I've since installed a different device- the one with ATRE - a lot more complex installation, but it gives you additional torque - as it's a timing retard device.
I added this Gear Position Indicator to my 2008 Suzuki M50, making it a lot safer as I no longer have to guess which gear I'm on. This is a VERY EASY installation- it plugs right into the Engine Control Module (the diagnostic coupler inside the right side cover of your bike, by the battery). The hardest part of the installation is fishing the wire through the bike so it is conspicuous. Purchased on Ebay for $145. Sweet!!!

It connects very easily - into an open connector on the right side of the M50, where the diagnostic computer will get plugged in. VERY SIMPLE!
