drive, i managed to fix it ^^

  • i guess it;s our fault you didnt flash it correctlly? thousands have been succesful watching these videos. they are there to help people sorry if you didnt do it right but at the end of the day we did not tell you to flash your 360

  • also , no one said the drive was easy just this is the easiest known way at the moment, shootsteel makes it look easy but for him it is. i brain surgeon can make it look easy but doesnt mean i would let you operate on my head.

  • Hey ....sorry about your luck man ....it happens to the best of them ....get another box and repeat the procedure....you will get it with practice....visit Hackingjungle com for the Homemade probe guide....

  • VietNamessee, you're an idiot. Did you pick up an old circuit board and practice soldering? Did you have the right solder tip and solder diameter? Did you look at the very clear pictures on the hackingjungle website? Did you research thoroughly, if you had you might have found the Xecuter LT switch which minimises the soldering required for this procedure. Don't get angry at others for your stupidity.

  • how much*

  • ugh im not really good at this stuff lol i got a 93450c how would you charge to do it?

  • Why the fuck is the video so blurry/out of focus?!?

  • Cause the camerman is not a Professional Camerman....Check out the site for an updated and complete written tut on how to do this....even learn how to make a homemade probe.

  • Which dremel with which bit did you use? You say it in the video, but i can't really make it out.

  • smallest bur that they make

  • Jesus it would of been easy if the video was in FOCUS!?!!

  • if this is the easiest im SCREWED!

  • a easier way will come out just be patient!

  • @tyzer23 lol

  • what's the nam,e of the switch to get and will a 22 ohm 1/2 resistor work

  • After doing quite a few of these over the past couple of months I have found 20 ohm resistors 1/4 watt will work better than the 22 ohm

  • you don't really need to scrape the entire trace, just the points where you gonna cut and create the jumper and where you gonna solder the wire to switch.

  • darn thats fucking hard microsoft made it fucking harder ive flashed all drives accept these well i got to get to work on these

  • Can you tell me the name of the switch I need to get? Or where can I buy it at?

    Thanks bro you the best.

  • If you need someone to tell you what switch to buy to solder to the board then my opinion is you shouldn't be doing this... but to answer your question; Any switch man, it's just a switch.

  • @jidar That's a dumb statement...no one knows anything until they are taught (or figure it out). I've soldered tons of things but have never needed a switch...so I was in the same boat when I didn't know what to get. Knowledge is incremental; just because you know how to solder doesn't mean you know the whole of electrical engineering.

  • ok, i have a 22 ohm resistor, BUT its 1/2 volts. is that ok, or do i need 1/4 volts?

i also have 10 ohm resistors, and they are 1/4 volts. can i just put two of them together to make 20 ohms. or will that then be 1/2 volts again?

thanks, and reallyyy great tut man. really helpin me out

  • you can put two 10 ohms 1/4 watt togethor

  • @issacbourne you need a 1/4 watt resistor....1/2 will not enable you to get the driveboard in vendor mode

  • Very good tutorial.

I sincerely hope I never run into one of these drives. I don't like soldering. =)

  • thanks man

  • dremmel or you can use a razor

  • What's the name of the Tool used to cut the trace
