@ahquatre , i'm with you on that one, i know this argument is flawed. I can also say that some of the most hatefull and violent anti-gay people can be either bi or attracted to same sex; because it scares them, discuss them, they are ashame of it and anything that reminds them of their own feeling makes them hatefull and sometimes violent. That is ONE fact but its not a generalization either; not all anti-gay are gay or bi or have homosexual feeling, some are plain hatefull & ignorant.

A straight guy doesn't need to kiss another guy to prove to himself he's straight. A straight guy not confident in his sexuality will go and kiss another guy straight after this video, because "Davey Wavey said it'll make me straight". I've heard this myth many times before, and it's incredibly flawed. I'm confident enough in my own heterosexuality that I don't need to go around kissing boys to know I'm straight, it's something I'm not interested in and I won't do it. I know I'm straight.

The only reason one would be afraid of watching such a video is if they were uncomfortable with their sexuality. I agree that straight girls kissing for attention at parties can be super annoying, but I know some girls who have done it because they thought they might be bisexual, and they wanted an environment to test it in when their sexuality wouldn't actually be questioned--in other words, if they liked it, they would know, and if they didn't, people wouldn't automatically assume they were lesbian.

To be fair I've never seen two girls kissing either, they wouldn't get teased as much, but it's still pretty rare in my experience. A friend of mines called Hughert (I know, strange name) is straight yet he will kiss any guy who asks, he says it dosen't bother him because he is comfortable with himself. i've been to a few partys where straight friends of mine will make out with one another more than with their girlfriends. when i asked them why, they said it turn the girls on to see how confident they are in their sexuality, and they enjoy it because A) kissing is fun and B) they know that they're going to get with their girls later in the night.
Who does a "kiss" is viewed "sexually"? Aren't people are being subjective to that? A hundred years ago, a kiss has many application to social interaction within a community, and they don't just view it in a sexual way (although it will depend on the type of kiss done by a person).

@fujikokun I've never seen or heard of two straight guys kissing in my area, they'd probably never be able to live it down. To be fair I've never seen two girls kissing either, they wouldn't get teased as much, but it's still pretty rare in my experience. I'd kind of always been under the impression the US was less homophobic? Probably because of 'Glee' though.

I kissed my best friend on her cheek ONCE, and a bunch of my friends freaked out about it. I've known her since we were both in diapers, and It's like I'm kissing my sister on the cheek (something that I can do without people acting like I nearly raped her).
I'm glad it died down a bit after that, but I have to wonder what the reaction would have been like if I had done that more recently... Perhaps more of the stupid lesbian jokes, perhaps a few actually good jokes, or perhaps no change at all

Girls kissing other girls isn't just for the pleasure of other guys, though I will admit that most public kisses between two girls is just to get some guys attention.
I do think that just seeing two girls kiss is over-rated, society has gotten too used to thinking of two guys kissing as wrong, even if its just a friendly peck between two straight guys.

Who does a "kiss" is viewed "sexually"? Aren't people are being subjective to that? A hundred years ago, a kiss has many application to social interaction within a community, and they don't just view it in a sexual way (although it will depend on the type of kiss done by a person).

Straight is just a label, and kissing is kissing. if you're questioning their motives for kissing (e.g. they're just doing it to get guys) then that's another thing. however, it is also not okay for a person to judge another person's motives. maybe they are really feeling the kiss, even if they choose to identify as straight. or maybe they are just exploring another side of themselves. either way, it's not any more fake than lesbians kissing
