  • Amazingly beautiful! Thank you so much for posting. Sadly, it seems that some people don't "get it". But I think it's pure worship and God accepts it as such. "What God has cleansed let no man call uncleansed" Nothing pagan about this form of worship!

  • Rock and Roll and "Hula" is NOT the samething! Plus, I "Am" Hawaiian and have been teaching traditional hula for the past 30 years! Bringing people to Christ is not the issue here! My people regarded "hula" as pagan "themselves!" Christianity that was brought by the missionaries was very sacred to my people that the old pagan dances were done away! That's my point! It's haole people like you and misguided Hawaiians that try to make hula into "Christian" worship is "sacreligious!" No matter what!

  • Hula is not suitable for Christian worship! It's "pagan" in orgin! All motions in hula was to honor nature, family, ancestors, royalty, land, Hawaiian gods and goddesses. If it was suitable for Christian worship, the Hawaiian people would have incorporated it a long time ago! Though the intention is noble to praise the Lord through hula, it is not appropriate and in many ways - sacreligious!

  • @squeeky805 Missionaries brought Christianity to the Hawaiians in the 1800s, hence Christian hula. By the way, rock and roll is pagan in origin. Do you condemn Christian rock artists who bring people to Christ?

  • @squeeky805 You'd be surprised at just how many christian traditions are pagan in origin! Christmas itself is one of them. That day isn't really the birthday of Christ you know. It was selected to encourage Christians to celebrate Christ rather than the Yule/solistice of the pagans. Even Easter has pagan origins. Hence the reason a number of Christians choose to refer to Easter as Resurrection Sunday or as Pascha (as Orthodox Christians do). Anyway, I think Christian Hula is beautiful.

  • Dance before the Lord is a humbling experience, she totally abandons herself to the act of expressing her love and joy to the Lord... It is intimate and personal, and it is not expressed for the sake of herself, but for the sake of the King!!!
