  • @nightroses1 it is not upset it is angry because when my blue tongue skink did that whoa he boomed

  • awwww its so cute

  • the skink has asma though, right?

  • @chowdermarshmellows no it was a warning sign that he was upset.

  • Would a breeder ship to Rhode Island?

  • @jakestring98 yah they can even ship internationally

  • He's so beautiful. I have a blue tongue skink sitting on my shoulder as I type this ^^ I like how he shipped him, the blue tongue skink was buried, which they like, and he even had his birth date on it :) I just got mine(Toothless) for Christmas and he does the hissing now and then but not as much these past few days.

  • That's a good looking blue tongue skink you have. Do you by chance remember where you ordered it from? I am looking for one and there isn't any local stores around me that sell them.

  • Questions: Whats the hissing hes doing?

  • @orckiller91 Just what these skinks do when they are nervous or giving a warning sign. The follow would be the display of the blue tonuge.

  • Shipping a live animal D:

  • HELP!my blue tongue lizard is always asleep! and hes really stiff i have woken him at times and he has got really mad at me.

  • @TailsSonicPaige123 could be your temps re to low causing him to go in burmatation what temps are you keeping the hotside and cool side at?

  • @MrFreaksanonymous ummmm i keep him outside in the sun in summer and in winter keep the UV light on inside i now have 3 they are fine now :) one baby (wild) One MASSIVE one (wild) and one bought from the shops (middle)

  • @MrFreaksanonymous he was hibbernating i woke him in winter lol

  • Talk about shit shipping.

  • @moonspinner2lol You can provide food, and your skink will eat maybe once a week. I suggest leave some fruit such as mized berries or banana.

  • @jctrock they definitely eat more than only 4 times a month.

  • @moonspinner2lol Everything else sounds like it is perfect. I think your skink is going through burmation. This is when a skink will sleep and not be active for some time. At this time you need to leave them be and soon after they will be active after the winter season is over. If it is winter where you live this is totally natural. My skink did this last winter.

  • @moonspinner2lol What are your tempertures?

  • He was soooooooooo scared! Poor guy! All better now should be nice and big too. I love my skink! I have the most common one and I'm not going to butcher it's spelling....the one that starts with I and has a red belly.

  • @anoconnor Sounds like you have a Iraian Jaya. Thanks he is doing really well these days. Just got done feeding and cleaning his waterfall.

  • would u say that ur breeder is a good one? because im looking for my first bts and i cant find any good places to buy one.

  • @ghwtcod5123 My breeder is excellent. Informative and kind over the phone.

  • i got a blue tounge skin today for free!

  • @MegaDemonlover Nice, a video up?

  • @jctrock it'll be up soon ^_^

  • Took you 3 minutes to open the package and then you still let him drop >.>

    Nice BTS though!

  • He was puffing his throat because he/she was P@&£ed off at being dropped lol. Man next time get some cable cutters you took to much time opening the parcel and distressed your pet to much

  • @apoc123ify Haha no problem. I will. Hey he was puffing up before he was dropped 5 inches into some soft newspaper. Today he is strong as a bull, but friendly like a puppy. Check out his latest clips on my channel.

  • hi Jctrock, i went to your website and saw that Eastern blue tongue skinks cost $200 but a friend gave it to me for only $20 :D

  • @gua0004 Not my website, my breeder's site. Good for you. You got a deal from a good friend.

  • 2:56 why did he start breathing funny?

  • @DinamiteLizard My skink was stressed from the shipping process. Today he is quick on his feet for a cockroach meal.

  • how long did it spend in that box? poor things

    fuckign cruel

  • @roflwhales Just a few hours. Not crewl. The standard way on shipping reptiles and amphibians.

  • @jctrock

well i am glad that it was only in there for a couple of hours. i was concerned it was in there for a far longer time.

i still disagree with shipping them in small containers, but it's not like my opinion is going to affect anything lol...

  • Ray is an amazing breeder and his skinks are A+ material. Also, the way he packs skinks is legitimate.

  • @DarckTheCat Thanks for reconizing him. I love his clips he has on youtube as well. So of the most beautiful lizards. I am subscribed to him. My skink has grown into a great looking male. I will buy from him again one day.

  • u killed it

  • Just a couple of questions. I'm dying to get one of these little sweethearts. How are they able to breath in that tube with the newspaper? I find it really sad that they're forced to travel in that. What kind of tank would you need, what food would they need, and how much would one cost (Including all of the mandatory supplies)

  • @xXTheInsaneRP2Xx bluetongueskinkdotnet should answer all your questions. They are very friendly lizards.

  • poor babe... he's (she's?) all stressed out and throat puffing...

  • @ToMakeSilverSing He is doing really well. He ate a Dubia cockroach today. My skink will be 4 years old this year. At this time, my skink just arrived from Florida to CA that is why it is puffing.

  • Clutz

  • @xNuman haha

  • Do you happen to know anyone still raising BTS's?

Looking for an adult female Northern BTS

  • @NIN18 bluetongueskinksdotnet under classifides.

  • do you know what the largest speacies of bts is?

  • @DRCRUE1313

It's a northern, but they're not THAT much bigger. But they are usually nicer.

  • @Ultimategrid If you are saying my skink is a Northern, it is actually a Silver phase Tanimbar. Captive bred.

  • @jctrock

No I am telling this guy the largest species of Blue tongued skink, as he asked the question. Just a misunderstanding, I know my skinks.

  • @Ultimategrid I did saw that after I commeted. I read the largest Northern Bts has been recored at 27 inches.

  • @jctrock

28 actually. My biggest one is twelve years old, and 28.4" And he is like a puppy when it comes to people.

  • lol skink flop

  • @Timmer66Productions Haha I know I failed!

  • poor lizard what is the name

  • This is a great video. However may I give you a tip?

When you get your skink, open the container and let him come out in his own time.

  • @Macncheezeness Tip well taken. My skink is doing great these days. I have a few clips of him on my channel.

  • @jctrock Great!! I'll be sure to look them. :) I'm getting my first skink soon, I can't wait!

  • these things are way cool i held a really cool one today. i love their soft skin , i want one next.

  • @raychfbabii Thanks for checking out my Skink. I suggest you buy from a breeder for the healthiest specimen.

  • is an 8by 8 tank ok for one or is it to much room for a bts because im donating my closet and its about that size.

  • @megalizardfreak These skinks will use as much room that you will provide. 2 feed wide by 3 feet long is enough space also.

  • how much was he

  • @reptisafety Hi, my skink cost me $100.00

  • i was born may 13 1992!

  • Comment removed

  • nice BTS im in the process of setting up my tank for my own new arrival of BTS. hope yours is doing ok though cos unlike other lizards the slightest fall of even 7 inch can damage the thick and heavy body. ill be checking your other vids, cant wait to see your setup for the lil fella

  • cool how far did the bts fall

  • @TheSnarfal Less than 10 inches. Check out my skink in his current stage. Click on my page for clip.

  • what was in the envelope and btw AWSOME looking skink

  • @Dirtbike4ever123 In the envelope was my reciet and $10 cash I over spent. Thanks for the compliment on my little one. He just shed today. Check out his latest clip: Waterfall & Tanimbar Blue Tongue Skink

  • why is he breathing like that? :O

  • @Reptopia He was afraid. New enviorment. Reptiles need at least a week to eat and get used to the new terrarium.

  • @Reptopia ah true okay! thanks! hows he doing?

  • @Reptopia This clip was back in Febuary of 2009. He is sleeping for he last 3-4 days burrowed. My skink has grown so much since this clip. Check out the clip for the latest: Waterfall & Tanimbar Blue Tongue Skink

  • nice BTS dude !!, but it's bad packing

  • @bantenzSkid Not bad packing.

  • @bantenzSkid setelah dibuka ternyata isinya ES TEH MANES !!

  • I do not recommend opening anything holding a live animal with Box Cutters!

  • @suckr4ahappyending I now agree, my 1st shipment of a box like this. I won't do this again with a box cutter, but with sciccors.

  • @jctrock i recommend opening it with the force, young padawan.

  • Is that the skink huffing and puffing, or you?

  • @jedihunter176 The skink.

  • @jctrock Wow..

  • if anyone is interested i am selling an 11 month old kei island blue tongue skink red phase he is in perfect conditon eats well and was tamed down from a baby. High quality reptile for the experienced or if your just into it for a beginning reptile just do your research he will be 300+shipping US ONLY

  • man he did not look very healthy coming out of there. he looked really dehydrated. btw i was wondering if i should get one of these or a tegu. i have many cages and almost evverything you need for both besides the diet. but which one would you prefer

  • @p6u12 If he needed water. There was water in the dish. That same month my skink got plenty of fruit, so he was not dehydrated any longer. A Tegu eats 3 to 5 times more than a Blue Tongue Skink. I would perfer a skink.

  • @p6u12 Also adding on to what jc said, Tegus can reach 4-5 feet long, Alot larger than BTS, they require alot more housing space, and are alot harder to work with when it comes to taming, prepare to be bitten alot by tegus, especially black and whites, they are more commonly aggressive

  • @p6u12 So true about the space requirements. I did not mention because I thought it was obvious. I have seen a tegu video of someone keeping these beasts outdoors and feeding them chicken strips in the clip. They were Black and White Tegus and Red Tegus as well. They were as large as a Beagle.

  • hey do u know anything bout taking bluetongues to exotic vets? coz i think my bluetongue has mbd coz he dosnt walk well. im verry worried so i wana take it to a vet. wuld i need like licence or something?

  • @1nnerSoul Talk to the vet in your area and ask if they treat reptiles and amphibians. They should give you answer. Use reptile calcium on the skinks food at least 3 times a week and your skink will build its strength up and fill out its MBD ridden body. It is not something that can be cured... I am sorry your skink has MBD!

  • @jctrock yeah.. hes not looking good at all. his eyes look more sleepy and it looks like he breaths from him mouth?

yes i do sprinkle calcium powder but the problem is its winter and he wont eat anything

  • @1nnerSoul visit this website bluetongueskinksdotnet and post what you asked me there. They can help!

  • do they have teeth and do they bite

  • @supermike19961991 If they mistake you for food they could bite. If handled on a regular basis as young skinks they will be used to a human's presnece. They do have teeth.

  • is he hissing is it normal

  • @TheREPTILEKID13 Yes it is.

  • poor skink you droped him

  • @THEGOODGECKOGUY

All reptiles are shipped in boxes. Talk to a petshop and ask them about animals being shipped and they will tell you how it is done. He was snug in his newspaper which prevented him from banging around while in the shipping process. He did not fall on any hard surfaces and it was less then a 10 inche fall on soft newspaper...

  • you dropped him on the floor!

  • @BuschTukkerMan No, in newspaper strips. It broke his 5 inche fall.. 5 inche fall.

  • very nice!

  • @howbouthemrays Thank you. You should see him these days. I have a new video up of him titled Tanimbar Blue Tongue Skink behavior

  • awww what a cutie XD it's a really awesome light color! I just got a gecko online that's coming tomorrow...lol kinda off topic though...

  • @MarkNightriver Nice, congrats on the gecko. Thanks for the kind words.

  • thats incredibly mean to have him packaged up like that, and stuffed with news paper tioo, that hissing was probably the poor bastard gasping for air, and then u drop himtoo, wtf

  • @fraydough All reptiles are shipped in boxes. Talk to a petshop and ask them about animals being shipped and they will tell you how it is done. He was snug in his newspaper which prevented him from banging around while in the shipping process. He did not fall on any hard surfaces and it was less then a 10 inche fall on soft newspaper...

  • can u tell me where u got it from im thinking about getting 1

  • from that day to today how much times has he bitten you

  • He's beautiful! I'm getting one soon and I can't wait!

  • inf0man1, thank you. He is alot larger and happier these days. What species have you chosen?

  • @jctrock I wasn't able to get one anymore NOW. I'm annoyed. But you're one is still really cool.

  • I just got mine yesterday he does that hiss thing too but only when I try picking him up, besides that he just stays in my hand. I took him outside today cause it was warm and he loved it :)

  • That is great news. They love natural sun light. Nice to hear. I bring my skink out all the time.

  • mine does that huffing thing too i just got him yesterday is it cause hes scared?

  • Yes, Blue Tongue skinks do this as a warning and in some cases such as the wild, they will expose their tongues while hissing. Your skink will get used to its enviroment and not hiss as much in about 2 weeks.

  • He's a gorgeous little fella. Congrats!

  • Thank you froggi201, he is shedding at the momment. I will have to pick up all those scales, they are litering his terrarium.

  • haha may 13 is my moms birthay

  • does ther bitee Hurt???. i got a veiled chameleon an a cresty gecko. dha cresty bite me wunez but it didnt hurt. chameleon hasnt..

  • A bite from a full grown skink can draw blood. A baby skink, may not draw blood, but it can hurt.

  • lovely little fella congrats

  • Thanks. Yeah, he is doing very well these days.

  • Exactly. Dude, it's not that hard to open a freaking box.

  • This video is not about opening a box. At the time, my blade was dull. Who cares?

  • Your point? I don't spend that much time with videos.

  • mabey he has a little of a "life" and doesnt want to spend all his life on comp?

  • can anyone message me i want one but im scarred of them dieng in the shippment

  • You dropped him on his head =\ wtf man

  • NecroG0d. He never fell on his head. He flopped right side up on soft crumpled newppaper. Did you listen to what I said in the video? He is totally fine. He two times this size today and ate a fruit/veggie mix w/ a Night Crawler and Dubia cockroach nymph. Quite full he was after that meal! Check out my other bv videos of him, NecroG0d.

  • he fell in the box on newspaper stupid how would it hurt him

  • Absoloutly Perfect! to be expected of Ray babies.

Also thought it might be good to note that Tanimbars are notoriously aggressive as compared to the other species of BTS and tend to keep that huffy attitude their whole lives. Congrats!

  • Thanks LuciferSpades. My skink has calmed down alot since this was filmed not to mention has grown.

  • whats wrong with him when u first take him out he is all huffy and puffy sounding is he juss scared it sounded like he was choking or couldnt breathe

  • The skink is nervous. Just got off a loading dock and a truck in a dark box. It was a natural reaction.

  • Just a quick comment to let some guys know that the way that skink was posted was well within regulations! It had heat pad, insulation chips and plenty of padding to ensure it was safe! The skink would have slept most of the journey! It's all good folks!

  • imwatchinit, thanks for clarifying about the shipping of animals being safe.

  • No problem! I thought id clarify as i myself run a reptile and invertebrate company that runs on mail order in the UK!

  • he fell on the floor!!! :(

  • JCTrock he is VERY cool. I'm getting one this week from SunsetSkinks, we are SO excited.

  • You're so lucky! I wish I could convince my family that their good pets...grrrr...

  • Thank you eklly. I am gonna go to your page and see if you have a video up of your new skink.

  • im jealous

  • poor guy

  • OMG want one but in a box man that is wrong wat bout the temps and shit and water that guy just shuvs it in a box and posts it wat a wanker

  • You must KNOW I recieved this Blue Tongue Skink in the mail. It was shipped to me. This is how all small animals and herps are traveling for years, through the mail. The shipper makes sure it is warm enough for the reptiles and amphibians to be shipped before sending. 60F-70F is just fine for shipping at night. The package was delivered at 10:30am.

  • You're obviously a KID or a RETARD lol

  • Check out the lastest VIDEOS on my Skink if you wanna know how it is doing! He is fine. :)
