@starbreez3 mistakes, maybe. Such comment betrayeth blindness to the paradox which is the treble. Light and high tones are associated with the feminine; but there is nothing feminine about the boy's voice. It is weak, and yet at the same time strong; imperfect, and yet perfect. Had the boys made no mistakes, then neither would they have been boys. As it is, their standard is, as thou hast said thyself, awesome.
Ganz Prima, Kinder! Wird Jesus Alle Euch mit Seinem ganzen Herzen lieben und Allen Euch Erlösung in der Ewigkeit auch geben. Danke schön und Auf Widerseh'n.
"Denn das Gesetz" is one of the Motets' very highest moments (along with that gorgeous "Gute Nacht"). The Tölzers really sing it with full-on humanity. I wish a good CD recording was available in America of their take on the Motets.
It's so sad to admit, however, I have performed this multiple times with a highly-regarded choral group and not ONCE has the emotion and artistry even approached this level. Überraschen!!
hahahaaaaallleeeeeelluuuuuiiiiiiiiiaaaaaaaaaaaa, it's a beateful song.
The other "alto" i was talking about might have been a soprano 2, I don't remember. I dont have the notes and it has been so long since I sang it as a boy =)
Whoa, dont call anyone retarded unless you know him, fool. I dont like them because the one alto sings offtune, and the otherone is not loud enough. The "headboy" pushes through too much. That's my say!
Considering their young age, they're astonishing. I really, really, really love Bach's motets. They make a light shine on me. For those who're looking for definitive versions, I recommend Philippe Herreweghe and his Collegium Vocale of Gent.
Early in 2009, a video will be available of the Tölzers performing double-chorus motets of not only Johann Sebastian Bach, but also of his family. It should be a great item to own!

White corney nerds singing. This is just painful. Sounds like shit. Great technique and harmonics.

i have never liked the baroque music (lots of technics , lack of sensitivity imho) but this one is extraordinary piece of classical music.

though this is a positive comment....
i have to tell you that if you think baroque music lacks of sensibility, It also means you have no sensibility at all.

It is interesting, but the difference between a boy's soprano voice and a woman's soprano (or alto, for that matter), is very apparent.
